We had a good but a bit inconsistent experience. The service started out pretty bad and had to get drinks from the bar since the server just wasn’t attentive. After that, and the issue getting raised to the manager, service was great! The food was all very good from the simple charcuterie board to the entrees: Ravioli sonorense, green Chile garganelli, rotini Allan tequila, and beef short rib Peposo. Excellent deserts, as well, esp the choctaconnoli. VictorB

It was great. We had the Birria pizza (one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had) and shrimp pasta. Did the fundido app and flan for dessert. Everything was super on point besides the flan was dry. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu. They got really busy on a Friday night, service was pretty good, not great. Food was best we’ve had in a loooooong time.

Great food! I was really happy with my entree which was a mix of Tucson and Italian flavors. Our appetizer was good, we got the calamari on chicharrones, unfortunately the chicharrones were dry and seemed not super fresh? The calamari was superb though, so it was saved. The atmosphere is kind of budget but we went for lunch so it was quiet and felt cozy. After eating the food here, I have no doubts they will have some upgrades coming soon. Service was great! I would go back in second, there are so many good looking choices on the menu. Parking seems like it might be a challenge on a busy night.

We got the birria pizza, soronese bolognese, and the pistachio dessert tacocannoli . Loved the pizza, the crust we really good! I didn’t love the red and green salsa in the pasta, but the bread bowl it came in was amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Definitely worth a try!

I have been wanting to eat at Zio Peppe for some time and finally we made it! We started off with Whiskey Del Bac Fundido – $12 A fun twist to enhance nachos . I ordered the Green Chile Rigatoni Bolognese – $21. I enjoy spicy and this dish had a nice amount of heat to give it some Character. Also, we ordered Lasagne Sonorense – $18, El Rustico Birria – $20, Margherita – $16, everything was a hit. For dessert we ordered Chocoflan – $9 and Taconnoli – $9, both were amazing. When you arrive, you will be seated as any type of sit down restaurant however, you place your orders with cashier and pay. The system seems to work well. Supporting locally owned restaurants. Thanks for a great meal, we will be back.

Our dinners were scrumptious. The Calamari was excellent. We both had pasta dishes which were very good. Our one complaint was its a 'go to the counter and order' place. Seemed totally wrong for the type/quality of food. They bring you your first glass of water, and then in the middle of your meal you have to make your way over to the soda/water machine to refill your own glass . 🙄 And. At any given time, there were at least 2 wait staff standing around doing nothing. At least walk around and see if someone needs another glass of water. (Or wine). Yes, I would go back and eat there again because the food was good. The service, so-so.

Just absolutely amazing food, with a relaxed atmosphere. I've spent a few years in Italy and the food tasted spot on. We got two fettuccine alfredo bread bowls and we had to take them home, there was so much food! The pizza's crust got absolutely demolished, it was so crunchy. Wish I still lived nearby to visit again. Side note but I really liked the design of the bathroom.

The Cesar salad was one of the best I've had, an absolute must try! The pasta was also amazing! The birria pizza was good, I personally would have loved some purple onion on it.

We were a party of 6 tonight, it was our first time dining at this amazing restaurant! The staff are super friendly and love to talk about the food and restaurant. Chef Devon and his team are cooking up such amazing dishes that are full of flavor and we loved the hint of southwest flavor’s being added to Italian cuisine. We talked to Chef at the end of the night and thanked he and his staff for a memorable experience. Casual atmosphere, order at the counter and then sit and enjoy! Very creative drink menu! They shared their home made limoncello with us and it was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back!!!

There’s a lot to like about Zio Peppe, from the location to the good service. And the bread — oh, the bread and that honey-chamomile goat-cheese spread! The menu is a little beef-centric, but the chef is flexible (and served the ravioli without the chorizo for me). The salmon is artistically plated and has a unique basil/pea coulis, and the taconnoli is an interesting share-plate dessert, with strong pistachio and only a light sweetness. Only complaint would be the processing of my Tucson Originals gift card. The manager noted that it was really meant to be used at the owner’s other restaurant, Fresco, but that they would go ahead and honor it anyway, which seemed odd in that the website clearly lists Zio Peppe as a participant. Other than that, it was a great meal, and we’ll be back.

We’ve dined here twice, both experiences satisfying. My girlfriend always gets the Figgy Stardust, whereas I gravitate toward the Bianca. They’re both delicious. The pizza crust and toppings are more reminiscent of a European style pizza which sets it heads above most of the other pizzerias in town. Notice those photos on their walls? That’s Tesseo’s Pizza, a favorite from back in the 1970s! Just a little building on Speedway in midtown. No paved parking, no indoor dining, you would either take out or sit in their quaint little patio in the back and eat on picnic tables. And the pizza? Just fabulous — it was my first experience with Sicilian style. Tesseo’s was iconic. Great memories.

New favorite pizza in town! The crust is soft yet crispy, with a sweet tone in each bite. It kind of reminds me of a Neopolitan NY/Detroit pizza (puffy crust with a thin base). The sauce is subtle, with a perfect texture. The mozzarella stands out on its own which makes the Margarita pizza a beautifully well balanced pie. The Rustica is a must try in my book. Never had a pie like this one... The side of consume is a perfect pair as well! The bread + spread (not pictured) was soft and hot. Same dough as the pizza I suspect. It was accompanied with minced garlic, oil, and sea salt. Great app!

Absolutely loved this place!! First and foremost, the service was beyond great; We had Kathleen serve us and I think she has to be one of best servers we’ve had; (we eat out very often and for many years, so this is saying a lot)Other staff was great also. Food was so good. I had the Bolognese and my husband had the Ravioli; we enjoyed the twist on both. Toconnoli very good also! Bottle of wine and the night was perfect!

This my our first time dining at Ziopeppe, for Mother's Day. The service was less than ideal considering it's a walk up counter for higher pricepoint meals. The atmosphere was terrible, and the service was worse. I ended up being overcharged when I was there (appetizer and drink, $30), which I had to call back multiple times to get refunded. It's a walk up counter that you pay at so I'm not sure how hard it could to overcharge someone. My mother also asked for advice on salmon vs the steak and the staff was either vegan or had never tried the plates. So if you're unsure what to order then flip a coin. Won't be visiting again after this experience.

Went to Zio Peppe for the first time tonight because the menu intrigued me - Interesting, creative, *Purposeful fusion*. Not like every other "Italian" restaurant in Tucson, touting themselves to be "authentic" when they resemble nothing of what served in Italy, and should be ashamed of what they serve. I digress... The quality of food at Zio Peppe was en pointe, and well-executed. A delightful surprise! They offered a unique menu, well-presented cuisine with taste that lived up to their description of it. A concise and thoughtful wine list. Loved the lambrusco!! Not pictured where some of the other dishes we ate that were delicious, the elote arancini, and the shrimp wolfberry linguine. For dessert we splurged and got their chocolate tarte and "Tacoloni" ( I may have gotten the names wrong but you can see in the picture what they are.) For the food being such a level of fine dining, the ambiance was more casual than I expected. Not a bad thing. Just noting it. The service was good. I was glad I took a scarf to cover my shoulders because it was really cold under the air conditioning that was compensating for the Wood Fired Pizza oven. I look forward to going back and trying many more delicious creations here!

Highly recommended for something different. We enjoyed trying several dishes that were both experimental and comfortable. Slightly distracted but super friendly staff. I selfishly hope this restaurant continues to be available to last minute diners like us lol.

This is easily the best restaurant in Tucson! The Mexican-Italian fusion is unbelievable. I'm excited to try the whole menu, but the Ravioli was exquisite! Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique tasting experience!

Phenomenal experience from beginning to end. The quality of food was awesome, and we had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. The prices were reasonable and even seemed like a bargain for the quality of food and service we received. Great for date night!

We had a selection of salads, pasta and pizza. It was all quite good. The server made a nice wine recommendation when my friends wanted to try a local wine. The dining room is small which is really nice, but means you need to plan your visit. It fills up quickly so I’d recommend reservations (open table). The other thing to consider is parking. The lot is small and shared so if it’s a weekend, give yourself enough time to find parking and not miss your reservation. Definitely worth the visit.

I had dinner here last night, and had one of the best meals I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time. The special was a venison rib chop, and it was absolutely incredible. Not only was it plated absolutely beautifully, but all of the flavors were fantastic and the meat was tender and cooked perfectly. I also had the umami tsunami pizza, which was delicious! I’d recommend the bread and spread as well. They serve it hot with olive oil, fresh grated garlic, and flaky salt. This place is a little pricey but the food is worth it. I hope they stick around for a while.
