The ferry is a literal breath of fresh air compared to BART. It has been life-changing to have a commute that rejuvenates instead of taking away.

One of my favorite and peaceful escapes is hoping on the ferry to go sightseeing in San Francisco watching the waves and sipping on a nice cup of tea it’s so relaxing I enjoy this service one of the best ways to commute throughout the Bay Area.

We took a day trip from Oakland to San Francisco and then came back at night. Both were great trips. An inexpensive and fun way to get across and enjoy great views. My only complaints are that the parking validation situation was confusing (and the staff member we talked to didn't know enough to be helpful) and the bar is cash only.

We live in Sausalito across the street from the ferry station and it is so nice to just walk down the street and take the ferry to the city. The only bad thing is that they let all the cycles go first. They should let all the pedestrians first then the cycles. The ride is pretty smooth and fast

If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area I recommend riding the Ferry. It's one of the funnest things to do. It's very affordable and the views are breathtaking.

It's hard to imagine a more mismanaged transit system. Despite the lack of visible signage you're expected to know which gate your ferry departs from and whether it is hiding behind a construction site. How to buy a ticket is just as mystifying. Online schedules don't match the actual schedules. The view is nice, but take BART. You will be less aggravated.

What a joy. I am not a BART-hater. It has its place and I use it a lot, but, if the crossings to SF fit into one's work schedule this is tough to beat. The parking is free for 12 hours (even if the gangway validation is a bit frustrating), the trip can be beautiful sitting inside on a wintry day or an absolute glory on the deck on that rare perfect day the rest of the year. And having Rosenblum Cellars a few steps from the ferry terminal for a stop with friends on the way back from the City is a clear win as well!

Ferry ticket guy said our trip will be between 15-20 minutes to get from Jack London square to Chase center. Suh-weet!

The ferry was on time and boarding was very quick. The staff were polite and the ferry kept to schedule. There are lots of seats both indoors and out, which are comfy. Outdoor seats are only at the back on the upper level. The ride was smooth and the trip from Oakland to Pier 39 gave great views of Oakland port, downtown SF, Alcatraz and the GG Bridge. Although more expensive than BART it's a much more relaxed and scenic way to travel!
