This is the greatest lake on the Northeast in my opinion. We go here every year and rent a cottage on the lake. Warmer water because it's not too big and deep compared to Seneca lake. Also doesn't get too overcrowded with boats. Their is also a lot of fantastic winery's on either side of Keuka.

Been going to Keuka lake in the summer for years for boating and vacationing at cottages around the lake. It is our favorite finger lake due to the breadth of things to do and places to go--some truly great wineries, museums, restaurants. The reason for the 4 stars vs 5 is Hammondsport. There is literally no public boat launch in Hammondsport (other than the one for residents). So if you are planning a vacation in or near Hammondsport and you're bringing your boat, plan on not being able to launch it (unless you are staying at the Keuka Lakeside Inn--they have nice launch ramps and docks reserved for guests). Hopefully Hammondsport and the state will get together and consider a location for public boat launching on the south end of the lake; otherwise things may go sideways for what is supposedly the 'coolest small town in America'.

We rented a cottage on Keuka Lake this past summer. We made such wonderful memories with over 16 family members in and out during our week together. The house we rented was gigantic, modern, and beautiful. It had all the main amenities and linens etc were there for you to enjoy. There were several eat out areas in the property, a fire pit, a motor boat, row boat, and paddle boat. What an absolute blast. Could not have picked a better place to accommodate us all. The neighbors were great and all the kids played in each other's properties together ( just like the old days) There was a floating ice cream boat that goes dock to dock on the weekends. It is so cool. Just Google it to find out hours and feel free to phone and ask where the ice cream boat's current location is so you do not miss it. The only thing that was a negative was there's lots of weeds and mud in the swimming area but we all made do on that. Beautiful lake, nice warm water. So many great memories made there. Great for reconnecting with loved ones.

See us on FB @ wineaway on 54a. We enjoy all the nature, wineries, breweries, and general vibe of the Finger Lakes region of NY. Something for everybody.

The best of the fingerlakes. Not the largest of the fingerlakes, but the most enjoyable. It's surrounded by wineries and hills. Hammondsport is easy access to the lake, with lots of fun food and bars.

What a beautiful lake. There are many places to just pull over and look at the beautiful view. And there are a ton of places to rent for vacation along the lake. Also a ton of wineries to drink and eat at. I would definitely recommend traveling to this lake.

One of the warmer Finger Lakes. Penn Yan is great with a cool down town. Be sure to check out the worlds biggest buckwheat pancake griddle.

Beautiful lake! Quiet and family friendly. They had lifeguards there during the day too!
