Generous portions, college-kid affordable prices, and good flavor--what more can you ask for? The Thai Gourmet food truck provides you with enough food to stretch out into two or even three meals for just $5 for a "medium" and $6 for a "large." The prices are very cheap and the food tastes good. This isn't fine dining, but if you're looking for a tasty bite to eat on a budget during lunch in Oakland, it's hard to beat this. On top of all of that, the guy who runs the truck is super nice. Sometimes he even gives out free bonus sides or desserts just because. I bet he's the kind of guy who gives out full-sized Snickers bars to kids on Halloween. I've been here many times, and I will certainly be back again.

Tried the chicken pad Thai and pork lo mein. Authentic Asian taste, big portion. Most importantly, the price ($6) is so damn affordable. Haven’t seen this price for years! The owner is very friendly.

I don't usually write reviews for food establishments but this food truck is just so good that I have to. I've tried the majority of the items on the menu, and each one was extremely tasty. My personal favorites are the pad thai, satay chicken, and the pineapple curry. The food is authentic, and the owner is extremely generous with portion sizes. A small entree, which costs $8, is already a lot of food. Large entrees are only a dollar more ($9) and, for most people, are enough for at least two meals. All entrees even come with a complementary bag of potato chips. The owner, Tim, is also probably one of the nicest and sweetest human beings ever. He serves customers every day with a genuine smile on his face and also remembers all the regular customers. He even gave me a Thai iced tea (which I'd also strongly recommend!) for free one time because there were extra. Overall, the Thai Gourmet Food Truck gets a 5/5 in all of my main metrics of taste, value, and service. If you haven't already, please give this place a try.

Disappointed that I didn't discover this place sooner! The owner is sooo nice and the food is great quality and portion size, and very reasonably priced! I work in Oakland and this might be my go to lunch spot - it doesn't break the bank, food is delicious and I have leftovers for even a small size, and the owner is hard working and very friendly. I will gladly support them!

I travelled east to west over and over for business, and can say that the food here beats all Thai Restaurants from NYC to LA. The owner - Man, I wish you the best!!

I had the chicken pad see ew. It was full of flavor. Way better than a few places i have been recently. The portion was enough for two meals for me and the price of $7 was great! I will definitely be going back soon.

This place is really a gem. I come here often (whenever I crave spicy pad kee mao (it is amazing!)). The owner is the sweetest and he always smiles! I feel like whenever I go there he gives me some of his positive energy along with great food!

We just had this for my son's birthday party this weekend. Everyone LOVED the desserts - kids and adults. We ordered the ice cream sandwiches, donuts, cake pops and strawberry lemonade. They made sure we ordered enough for everyone (and was kind enough to make sure we didn't order too much as well)! Highly recommend Sweet Ride for your next event!!!
