This amazing monument is a U.S. National Monument at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The monument was unveiled on Oct 28, 2013. The monument was designed by the John Burnam Foundation, which represents the handlers, dogs and veterinary support for all military branches. In all my travels this is one of my personal favorite monuments, a true treasure! Our military service dogs should always be greatly appreciated!

Such a cool monument. It was great to see the sacrifice these wonderful dogs made throughout many battles. It is often easy to overlook their service, and I was glad to be reminded of it.

What a wonderful piece of artwork!!! Being a prior Military Working Dog Handler, it actually gave me goosebumps. Kudos to all who helped build this marvelous monument!!!

This place is AWESOME! So great that they created this monument for our Military Working Dog Handlers....especially at Lackland Air Force Base where the journey as a handler begins! Plenty of parking available nearby and it’s in a great spot that has access to a few other things to see in the area.

Beautifully done, among the few military working dog monuments. The one in Fayetteville NC is also worth checking out if you're in the area.

My daughter and son in law are dog handlers for police departments. It's great to see a monument dedicated to these awesome men, women and canines!

I loved it the kids loved it... since we're all dog lovers it was nice to see a memorial for the dogs used during war times.. it has a nice scenery with a walk way to see the planes used through out the years.

Nice and extremely well kept monument to working dogs. The sculptures are very detailed and easily recognizable. Is not very big but it's worth going to and learning more about something that isn't bright up very often. Close parking, wheelchair accessible easy to get to.

😠 I debated writing this review, because I really wanted this to be a great experience for my son’s 4th birthday party…. The owner herself is very nice and it seems like she wants this to be a good place for families to come… However. This location is seriously misrepresented on their website, and we...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Wonderful experience, this was on my bucket list, I could not have asked for better guides than Jerry and Rod. Safety was the top priority with having fun right there with it. Both made the experience of a couple of newbies (adult daughter with me) using humor and quite frankly patience unforgettab...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Well maintained park with beautiful scenery and friendly people. The pavilion includes a BBQ pit and plenty of seating. I'll be bringing the dogs on the next adventure.
