Skip the unprofessional 'emergency room' here.. the check in staff are great but security is abusive and rude. The doctors are totally unprofessional, but what less can one expect from Geisinger overall.. absolutely horrible organization

In November of 22 my husband was in the ICU at gesinger hospital in Wilks Barre. Dr.McDonalds gave up on my husband and told me to call hospic to bring him home with. But she was extremely wrong he came home without hospic . I can't believe that she gave up on him so fast.

People/staff very nice. Was in ER. Security guy needs to know he is not paid for his opinion about patients waiting a very long time. The wait here is long with no real info on what's going on with you. It was a Monday 4 30 pm. Really think the health care system is broken. People in Er for non threatening issues. I am sure to them it's bad. But filter these people to other care. Figure it out. Make it better. I was there and left after 4.5 honest hours. Other lady. Very politely told them she was here for 7.5 hours. This is where Security....opened his mouth. Not needed.

When for X-ray at 3 pm waiting for about 1 hour, I ask the lady, why so much waiting for an x-ray, she when too check why the delay, she Come back and say I have to wait from 20, to 1/2 hour more, so I left without my X-ray done. So sad, very bad service.

I don't know what to say here to many chiefs. They really can't communicate with each other and their heads are to far in covering up their own mistakes. My MIL has been admitted twice in the last two months for the exact same issue. The first time the attending doctor was nice and kept everyone informed, the second time the doctor refused to meet with family and her she was obviously getting worse. On paper she was fine but not in reality. There were so many issues and mistakes made on discharge no explanation either. It took us two days to sort everything out going through the patient lasison but she was covering the PA's behind. Again wrong medication was sent over to the rehab facility she was sent to. They even discharged her with a fever but made sure they always took her temp with Tylenol so they could discharge her. She went in talking in full sentences and was discharged slurring her words and the doctors didn't care.

Usually I have a great experience and helpful medical treatment here. I had a cough no fever and explained I have asthma. She told me I could not be seen.I had to go to er. I sat there 4 hours without treatment for something that could have easily been treated at urgent care.

I’m currently here at the facility and initially the experience was great from the E.R. Staff but I’ve been admitted to a room due to pneumonia and my I.V. Site is compromised it’s very hard to get an I.V going and I suffered a few failed attempts that left me extremely sore on both hands and arms until this wonderful lady named Eileen showed up hands of an Angel, so now I’m extremely disappointed because that site had gotten compromised due to me moving in my sleep so Eileen saved the day again and wrapped it to keep it steady when not in use. However I’m currently getting attitude from a youngman who I asked to have the site freshly taped and wrapped so I can get some rest at 12:30AM mind you it became damp in the shower that he covered haplessly to begin with and he wants to put tape on it🤦🏾‍♂️I can’t make this up I feel bad for our nurses because they are understaffed however I know the difference from fatigue and just plain complacency

I had to go to the emergency room because of a traumatic injury. I was in so much pain I thought I was going to be sitting for hours to my surprise I was ushered in almost immediately, provided pain medication and was cared for by the best nurses especially nurse Chase he was absolutely superb and made my experience alot less traumatic with positive vibes and his caring attitude ❤️ Thank you all for taking care of me.

I found this hospital and all it's staff to be very helpful. They took good care of my mom while she was there. I have no complaints what so ever.

The woman at the desk in the emergency room was very nice. The wait was very long, but that was okay. My sons phlebotomy nurse was super charismatic and funny and made my son laugh when he was feeling scared.

Worst hospital experience of my entire life. Terrible terrible terrible place. No sense of urgency, no care, everyone just goes through the motions and takes 12 hours to do it. This place shouldn’t even be open.

I took my daughter to their emergency room tonight because pediatric urgent care was closed. And it was the best experience I've had in a ER. I wish I would have gotten her name, but the wonderful lady who was sitting in the waiting room at the computer was the kindest sweetest lady. Her and I talked while I waited for my daughter to be seen, my wait time was fast and she also helped me carry my daughters car seat and diaper bag to the back room. And once in the back she continued to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. Then once in the back everyone was also so nice and sweet will definitely be my new ER when needed.

I get sick frequently and this is the only hospital/urgent care i will come to. The staff is so extremely friendly and do whatever they can to help. They really care for their patients. I highly recommend this hospital

I went to the ER on sunday, jan 4th with a broken wrist and a broken arm and i seriously have never met such hilarious, kind, and down to earth staff in a hospital. They made my trip 1,000 times easier. Shout out to kathy, the younger male nurse who was taking care of me (adrian or aidan im sorry cant remember 😭), amanda, and the doctor tyler for giving me the best experience ive had so far with medical staff in a hospital.
