Minimal fee to get your car in, free without a car. The column is beautiful with pretty amazing artwork going around it. Trying to see it all isn't easy since you need to crane your neck and walk all around it. If you're in decent shape, I highly recommend climbing the stairs to the top. It's a lot of stairs and they aren't very wide for passing people (up vs. down), but it's manageable. The view from the top is really great. Highly recommended!

It’s a must see if you visit Astoria. You need to pay $5 for each car (you can use the pass for 1 year) You get 360’ awesome views. You can climb the stairs to the top of the column which is a great experience itself. There are picnic tables and a gift shop. Grab a sandwich and enjoy the million dollar views.

If you want great views of Astoria and its surrounding a visit to the column is a must. Parking is $5 per car and the pass is good for a year. You can climb the 164 steps all the way to the top of the tower to get a birds eye view of the entire area as well. We went on a Thursday morning right when it opened at 10 am.

Thrilling and a bit scary to climb up the winding staircase to the top. There are no windows inside the column - not recommended if you’re claustrophobic and/or have bad knees/hips/heart. Also think it’s not the place for small children who can’t climb the stairs on their own. It can get pretty congested on the narrow staircase. Please be mindful and respectful of other visitors! We made it to the top on a clear day. The view is outstanding. I was afraid to get close to the edge on the small (tiny!) observation deck so I stayed against the wall. Best feeling was descending the stairs and stepping out into the sunshine with a feeling of “wow! I did it!”

I had a great time visiting as this was a surprisingly fun monument to visit! The climb wasn’t too bad to the top and the views are incredible! You can buy a small glider and throw it from the top for just $1! The entrance fee is $5 and there is a good gift shop which has plenty of merchandise to buy! I highly recommend it when visiting Astoria!

Buy gliders! They are a buck each in the gift shop, and you get to toss them off the top. At 47, I am still not to old to enjoy watching a small glider sail around. On windy days they go, it seem like forever, but was 30 seconds at a minimum. There are 164 steps up a spiral staircase to overcome before you are able to take in the glorious views. Each way you look is just as great as the last. A $5 parking pass is needed, but after you buy it from the nice guy on the way into the parking lot, the pass is good for a year.

The parking fee is $5.00 per vehicle per visit. The downhill views are amazing and breathtaking. You can go inside the Column but it is quite high btw. There is a small Cathedral Tree trail nearby if you are interested. It worths your time to visit so please come

The entrance parking fee here is $5.00, and it's a year-round price, so it's not a burdensome price, but I parked my car on the shoulder on the way up and walked up the grassy hill to get here. It's a hot spot where you can see the east, west, north and south scenery from the top of Astoria, and it's connected to the Cathetral trail, and there's a trail road to the city. It was very good. If you come to Astoria for sightseeing, I think it's a place you must go, and there are picnic tables and benches where you can eat while looking at the great scenery, so I recommend you to bring food or coffee. If you go up to the tower, you can see a better view, but I didn't go up because it's a dog-no-friendly area. The service dog can be accompanied, except service dog ,, I highly recommend this place and good place of dating and propose spot in my opinion.

Stunning and absolutely gorgeous views! We did the short hike to Cathedral Tree that was fairly easy for the most part(highly recommend good walking shoes). Climbed the tower(164 steps) and it was worth the exercise. Amazing panoramic vista's!

Five dollars per car to get into the park. The column is impressive!! My husband made the 165 stair trek to the top. I took pics from the ground and didn’t have sore calf muscles for 2 days lol I don’t do heights. But the views from the ground were just as beautiful! It’s absolutely worth the visit!

Visited on a sunny afternoon and views across Columbia River are amazing. Megler Bridge also looks amazing. The column itself is covered in historic paintings and can be climbed internally up a 264 step steel spiral stairway. Viewing platform at top gives great views. Only $5 to enter and park and also a small gift shop. Great stop for an hour.

This is a very cool column with 164 stairs to get to the top where you have 360 degree views. There is a $5 fee for parking which gives you access to the column as well as a couple hiking trails from the parking lot. The area is beautiful and I recommend checking it out if you're near Astoria.

Parking is $5 per vehicle. Entering the column is free. There is a little gift shop as well. I definitely recommend walking to the top of the column. The view from the top is incredible! You can also buy a glider plane for $1 in the gift shop before walking up the column that you can fly from the top.

Enjoy the stunning views of the Columbia river. If you have the heart, try climbing the 265 steps of the tower and you'll be rewarded with the 360 degree view of the area in all its majesty. However, I suggest that you visit the souvenir shop first before you go up as this is where you can get your gliders. Adult and kids alike enjoy sending off these toy gliders from the top.

Went up the stairs, had to catch my breath several times, but the view is worth it. Not for faint of heart about heights. Kids sent some balsa airplanes off that stayed in the wind for quite a while. Lovely place worth visting.

$5 parking for a stunning view and a rather terrifying stair climb for those bold enough to want a view from the top. There are platforms to rest and let others pass on the way up, but no rescue elevator. There are a few picnic tables and a clean bathroom. I didn't look in the gift shop. Some happy people took advantage of the good weather to sit in the permanent wooden chairs and read. Some people brought biodegradable (wooden) airplanes to fly from the top of the column.

We visited the Astoria Column the morning prior to driving back home. The weather did not cooperate, we could barely see anything due to the fog and it was extremely windy. It’s up a hill, about few minutes from our hotel. The drive was pretty anxious, we went through some steep and curvy roads. We attempted to go up the tower but I couldn’t keep up due to so many stairs, about 164 spiral staircase to be exact. My husband did make it up to the tower but the visibility was slim due to the fog. I still managed to capture few pics although it was nearly impossible. There are plenty of parking spaces, the lot includes a gift shop and restrooms. There’s a $5 parking fees for the whole year. We’ll definitely be back but probably not during fall/winter season.

I do recommend visiting this place. The views from the top of the tower are really pretty especially if you get to go when the weather it's sunny and clear. It's a small fee of $5 to enter the park which is well worth it. There's bathrooms and they're clean.

The view is spectacular, to say the least! Don’t miss this! The only expense is the charge for parking, which was $5 per car. There is a very small store with all the normal gift shop stuff you need. There is also a nearby trail for additional adventures!

I love this column so much. It’s like seeing the Statue of Liberty in someways. Five dollar entrance fee for the entire year. Since I’m staying here for the month it’s so worth it. Weather day or night it’s a beautiful thing to do. The light show is really wonderful at night. And the day show of seeing all the rivers in the water in the ocean and the history is excellent.

Cute gift shop. Very well kept grounds. 160 stairs to the top of the column. You can buy a plane and set it a sail from the top of the column. I was one of the first to set a plane a sail fifteen years ago from. Great preservation society the maintains this wonderful monument. Also forest bathing with the trees.
