Happened
to
go
here
for
the
first
time
on
the
eve
of
Mother's
Day
and
found
that
it
was
filled
by
one
large
party
celebrating
the
holiday
together
-
it
was
the
best!
Not
only
were
the
owners/managers
of
the
restaurant
very
friendly
and
welcoming,
but
so
were
the
other
patrons
who
who
made
us
feel
like
we
were
part
of
their
group.
The
whole
experience
made
our
first
visit
there
unparalleled.
Given
that
we
were
newly
vaccinated,
we
decided
to
take
our
meals
to
go.
It
was
hard
making
any
decisions
at
all
because
the
restaurant
smelled
so
good,
and
the
other
patrons
meals
looked
so
delicious,
as
well
as
the
portions
huge!
We
started
with
the
Haitian
meat
pie,
a
huge,
deep
fried
hand
pie
whose
pastry
was
more
chewy
than
flaky
like
a
Jamaican
meat
patty.
It
was
filled
with
savory
stewed
chicken
and
at
$5
was
perfect
for
two
to
split
for
a
starter.
For
dinner,
we
had
the
classic
Griot
-
marinated
and
fried
pork
chunks
served
with
a
mountain
of
black
beans
and
rice
and
a
few
enormous
fried
green
plantain
chips.
It
was
starchy
and
unctuous
in
the
best
way
possible.
We
also
had
the
stewed
turkey
with
rice
and
beans
and
a
beautiful
side
salad.
The
large
turkey
chunks
were
fork
tender
and
covered
in
a
spiced
brown
gravy
-
it
was
also
fantastic.
Finally,
as
a
treat
we
got
a
passion
fruit
smoothie
made
with
sweetened
condensed
milk
and
ice,
slowly
blended
until
creamy
and
delicious.
Overall,
it
was
a
great
experience
and
I
look
forward
to
going
back
and
eating
in.
