I have a very sweet, but nervous shepherd mix. I was referred here after going to other places, and not really loving how other places dealt with nervous dogs. I conveyed to them that he was scared around new people beforehand and everyone in the office was so amazing with him. He actually seemed to really enjoy all the girls in there, which was funny and unusual for him. They were very patient and sweet with him, and let him explore around and get comfortable. Dr. B was patient, sweet, gentle, and very informative. He’s respectful of your time, and really seems to care about your furry friend. I would highly recommend him to anyone near and far. There was not a single part of my experience that I didn’t love.

Found Canal Animal Hospital through my pet insurance and saw that they had rave reviews on both Google & Nextdoor. After years of bringing my cats to what I would like to call a retail vet, I decided I needed a more one-on-one personal experience for my new pup Kenobi, and decided to give them a try. All of the reviews were on point. My boy is a rescue from Peggy Adams who has never been fully trained properly and is very hyperactive. He is also heartworm positive but on treatment. The staff at Canal was so understanding and welcoming to Kenobi. They made sure the entire lobby and halls were cleared of any other dogs/cats so that he wouldn't go crazy and overwork his heart. Dr. Butan was so great with my wild boy and he listened to all my concerns about him. I think we have found our fur-ever vet and I am looking forward to many happy and healthy years with my Kenobi.

I adopted a 12 year old pup from PBACC and needed to get Roxy in for a new pt appointment. Everyone was lovely, and the vet? Roxy has a terrible licking/itch issue. Dr gave her a shot for the itch, and at the end of the week the Dr texted me to check up and see how Roxy was doing. I have never had a vet follow up on our first visit! Super impressed with the staff and services.

I strongly recommend Dr. Butan and all of his staff that I’ve met thus far. I rarely have more than a 5 minute wait before being seen, and the staff is always so kind and attentive with my very hyper puppy. Dr. Butan is thorough and informative, and his rates seem incredibly fair.

Canal Animal Hospital was highly recommended to me. We went for the first time last week and I was very pleased. Customer service is wonderful from the phone call to the visit. The staff very friendly as well as the veterinarian. Not only did they make us feel comfortable but our puppy was happy and well treated. I recommend this veterinarians office.

We've been taking our cat to Canal Animal Hospital for almost 7 years. The staff is remarkably kind and attentive and Dr Butan is always available to discuss what's best for our cat. Our cat can be difficult, especially when she needs treatment, but Dr Butan and his staff are able to treat her, whether routine or symptomatic issues. There are plenty of veterinarians closer to our home, but it's worth the drive to go to Canal Animal Hospital.

Excellent vet! Really easy to get in touch with, and didn’t have to wait long to be seen. Our cat is a total stinker with vets and usually won’t let them touch him and they were so patient and kind - he let them do the full exam no problem.

Very good Vet. Skilled and compassionate. Returns is own phone calls to patients. DR is very involved in the plan of care as well as the follow up. Extremely unprofessional and disorganized hospital. Always expect to be delayed and wait outside the hospital for 20-30 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. Tardiness is such a turn off but is the norm here. I’ll be switching hospitals moving forward.

I brought my Aussie to this practice about a year ago. I’m so happy that my dog is in such good hands. The Vet here is incredibly knowledgeable. The staff is so kind. They even helped me get my dog to Croatia last Spring. Some of my favorite things about this place is their attention to detail, quick and consistent follow up when needed, and awesome office staff/environment. But most of all you can tell they really care about your pet and you 👍🐶

Friendly, kind, caring staff. And doc is informative and thorough. Would highly recommend you take your fur babies here if they aren't feeling well.

An awesome, kind, friendly, caring place to bring your pets for medical care. Reasonably priced and become a part of your family the same way a pediatrician would for your kids or your GP would for your family. In the worst of times or the happiest of times they take good care of you and your pet.

They took my sick kitty in right away and treatment is ongoing,the Doctor texted me to check on my kitty,just a great group of people,very friendy,knowledgeable and caring!

Dr. Butan and all the nurses at Canal Animal Hospital have FAR exceeded our expectations. After years of going to vets who just tried to get our pets in and out quick and sell us on any and everything they possibly could, we thankfully found Dr. Butan. The whole staff truly cares. They really got to know our dogs and always take the time to get to the root of any issues they may have. We CAN NOT recommend Canal Animal Hospital enough!
