This is a fantastic area for a day trip or a break from the beach. Gordon Pond is more of a saltwater marsh with many picturesque views and wildlife. The trail here is mostly gravel with some boardwalk. There are two trailheads about 2.5 miles apart and you can bike here. Lots of great birds here.

Great novice bike trail, 2.6 miles from Gordon pond area to herring point . Easy bike trail yet if you are truly a beginner , i suggest walking your bike across the bridge right before the beach. It is pretty narrow and while on a weekday this is a breeze,i imagine on a busy weekend the narrow bridge can be a little harrowing for a novice-none the less it is not a deterrent to visit this bike trail by any means , and if you are A history buff like myself it makes it that much more interesting -love learning about the history of the area and how it was used, once you get to herrings point there is a bunker and a quick read about it. Additionally , the entire Cape Henlopen grounds has the old lookout towers .

Grrsat place for a walk. There is a shady path and a walk way to the ocean. The people were kind on the trail relaxing experience.

Awesome trail, it has small gravel on it making walking easy. Wide enough for plenty of social distancing. Stroller friendly!!

You can ride or walk, usually not too crowded. There is a museum in part of the park as well.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This public beach is well worth the trip! There are a couple of hidden gems here. As you walk down from the parking area, the path ends to a secluded beach. A little bit of paradise. The large rocks on each side make for great pictures.

😠 Not really a public place... We stopped by after visiting a local playground. But there’s no place to really park or get out and the majority, if not all, of the gazebos are private property. TLDR - Big Nope, Pretty, No place for Non-Locals
