This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend so we decided to make a 8 person reservation to see if they can handle the pressure. They definitely exceeded out expectations. We asked to be seated outside in their covered porch because it was going to be nice out. Although it was quite warm outside, the fans made it comfortable. Service was excellent, we were greeted immediately, given the specials, and had our bottles uncorked. It's a BYOB restaurant but they also have a wine list. The food was delicious. We started with octopus appetizer and prosciutto and burrata. Then tried a mix of spaghetti, steaks and fish's, all very good. It was delicious meal and experience and we will definitely be back.

Mangia Toscano is located right on Main Street in Metuchen. The place is modern yet warm. There are tables outside, too. Excellent service, BYOB. The food is Authentic Italian, with a modern twist. I had the special linguine with vongole (clams), my friend Pici (thick noodles typical of Tuscany) with duck ragout. Excellent. Both. The pasta is clearly fresh and al dente. The addition of bread crumbs is not typical for Italy (except sicily) but it was a great fit. Making linguine with clamd without too much liquid is difficult. Clams release a lot of water. But the Chef did. Chapeau. They brought us focaccia and oil for the table, plus an appetizer on the house (unexpected surprise). It was Prosciutto e Melone (Cantaloupe and Prosciutto). Also this one was a bit different from the traditional one, but very good. The prices are just right considering quality, location and ambiance. The portions are good. You will not go home hungry. As a Native Italian, I find Mangia Toscano to be one of the best authentic italian restaurants in NJ. I'm definitely going back and add more pics.

A lovely new addition to Metuchen’s varied restaurant options. Loved the photos of Florence on the walls and the sleek decor. Food was excellent. I was a big fan of the spinach salad which wasn’t even mine to begin with, ended up eating most of it. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The NJ wine was surprisingly good as well! I recommend this restaurant, will be back.

Bring your own wine! Or buy the local they offer. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Reservations are a must or be prepared to be turned away. We arrived earlier than our reservation but were immediately seated. The restaurant is immaculate and very well kept. Inside the AC is a little cold and the conversation is loud so we were glad we booked the patio. I was seriously impressed with the preparedness of this restaurant for any weather change and from what I understand there is winter seating out there too. The exterior walls of the patio are all remote and super quiet when they open and close. Our server David was very polite and friendly. Answered our questions and made great suggestions. The food was outstanding... and David suggested we share everything so we ordered the octopus app... excellent choice. For dinner first they brought us 2 plates of the Duck Ragù with spaghetti and it was very rich and savory. We both enjoyed very much. Then the branzino fish came out after and we enjoyed this dish very much as well. Almost too full at this point, portions were generous, but wanted to try the Toscano pie. Don't care if this was refrigerated and microwaved... (as most restaurants do)just saying... it was excellent regardless. At no time were we rushed nor did it seem they were anxious to turn the tables super fast as other such experiences. It was a very nice relaxed(patio) atmosphere experience with an exceptional menu to choose from. Overall very satisfied and would absolutely dine here again.

Everything was delicious!!!! And our server Julian was wonderful!!! You can't go wrong with anything you order here. Red snapper was super fresh and tender, the oysters were some of the best we ever had, gnocchi was insanely delicious.

My fiancée and I hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here and Mangia completely surpassed our expectations! Perrine had phenomenal communication throughout this planning process, and even created custom menus to fit your events theme was such a nice detail. Her and her team were excellent day of as well, I received so many compliments on how kind and on top of things the staff was. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous, it really requires little decor because the live edge wood tables, leather chairs, and moss wall accents really did it all for you. Now for the food…. Outrageously delicious!! I received rave reviews from all of my guests on how impressed they were with the quality and freshness of each of their meals. Everyone was so impressed with the food demonstration as well…the tiramisu in flower pots were to die for! There was no detail missed throughout the entire evening and I’m so excited to host another event here in the future!

I love Mangia. I’ve been here about 3 times and each time I go there I’m pretty impressed. We recently sat at the outdoor dining section and the atmosphere is just so chill. Our waiter was the absolute best, very personable and funny. Our food was AMAZING. I got the raviolo ricotta e spinaci and I ate the entire thing. So yummy. And the tiramisu is always good here.

We had a great experience here! David was very personable. Everyone got a pasta dish but our favorite one was the quattro formaggi gnocchi for sure! The pasta was very light and the cheese was incredible. They do sell Jersey wine here but also BYOB. Dessert we got the tiramisu and the panna cotta. David recommended going with either the strawberry or chocolate; we got the strawberry and did not disappoint! Definitely would recommend coming here! We will be back!

I have had this gem on my list of places to try for a very long time. It met and exceeded my expectations. We were a party of 3, went on a Sunday evening for dinner. We had reservations and were seated promptly on arrival. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious, full of flavor and you can most definitely tell it was made with love. Plate presentation was beautiful. The desserts were fresh and not too sweet, paired perfectly with our coffee. It’s a BYOB place but they also have bottles for sale. The owner/chef kept walking around, bringing food out, paying attention to the front of the house and checking up on tables. The bathroom was very clean. Kid-friendly as well, I did see children. There was also a private party being held in their heated patio. I will most certainly be back! Very pleased 10/10

I wanted to like this place and was excited to try it. But was really disappointed in the food. The service was great and the place itself is really nice. The lasagna meat and sauce was good but the lasagna noodles itself were over cooked and had no bite to it. It just felt like a bunch of mush. I didn’t finish it. I will say the service was good and I did enjoy the focaccia. But really felt disappointed and unsatisfied, maybe I came on a off day.

First time dining last night, it was my birthday, very great atmosphere and the food was amazing, of course I love Italian food but my boyfriend is very picky but even he said as soon as he was half way done with his meal that we are definitely coming back! I loved seeing the connection between the kitchen and customers it was so cute. Our server was amazing and it’s killing me that I don’t remember his name, but overall the staff is great too!

A surprisingly intimate opportunity to enjoy the work of a Michelin-starred chef in a small-town setting. A recent renovation takes you further into the experience of eating Northern Italian cuisine, with earthy tones to support the menu and specials often boasting game, imported cheeses, ample steaks and inventive seafoods, all followed expertly by stunning house-made desserts. Do not miss your chance to experience this Jersey gem.
