We
would
stay
again
at
this
hidden
gem
in
Iowa.
We
(family
of
5
with
3
children)
stopped
here
on
a
cross-country
road
trip.
To
start,
the
staff
was
friendly
and
accommodating.
They
didn't
even
crack
a
smile
when
operator
error
had
us
unable
to
work
our
television.
The
room
was
huge,
the
bed
was
comfortable
(a
sleep
number
adjustable
bed),
the
bathroom
was
a
great
size,
there
was
actual
water
pressure,
and
it
was
clean.
The
rooms
are
a
bit
"dated,"
but
the
beds
were
comfortable
and
clean.
It
felt
like
it
was
owned
by
family,
and
we
were
staying
in
their
house.
Breakfast
in
the
morning
was
quaint,
something
like
what
mom
might
make
on
a
school
day.
Hot
sausages,
boiled
eggs,
cereal
and
milk,
toast
and
bagels,
and
orange
juice.
We
felt
it
was
a
great
hidden
gem
we
found
halfway
between
big
cities.
There
is
a
Denny's
on
this
exit,
a
short
drive
away.
There
is
a
Pilot
gas
station
with
a
Subway
sandwich
shop
inside
in
the
same
parking
lot.
There
were
a
few
more
things
a
few
miles
away,
but
we
didn't
need
to
go
there.
There
is
no
pool,
but
our
kids
loved
having
space
in
the
room
to
spread
out,
color,
and
play
with
toys.
There
was
a
roku
on
the
television,
so
we
could
sign
into
our
accounts
to
watch
basically
anything
we
wanted,
but
there
was
also
satellite
television,
so
we
could
watch
the
news
or
anything
else.
The
ice
machine
also
made
the
coolest
shaped
ice
cubes
I
have
ever
seen.
