I had a great experience at Okuyama bodywork today. Highly recommend this place. Simple yet Warm Decoration When I went into the room, I was amazed of how spacious and clean it was compared with the other places I have been to before. I like the way the towels properly folded and that the light was not too bright nor too dark. The smells from the cute aroma diffuser made me feel very relaxed, physically and mentally. There is also body massage oil available to use if you like (I chose lavender! It smells nice and feels great!) Professional & Trust worthy Massager I had problem in sleeping and my back hurt for a couple of weeks. Micheal diagnosed my situation and quickly found the knots on my back and shoulders. His hand pressure is just perfect, making me feel like right to the point. The special technique Called “acupressure“, a technique from Japan, is beyond amazing. He used this technique, because I specially asked for a solution on the soreness on my legs after exercises. My legs and feet feel so greatly revived after. He also stood on my back at the end, the little deep breaths I had one after another made me feel totally rejuvenated. I had been to so many other massage places in Manhattan. Michael is the best! If you like any kind of massages, especially deep tissue massage, you don’t want to miss this place!

Mei is the best massage therapist I have found in NYC and I have tried many. She is technically proficient as well as intuitive. She listens to your needs and resolves your injuries in a painless, evenly paced way. The new office is beautiful, clean, spacious and conveniently located. The staff is warm and professional. I’ve been coming to the other location for many years. First time trying the new location. It’s bright and very clean and the rooms are spacious. Mei is fantastic and I always leave feeling better. She has magic hands and always knows what I need. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Okuyama for awhile and it’s a great place. They offer very good massages and it’s inexpensive. Often can get a last minute booking. Could walk in but best to call or text. I used to go to the other location but this new space is Chelsea is really nice. They’re good people, this is a legit massage and acupressure spot. I hope they build a following in Chelsea like they did in the Village.

I've had a long career (and shall I say) search for the best massage that I could find. Always adrift, never satisfied, moving from one supposed "great" masseuse after another. Always in vain; always ultimately disappointed. All that ended when I found Okuyama about eight years ago. A friend recommended Mei, insisting that her massage-work was like nothing she'd had before. Intrigued, I decided to try her out. This was three locations ago and I believe that if they somehow ended up on the moon that I'd find a way to get there! This review is less about the massages, as these will speak for themselves—they are some of the only ones I've ever had that accomplish any real therapeutic effect. No, I'm not going to wax poetic in this review about how deeply transformative these sessions can be if you come and make a commitment to return regularly. If you don't do this and meet the discomfort halfway its difficult to paint the proper picture. Let's put it this way, if you suffer in your body and want to learn how to eliminate it, come see Mei or Michael and keep coming, period. This review is about their new place. Since I have been to the others I'm in a position to comment on this one and it's evident progression from the earlier ones. This space is bigger, cleaner, more welcoming, and better equipped for the kind of work that these marvelous individuals can do. If you are looking for an amazing massage in a soothing environment you need not look any further. Take my eight years of dedicated experience as testament to improve your overall wellbeing.

A hidden gem in Chelsea. Okayama Acupuncture was highly recommended by a friend in the area. Staffs are very welcoming. Office is very clean and beautiful. Favorite relaxation place in town. Will defiantly come back. Highly recommended Mei and Micheal.

Great place! I get frequent headaches due to neck problems and knots. They really made sure to massage certain spots to relieve the ache. I will definitely be back! The interior is also a 5/5!

Best massage spot in the city! Have been to over 20/30 places in nyc, this is the most legit place. Michael found all the knots and used shiatsu style to fix all the knots. My body felt renewed afterwards! 10/10, definitely will come back all the time
