Stayed here for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend and let me tell you, what an Amazing experience this was. The staff from the very beginning were friendly and made you feel at home. The two boxers were the welcoming committee and were absolutely adorable! The dinner service at the restaurant was a five star experience that should not be missed. We stayed in the Holly cottage and it was one of the most peaceful stays. We had a beautiful secluded view of the mountains and no interruptions. We were both sad when our stay came to an end and we had to check out, but we are already planning our next trip and will be looking forward to stay at The Orchard Inn for another amazing experience.

My husband and I got married at the Orchard Inn and it was easily one of the most magical weekends of our lives! I could write for days about our wonderful experience but I’ll try to keep it short. From the moment we booked the Inn for our wedding weekend, they made us feel at ease. It was so much easier then having multiple vendors- the Orchard Inn took care of the food (Newman’s Restaurant), cake, flowers, and setup. Honestly I just had to show up! 😅 The owners Marianne and Marc and their son Adam were all so helpful and those 3 (okay, also every wonderful staff member) are the reason the wedding went off without a hitch and was so wonderful. Our guests have given us a plethora of comments on all things Orchard Inn, and many say it is easily the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever been too. We love the quiet, unique but somehow familiar, charming atmosphere- and don’t forget the absolutely stunning views of the mountains!

The dogs are cute and the grounds and dining deck are beautiful. The accommodations are too rustic for us and too small. The dinner staff were excellent as was the meal that night, breakfast was decent, but nothing special. They desperately need to renovate the bathrooms and update the gross, worn furniture. I am truly surprised to read all of the perfect reviews, our stay was pretty bad and I wouldn’t return. The innkeepers turned sour when we complained about the room being small and didn’t feel comfortable staying there. We said we’d like a refund and we’re going to stay somewhere else. The wife begged us to stay and said she’d give us an upgrade to a cottage as a gift. She was insistent and this was a kind gesture, so we stayed. The cottage also had old eclectic furniture (looks like it’s from the side of the road), a window air conditioning unit, and a cracked vanity, but it was much bigger and we appreciated her gesture. Upon checkout the husband presented us with a bill for dinner and the room upgrade. We were surprised given she had stated the room upgrade was a gift to us. We let him know what had happened, and he responded that he knew our situation, but that they do not give free room upgrades for instances where we find the room unsatisfactory (he said it was the first time he’d had a complaint about the room furniture and size, which I highly doubt). We asked to speak with his wife, who he said was out, so he called someone (presumably her) and walked away. He came back and said that they are only willing to cover half the upgrade. We agreed because it was really awkward and I guess she didn’t explicitly state that it was free, but we did feel misled given she had said it was a gift to us. UPDATE: our stay was recent. We most certainly did not have an updated bathroom.

I realized I didn't do a review from my stay in Nov 2021. The visit was lovely so I wanted to share. Myself along with 8 other women attended a two day retreat hosted by a colleague and friend. The Orchard Inn accommodated us all. We utilized a room in the Spa as our meeting area each day which is more recently built building than the Inn as a reference. You reach the Spa via a short stone step walk with trickling water. Sooooo peaceful. It also has balcony chairs to take in the peace and beauty. The views from both the Spa and the Inn, especially in early November, was filled with multiple colors and hawks flying overhead. The breakfast and lunch area is filled with windows and you can certainly take in the views as well as local birds. We had a gathering by the large gas firepit one night. There are rocking chairs and swings and little places here and there to read a book. There is a sprawling front porch that welcomed you. I stayed in the large cottage with one of the other retreat guests. It was really too large for our needs but we thought we'd have a third person when registering. It worked perfectly for us to chat at night after the days events and was only a short walk to thr main part of the Inn. The furniture is indeed rustic (I saw a negative comment in another review) however it is well taken care of and very comfy. My vanity appeared to be antique and quite beautiful. I slept like a baby which is unusual for me when I travel. I was enthralled by the number of plants including the large and heavy blooming Christmas cacti. I share this as it shows the love and daily care that goes into the Inn. The town of Saluda is lovely and filled with shops that welcome you as a friend, not a stranger just as they did at The Orchard Inn. I really need to schedule a visit and bring my husband.

I’ve been blessed to eat in wonderful restaurants in San Francisco, New York, France, Italy and around the world. I’m proud to have “The Orchard Inn” here in Saluda, NC just 3 miles from my home. Service was professional, friendly and personable. The food was simply outstanding! And, the venue of eating in a beautiful historic peaceful restaurant like “Newmans” at the Orchard Inn is like no other place I’ve been. Trust me, you need to try it to believe it.

Absolutely perfect weekend getaway at the Orchard Inn for our wedding anniversary celebration. This bed and breakfast inn has the most gorgeous Fall scenery overlooking the Appalachian mountain range. We were given a tour of the property by Adam at checkin, Katie made it easy at checkout and our server Sarah really made our breakfast dining experience outstanding. Overall the staff was so helpful and friendly during our stay. Definitely a solid 5-star review place, we will try to make another visit to the Orchard Inn.

The Orchard Inn has got to be one of the best places I’ve ever visited and stayed in. The people really make the experience. Everyone is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are very clean and cute. The bathrooms are also very nice and updated! The dinner here is definitely worth the price because you’re paying for the experience AND for quality food. Waking up to the smell of breakfast cooking downstairs was awesome. The food was paired with a wonderful view from the back porch. It was a lovely weekend getaway with my boyfriend, couldn’t have picked a better spot. I look forward to our future visits.

Absolutely amazing people! They did an awesome job with our small wedding. Everything we requested from them was done perfectly. The inn is beyond beautiful, the staff are friendly and hospitable, and the food is amazing. My guests were stunned by the venue we chose. Thank you so much to everyone at the Orchard Inn. We can’t wait to come back!

I usually don’t write reviews and I have waited until now to do so. My husband and I and another couple made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner for the second seating at 6:45. We waited for approximately 30 minutes for a table to clear and be seated. It was a VERY expensive evening for food that was barely warm and not very good. The coffee was not even hot to have with dessert which was the best food of the evening.

My daughter and I were looking for a base for area day trips and lucked into a last-minute stay at the Orchard Inn. We never wanted to leave the Orchard. Just a few of the small details that added up to an amazing stay: cozy bedding, great shower pressure, quiet everywhere, delicious breakfast on the porch watching birds at the feeders feet away (with a bird guide sheet for identifications), porch rockers and swing for our morning coffee, comfy reading nook, sofas for wine by the fireplace, books everywhere, beautiful mountain views. Each staff member we came in contact with (including the dog) made us feel at home. We ate dinner at their restaurant, Newmans, when we arrived, and found it to be top notch. To call this a charming inn seems cliche, but it was an absolute delight. The town of Saluda is minutes away and a fun destination, as is Pearson Falls, beautiful waterfalls with an easy quarter mile hike. We will definitely return, and add the nature walks to our list of things to enjoy.

This is an excellent bed and breakfast. The cabin we were in had a little screened in back porch. The rooms were up dated and very clean. We would definitely go back here for a weekend getaway .

Made a last minute reservation on our trip to western NC. Fortunately we were able to secure a reservation for Friday night September 22. This place is magical. Food and service are outstanding. Can’t wait to return next year and stay in one of the rooms. Absolutely no complaints. Everything was perfect which is very hard to achieve.
