A yoga studio gem hidden in one of the best kept secrets of upstate New York! The studio is well lit, spacious and grounding. A conveniently located heaven with a welcoming community and knowledgeable teachers. I stayed in Newburgh for a month just to practice here and would do so again! Congrats on all the future success, Bibi! PS - An easy train ride up from the city; swing by and get a hip shirt!

My fiancé and I specifically chose to spend a couple of weeks in Newburgh (all the way from Brooklyn...) because of its yoga studio, and what we experienced was an absolute delight! Newburgh Yoga Shala is a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley. The owner, Bibi, has cultivated an amazing community of welcoming teachers and fellow practitioners alike; her studio is a reflection of her years of dedicated practice infused with endless passion and love. Newburgh Yoga Shala is deeply rooted in Ashtanga yoga and yogic philosophy, offering Mysore practice five days a week, along with daily Vinyasa and Yin classes. On the days when Bibi leads the Mysore practice, she arrives early and chants the Hanuman Chalisa, providing an option for you to join in or begin your practice. Either way, it's a beautiful start to the day. In addition to Mysore practice, we also participated in a handful of Vinyasa and Yin classes led by various instructors. Each instructor guided us through thoughtful and intelligent classes, accommodating beginners, addressing injuries and physical limitations, and most importantly, exuding authentic kindness. A special shout-out goes to the Yin class that perfectly balanced exertion with relaxation, leaving us feeling as if we were floating on clouds, completely stress-free for the rest of the evening. Whether you're a local from Newburgh or the Hudson Valley seeking to embark on a yoga journey or deepen your practice, or if you're city dwellers like us in need of a rejuvenating escape, Newburgh Yoga Shala is the place to make your yoga home.

The very first time I took Vinyasa class with Danielle, i felt that this was it, I finally found the yoga school/sanctuary I would like to come back again and again; the energy of the space communicated with me the same language, the quality of teaching was superb. The owners made sure to create safe and comfortable environment for the practitioners, from the simple yet sophisticated design of the studio to the heated wooden floors. Thanks to Bibi’s intelligent guidance i was able to start deepen my practice to the point that I now feel knowledgeable and confident enough to practice on my own. There are so many amazing parts that make up the Shala community: true dedication, discipline, spirit of union, encouraging for growth and support from like-minded people.

As a person who is totally unfamiliar with yoga but was interested in learning more, the beginners course could not have been more perfect for me. It helped me build a foundation of both the postures/movements as well as the fundamental framework and ideology of what yoga is. Gina is a ray of sunshine and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have been able to learn from her during her time at the Shala. I am now a member of the NYS and excited to continue growing my practice!

Since moving to the Hudson valley from Long Island during covid, I had been searching for the perfect yoga studio. Newburgh Yoga Shala has the best yoga experience that I have found anywhere within an hour’s drive by FAR. Every teacher is absolutely amazing.. they are all so welcoming, knowledgeable, encouraging, helpful and kind. The class schedule is consistent and plentiful, atmosphere and vibes are outstanding. They even have tons of extras like sound baths, potlucks, teacher training programs, and yoga retreats in fun places. Over the past year the Shala has become my happy place. My physical health, mental health, flexibility and strength continue to be improved vastly with every class I attend. Better than therapy, 1000000/10.

Yoga Shala is a special place. I spent a month in Newburgh over the summer and took advantage of their generous unlimited intro offer. The sense of community they've cultivated is really unique. The vinyasa classes are challenging for advanced yogis, but also inclusive and approachable for all levels. All of the instructors are really wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this studio - Newburgh's lucky to have such a wonderful spot.

The owners and teachers speak often of the sense of community yoga creates and the studio does just that for us - we love being a part of the Shala. Energy is great and the classes are terrific.

When I walked into the Shala I was at a critical juncture in my healing from postpartum depression, anxiety and clinical burnout. Everything I'd been working on and towards seemed to fuse together after my very first class. And then I took my first class with Bibi. I've only been in the presence of three people so far in my life, that seem to fully embody their life's purpose, and Bibi is one of them. You are immediately at home and supported at Newburgh Yoga Shala. It's a beautiful school where you can find yourself, community, friends, physical strength, emotional support. And PLAY! You might come for the yoga, whatever that means to you, but I guarantee you'll stay for the people and the community. Radiant heat flooring is a pretty sweet bonus for the north east winters!! As are the myriad workshops offered on the weekend so you can deepen your practice. Sign up for that Intro Special, simply show up to breath, and see what happens! xx

Best yoga in the Hudson Valley (and beyond)! Bibi, one of the co-owners comes from NYC and brings that level of teaching caliber and Austin is local to Newburgh so they provide the best of both worlds and have experienced teachers offering a range of classes. This is the only studio to go to in the area if you want well trained teachers connected to the original forms of yoga!

I have loved every minute of every class I’ve taken at this wonderful studio. Bibi is an amazing teacher and it is clear that each of the instructors has been chosen with extreme care and intention. I frequent Braeden’s Sunday am class and it is always a joyful, challenging highlight of my weekend. This is not just your average yoga studio. I cannot recommend this place enough.

My wife and I recently spent three weeks in Newburgh (from San Francisco) and “found” the Newburgh Yoga Shala. We went there every day, and sometimes twice a day—Mysore in the mornings with Bibi and Vinyassa/Restorative with Eli. Bibi took a personal interest in us and our training which I think comes from her pride of ownership of this unique studio-welcoming us into the Newburgh yoga community. During the daily Mysore practices, she trained everyone from beginners (us) to experts, spending time with each of us in the class. I wish we could go on the Yoga Retreat this summer in Mallorca. There is no question that Bibi and Jacquie will make the retreat an unforgettable experience—between the trainings, the meditations, the resort activities, and the yoga community that they will create.

Heartwarming studio staffed with a diverse group of accomplished teachers well versed in the many facets of Yoga.  All of the classes are remarkable and curated, and the instructors are adept at teaching basic and advanced poses with props and modifications safely. Mysore is a great class to experience yoga through a personalized approach.

My favorite yoga studio! Even though there are others closer to me, I generally gravitate towards this one. I love the community vibe. Everyone is super friendly and are open to beginners as well which makes me feel especially welcome. I also enjoy the mantras and education of yoga philosophy plus amazing workshops and retreats.

The Newburgh Yoga Shala is a wonderful yoga studio. The teachers are very knowledgeable, and serious about their practice, but also warm and welcoming and very comforting and comfortable to take classes from. For me, the fact that The spiritual aspect is so important in this Shala makes it a truly fulfilling and all encompassing experience every time, with every teacher. I am challenged in the best way every time I go to a class.

This studio - and everyone in it - are great. I've done about 25 classes there so far. I go on the weekends usually, and the classes are always unique in certain ways, and I always float out of there and into my weekend. Bibi is a great teacher! They all are. And I love that they have a harmonium, and there's always something going on, community-wise. Highly recommend, but don't steal my spot!

I am so thrilled to have found your studio. Your style resonates with me because it reminds me of my teachers from my early days of yoga. The studio has terrific energy. I am happy to be present. Applause to you for your vision.
