Elise was my postpartum Doula and if you are on the fence about getting a doula, the answer is yes. Especially if you will be a first time parent. It’s such an emotional journey and while your family and friends will all offer different types of support, they will often come emotionally charged or well intentioned yet unhelpful. Elise will offer exactly what you need bc you will tell her with no baggage attached. If you don’t know what you need she will help you figure that out. Sometimes she is just someone to talk to and complain to! It’s not just emotional support- it’s physical. Elise was originally my prenatal yoga teacher and her experience in yoga was such a help with my physical recovery. She also is very knowledgeable about how nutrition can help heal you during postpartum and alternatives to drugstore medicines if that’s your choice. She also helps with food prep, grocery pick up, and light housework. Or will hold the baby so you have time to do things yourself. She has a ton of resources for everything you might need that she can’t immediately provide herself and has a great community of moms on her Facebook group. Elise has so many qualifications but my biggest recommendation is that my partner and I trusted her at a time where we felt so protective and didn’t want anyone within 10 feet of our baby. We trusted her in our home and with the little love of our lives.

When Elise approached me to bring her Prenatal business into my space of Karma Yoga, I was thrilled. Her strong teaching and business skills allowed me to relax and know she would fully take care of my studio when she held her classes. There was no need for Karma Yoga staff when she was there saving me additional operating costs. What a treat to receive a check from Sweet Momma Yoga every month. It truly helped offset some regular expenses for me especially during the post-covid period when business was challenging. I loved having this important offering of yoga at my studio. It's a must to serve families bringing in new souls. Thank you Elise for all you do!

I recently completed the Fall 2022 PYTT program with Elise Bowerman. I genuinely cannot recommend this program enough. I learned more than I ever imagined I would, not only about Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga, but also how Yogic philosophy, Ayurveda, Trauma sensitivity, and Pelvic Floor health apply to and are integral aspects of the prenatal/postnatal journey. Elise also provided us with important information about how to build a business based on all that we have learned which felt so encouraging and supportive. She has also created a beautiful community for pre/postnatal teachers to connect and support each other. This is a very well-rounded and thoughtfully curated program. Elise is very passionate about what she teaches and it shows! Thank you for everything, Elise!

Elise is a warm-hearted and brilliant yoga teacher! She invests in each individual's experience due to her high level of sensitivity and attunement. She is business savvy and creative when it comes to developing niche business plans. I believe her prenatal training is the best out there and personally curated and customized to fit each students needs through individualized coaching. I am now confident to guide all birthing people on their pregnancy journey. Thank you Elise for a fantastic prenatal yoga program!

I am a prenatal chiropractor and have worked closely with Elise and many of her prenatal yoga students in the past 2 years. I consistently find that the women under my care that are also attending regular prenatal yoga classes with Elise experience less discomfort in their pregnancy, report stronger emotional connections to their bodies, and they consistently state they feel better prepared for labor and delivery. If you are looking for a way to safely exercise but also want a beautiful way to connect with your body prior to delivery seek out classes with Sweet Mama Yoga. Lastly, Elise goes above and beyond to create a sense of community for her students. She has created a thriving group of moms that support one another outside of the classes and virtually.

I’ve participated in Sweet Momma Yoga during both of my pregnancies and have benefited each time. Even on days when I feel tired and just wanted to put my feet up, I always felt better after class knowing that I am taking the best care of myself and my baby. Elise does an amazing job of making all of the moms feel welcome and comfortable no matter what previous yoga experience they’ve had. I got more out of Sweet Momma Yoga than I ever expected, benefiting both my pregnancy and birthing experiences. I would recommend them to any expecting momma!

Prenatal yoga was a special opportunity to connect with my body as it changed and grew to accommodate my baby, and to begin a relationship with my baby as well. Elise is a fantastic instructor, and this class is amazing no matter what kind of birth you are planning, and it is so amazing to have the support of other parents and to be in a judgement free zone.

Elise is an absolute gem! Our paths first crossed during doula training and we quickly became kindred spirits. Her knowledge of the human body combined with her gentle, compassionate approach to supporting others sets her apart. If you’re lucky enough to share space with her you will feel her calm, nurturing energy. It has been a privilege to work along side her and we are blessed to have her in the pregnancy/birthworker community!

I took Elise's pre-natal yoga class throughout my pregnancy and my husband and I also hired her to be our pre and postnatal Doula. Her yoga class taught me so much about by body, the power that my body held and gave me the confidence to be ready to birth naturally. Additionally, Elise was our families rock as our Doula. She empowered us with knowledge and curiosity to create our own birth story and stick to it. Pre birth she did home visits helping us to prepare our birth plan, guided us through medically terminology that may be used and armed us with information regarding consent. She bonded with our whole family including the birth of our daughter. Elise was in our delivery room supporting me and my husband through the most warm, loving and welcoming earth side birth. She and my husband were the people I trusted the most to hold my hand and guide me mentally and emotionally. Into postpartum care Elise was by my side several times a week making sure my needs were being met. She helped care for my baby, gave me time to shower/relax, recharge, sometimes we just sat and talked, she guided me through nutrition and how to nourish my new body. I could go on and on... I 10/10 would recommend Elise to be a apart of your birth journey in whatever capacity works for you!

I loved Sweet Momma Yoga's Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training that I took in early 2019. As a 200hr trained yoga teacher, I felt I learned an instrumental amount (way more than 85hrs!) of information from Elise. I'm confidently teaching prenatal yoga 2x per week feeling extremely confident in the movements I'm teaching, the information I'm sharing, and the community I'm helping to create because of this training. Prenatal yoga is so much more than modified poses, and Elise makes that very evident in her training. Now that the training is officially over, I feel I have a support system from Elise at any time; whether it's a business question, a question about a pose, or a little note sharing how special it was to see a Momma feel confident in her body and voice during her pregnancy. Elise and Sweet Momma Yoga are everything and more that I could've hoped for when I was searching for a training. Highly highly recommend. <3

I took my prenatal yoga teacher training through Sweet Momma Yoga. Elise is an incredible teacher with so much knowledge and passion for assisting women through the transition from pregnancy to motherhood. Through her training, I not only learned how to teach prenatal yoga, but was also able to refine the skills I gained in my 200 hour yoga teacher training. Elise has continued to provide support and reassurance and so have the other students who took the training at the same time I did. Even if you don't intend to teach prenatal, this training is so helpful in empowering women to trust their intuition and strength. I would highly recommend taking prenatal yoga teacher training with Elise at Sweet Momma Yoga!
