Bells Up is a fantastic small winery. Dave and Sara are equally fantastic and provide a very intimate and personalized visit and tour. My wife and I stumbled upon Bells Up celebrating our anniversary and fell in love with the wine and their story. Can’t wait to visit again!

The Perfect Small Winery Experience My family enjoys wine tasting week ends. But we also prefer the experience of the small winery to the large and more famous ones. At the latter the tasting experience is highly choreographed with a server bringing each round of wine and spilling out a canned spiel about each. At the small wineries we get to meet and talk with the winemaker himself or herself. And the wines are equally good. Bells Up provides an excellent experience. David and Sara are friendly hosts and love conversing casually about wines, winemaking, and the Willamette Valley. They build their customer base (as well as a loyal local volunteer support group) by building friendships. We live in Wisconsin but get out to Oregon at least once a year to see our daughter and son in law. We include a week end in the Willamette Valley and a stop at Bells Up each time. We enjoy trying out the new wines and leave with a few. My daughter and her husband are case club members.

I toured many wineries (15-20) in Willamette Valley, and this was by far my favorite. The wines are absolutely amazing — some of the best I’ve ever had, and definitely the best in the valley. Dave curates the wine flavors, and I have honestly never tasted wines that agreed so well with my palate. He also pairs them with the perfect music. If you’re looking for amazing wines and a truly unique experience, don’t miss this place!

Schedule a private tasting at Bells Up Winery and you won't be disappointed. The Specters provide a unique experience that builds a long-term relationship with wine and with them. I learned how to describe wine in a new way that made sense to me. This was a memorable event.

Absolutely delicious tasting wine at a very small winery of only 10 acres. The owner and his wife are the only two employees and do everything from planting vines to fermenting the wine. We very much appreciated this as it added a very personalized contribution to the creation of the wines Bells Up Winery sells. The owner creates a very welcoming atmosphere for the wine tasting and is extremely happy to answer any questions about the wine, Bells Up’s history, or even about his personal life. I highly recommend visiting for a tasting or even just ordering a bottle of my favorite, the Firebird, to try for yourself.

My wife and I were making a trip to the Willamette Valley and saw the logo of the French Horn. We have a dear friend who plays the French Horn in our local symphony and our son learned to play from him. Thus, the name drew us in but then we scheduled a tasting with Sara and met Dave for a wonderful 90 minute discovery of their philosophy, passion and adventure into wine growing and wine production. It was most enjoyable as we sipped outstanding wines and entered into their love of the land, the challenges of nature and the day-to-day demands that make such remarkable wines. If you want a very inspiring visit to Willamette, a beautiful vista over the valley and an experience of "thumbs up" fabulous white, red, sparkling, and rosé wines, then plan to visit Bells Up. It is now late October and our case of wine has arrived for the holidays–not sure it will last that long!

Our family has been enjoying wines from Bells Up Winery for years. We've never been disappointed with any of their varieties. They produce some of the Best Pinot Noirs we've ever tasted along with several of the other varieties they produce. We love the fact they are a boutique winery as they offer not only delicious wines, but a friendly atmosphere and service unmatched with others wineries. Salute to Bells Up!!!

The view was spectacular, the wines were very good, the host/owner was personable, insightful and an interesting conversationist. Two hours easily slipped away chatting with Dave, sipping the wines, and soaking in the valley views. The only reason for 4/5 stars is because at $65/person tasting fee, I'd expect more than just crackers & water... a small plate of cheese or seasonal fruits would seem reasonable for that tasting fee. FYI the tasting fee is waived if a taster purchases at least 3 bottles of wine.

Great wine, a great atmosphere and a fun afternoon with owner Dave and his wife Sara. We highly recommend spending an afternoon with them learning about the wine, the vines and ending with tasting delicious wines.

We did a couples wine trip to Oregon in February of 2023 and Bells Up was clearly one of the highlights. Our tasting with Dave & Sara was truly enlightening and there were no questions that we could ask that did not include an insightful answer. The wines we tasted were awesome and are now a favorite part of our wine cellar stock. ( We love the musical theme to the wine names) We will go see these great people every time we go out to Willamette Valley wine country!

Dave is very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s nice to see people can follow their dreams. The tasting area is new, clean and nice. The wine is very unique and not your typical selection which is interesting. The tasting fee for the selection and pours is quite expensive comparatively. They were also sold out of many options which limited the tasting. They have very high potential and I am excited to follow their journey. I would go back in a few years
