This place was so delicious. Yes it is spendy, but come on you are in Palo alto. We had the schnitzel with the spatzle, I have no idea if that's spelled correctly, but it was delicious. We also had the sausage appetizer of course. And dessert. I felt that everything was excellent, but unfortunately the souffle was only okay. So skip the souffle and get a different dessert. But definitely check out this place.

Delicious Austrian food conveniently located on California Ave. While the food is on the pricier side, every dish ordered was absolutely delicious. Ordered the scallop appetizer and while it was super delicious, it's quite price for the amount of food you're getting. Get it if you have no qualms about spending. The New York Strip Steak Main dish was quite tasty. Great value, lots of meat and perfectly cooked while being very tender. Ordered a variety of dessert options to share with the group at the table and came away impressed. Vanilla soufflรฉ was delicate, light and fluffy and the highlight. The apple strudel and chocolate cake was quite delicious as well. Overall you can't go wrong here, easy to make reservations even the day before for a dinner time reservation. Service was exceptional and we were well taken care of.

I was expecting Austrian dishes, but the only thing they had was Wiener Schnitzel, for $42. No, thanks. Got the Bratwurst with a little Sauerkraut. Tasty, but for $17 greatly overpriced. Good service, though.

Visited for the first time to sample the Lunch menu. Incredible food and service. The watermelon ๐Ÿ‰ soup is a summer must! The Halibut pairs really well with the tomato Salad it comes with. Refreshing and healthy. Slightly less healthy but indulging is the burger. Very well made. The Aioli and pretzel bun uplevel this burger. Happy to see more fine dining spots popping up. Can't wait to go back for the dinner menu

What an incredible experience from beginning to end. Every dish was so perfectly balanced, with little surprising touches that elevates it to haute cuisine. This chef and restaurant are on par with Michelin star restaurants and we wouldnโ€™t be surprised if they get their own star by the time we come back. I also want to say that the servers made our experience such a delight and really took the time to make us feel special and taken care of. Thank you Naschmarkt! We will be back!!

Love this place. Really good modern interpretations of Austrian and Hungarian cuisines, executed super well. Good selection of wines and pretty decent cocktails. A little pricey, but you do get quality.

Authentic and delicious jager schnitzel and spatzle! Great wursts for the sausage trio. Loved the red cabbage, kraut and caramelized onions with it. The apfel strudel was fabulous! The service was excellent as well. Booked a reservation in advance.

Amazing food. Got a special, so canโ€™t recommend a main dish, but from what I can tell, they will all be good. Pretzel was ok, not worth $16, the ones in the mall are just as good. We could have used 3 more pretzels for the amount of dip we got, which was great. Everything else though was excellent. The bill came though and it was shocking, so be prepared for that. Highly recommended place, try it! Staff will make you feel right at home.

Delicious food and wonderful service, but very expensive. We had the schnitzel (poured chicken on a pretzel.bun), chicken was very tender with a nice crispy outside and a warm, soft pretzel. We has some appetizer that had 3 different sausages with a traditional souerkrout and a sweet souerkrout. All were really good, I especially liked the savory sausage with the sweet one. The cocktails were so tasty, but definitely high priced at $22 per drink. All in all, I'd definitely go back for a special occasion. I would have never picked it out based on the type of food but I'm very happy I tried it. Also, it was very quiet in the restaurant, it would have been nice to have some music or something. It could have been the time of day. All the wait staff was so nice and very attentive. Lovely place.

Fantastic Austrian food with plenty of well-heated outdoor seating and excellent service. Complimentary bread was amazing, and then we had a pretzel with an awesome beer cheese dip. For entree, I had the Jager Schnitzel, which was hearty and delicious -- schnitzel covered in a delicious gravy with broccolini and garlic confit, with a side of spaetzl. Perfect for the cold weather! My wife had the chicken pot pie, which had a lot of fresh veggies along with the chicken, and a delicate crispy crust. Our friend had the goulash, with perfectly tender beef. The prices are a little steep, but the food is worth it!

Enjoyed a fabulous meal and excellent service tonight at a lovely outdoor table, even without a reservation. Every person and every course was superb. Matt had great recommendations including 3-sausage appetizer, corn soup, and rabbit Mac-n-cheese. Highly recommend this friendly and delightful venue.

My favorites were the pork belly, goulash, and stuffed cabbage, but everything we ordered was delicious. The meat was very flavorful and tender. I ordered the pork belly which is of course rather rich so I ended up sharing half of it with my partner and trying some of his dish for a palette cleanser. My partner really enjoyed the watermelon gazpacho and I'm glad we tried it.

Food is good. Very good indeed. But, but..... I can barely approve $42 (+10% tax + 20% tip)for Wiener Schnitzel BUT $42 for plate of GOULASH?!?! Oh come on! This is German / Austrian comfort food and not a fine dining. And please, don't use California prices as excuse. Ripoff. $60 for GOULASH after TAXES and TIP! Let that sink in.

A completely random pre-birthday dinner for wife , got us to Naschmarkt. Our first time ever and we were definitely left craving for more. We got in late (as this was completely unplanned and as random as it gets) though must say that we found the parking spot right outside the parking lot that sits on the opposite side. Got in and were greeted with a warm welcome and got to a table right at the entrance (which wasn't a great idea as it was cold and the door was not closed since that would be used to serve the guests that were seated outside and welcome folks to the inside seating area. Our server Freddie was very friendly and did run us through the specials of the day. We started with an order of Paprikawurst for my wife and a Sweet Potato Soup for myself. Got great reviews for the Paprikawurst from my wife while the soup was beyond exceptional and not at all overly done (which has happened at a few places in the past). Getting ready for our main course , we did order a couple of Jasmine Green Teas to sip along with the amazing cuisine. We ordered the Grilled Swordfish without the Sausage ( as i only eat Halal meat) and Fisherman's Chowder and started waiting anxiously for the order to arrive :) . In the meanwhile i started browsing through the menu in detail and came across Goulash. Tried my luck in finding if the meat in the Goulash was Halal (its definitely made with Halal meat ) and since Freddie was busy , we got helped by Ugur who had quite a few quick conversations with us (as we talked to him about our trip to Turkey) and made our experience super awesome. I had to let Freddie know to have the Swordfish be prepared to be a to go item while I would have Goulash instead. Both the Chowder and the Goulash turned out to be beyond amazing. The Goulash was made to perfection with the meat tender just the right amount and the cream on top with the Hungarian Pepper garnish made the dish perfect. Chowder was very well received on the other side of the table as well , and i got a few bites from the bowl and it tasted awesome. We ended the evening with an Apfel Strudel (perfect balance of sugar and came out so yum) that paired so amazing with the tea that we were sipping all this while. Would say a great experience which we would definitely repeat more often than just once. Till next time!!!
