We had a perfect dinner here. It was easy to make a reservation and we were taken to the table as soon as we arrived on time. The food we ordered came out very fast. They were very fresh and tasted amazing. We went there in their happy hour and the fresh oyster was only $15 a dozen. We also ordered some exotic appetizers such as escargot in butter, and fried gator nuggets.

Recommended by a local for their happy hour and did not disappoint! Came for happy hour on a Thursday at 6 with a reservation - restaurant didn't look too crowded yet. Waiter was prompt and food came quickly. Happy hour 4 -> 6:30 with 1 dollar oysters and their frozen drinks large size for the price of a small one. We were drawn in for the oysters, but could not help ordering an entire dinner. Someone had recommended the charbroiled oysters, but I found raw ones to be more delicious - so fresh! What really blew me away was the crawfish cornbread - it came with gravy and was heavenly. Oh, and the oysters here can be the size of your palm.

This is a very cool spot with wonderful decoration. The oysters are great, I got two dozen, different kinds, and was very happy. The gentleman greeting me at the front was more than gracious, and very friendly. I would visit again next time I’m in the area.

Excellent spot to stop in and have brunch, lunch or a snack after visiting the Garden District. We stopped in for a quick drink Friday afternoon and got some spinach artichoke dip to share along with some recommended drinks from the bar - Frozen French 75 and some local beers. Our bartender was excellent and even made us some drinks she'd never tried before - a Bin & Gitters. 👌🏽 We even got a complementary piece of carrot cake as someone in our party was celebrating their birthday. Everything was so good we went back the next day for brunch, which was even better. Don't miss out on the Hangover Potatoes and splurge to add the brisket. One of the best brunches I've had in a long time. Our server, Stella, was so lovely and accommodating with our large party. Reservations are recommended if you want to sit at a table.

This is a very popular restaurant for a good reason. The food is consistently great, the drinks are delicious, the atmosphere is always energetic and fun, and the service is quick and attentive. Also a great oyster happy hour, which isn’t very easy to find. It’s also a perfect place to come with a group, as there is plenty of seating and space.

All the dishes we order are amazing in both quality and flavor. Bacon wrapped shrimps are juicy and sweet; the shrimps are huge jumbo shrimps. Blacken fish is meaty, smoky but not dry. Oysters are very delicious and flavorful. The fried alligator is…well….like chicken? Not a bad thing but just since I have never had alligator meat before, I didn’t know what to expect. Drinks are very stiff. The restaurant is quite expensive but definitely still worth a try.

Visiting from out of town and had the fried alligator(fried alittle too hard but still edible) and crawfish Mac and cheese(this should be added to entree menu!! It was delicious) and oysters(yummy) for appetizers. I had the blackened catfish napoleon as a main dish. Was not happy with it and it had very little flavor. I would not get it again. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice though. Our waitress was attentive too.

There was sand in 3 out of 12 chargrilled oysters but other than that they were fresh and the sauce was good. Crawfish mac and cheese was good and had a lot of crawfish but the portion was a little small. Crème brûlée was yummy! Service was good and interior was beautifully decorated. There was a live pianist too! I went on a Saturday.

I was amazed. We found Superior Seafood the last night of our stay. New Orleans saved the BEST for last, and I'm so glad. Otherwise, I would have returned to Indy 10 pounds heavier. Our waitress was excellent. She informed us of her progress with our order and made sure whatever we needed was adequate on the table. She was very professional and friendly. We enjoyed her being our waitress, which made our wait/stay even better. GOOD TO THE LAST BIT!

Love it! Parking is terrible! But everything else was amazing!! Raw oysters were incredibly plumped and sweet. Char-grilled is one of the best in the city. Ordered the blackened fish with corn and potatoes. Side of corn tastes exceptionally complex, and the mashed potatoes was velvety smooth

Our first time visiting Superior Seafood and Oyster Bar and it was amazing! I recommend making a reservation. However, we arrived 30 minutes early for ours and they were kind enough to seat us early. We were sat in the covered patio area next to the trio that would be playing for brunch and you would think it would bother you. But no, it was perfect. The music was beautiful and at the perfect octave of sound to where it was enjoyable but not disruptive. Our food and drinks were delicious!! Our server, Madison was wonderful and extremely helpful with recommendations. We will definitely be going back!

This is the best place we are at on our trip to New Orleans! We've been to a handful of well known restaurants but this place won our hearts! Service was quick, drinks were refreshing and every meal is just superb. We had the oyster platter but the char broiled stood out so we had to get another order of just that. We had the pasta and that was heavenly!! Highly recommended! Our server was very attentive as well. The whole experience will forever leave a special place in my heart. Can't wait to be back!

04/2023 Happy hour from 430-630PM. $1.25 per raw oyster and plenty of discounted drinks. I'd recommend setting a reservation to reduce your wait time. It can be called in or on the OpenTable app. Before the table service, they serve a hot loaf of French bread with a side of butter. We ordered the mussels in white wine sauce, a few dozens of raw oysters, and the salmon Lafitte. Oysters came out fairly quick, considering the place being pretty busy and rush hour. They were mixed in sizes, a little dirty, and not salty but instead, milky plumped. Nothing lemon, hot sauce and/or cocktail sauce can't fix, right? Also served in an iced cold tray, which was nice. Good quality mussels but the sauce was not as good as others I've had. It was also served with a load of bread to dip. The salmon entree was delicious. Nicely grilled salmon served on top of mushroom risotto that complemented it well. Service was good too. Overall, great experience.

Very cool atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. Plenty of wine and beer options. Food was well prepared and delicious. Crawfish Cornbread and alligator bites were a great starter. Salads are fresh and scrumptious. Blackened catfish over the whipped potatoes was great, but the corn was the show stopper! It added that sweet texture to the course. Fresh oysters were well cleaned and exquisite.

This restaurant is lovely gem of New Orleans, it really is a Superior Seafood company providing an upscale experience and delicious meal. The blackened catfish Napoleon with crab etouffe' was the perfect choice. This place will never disappoint. We will be back anytime we are in NOLA. Thank You for a romantic date night.

We were so excited to come here for oyster happy hour ($1 oysters until 6:30pm and drink specials) but it was not even an enjoyable experience. Had a 5pm reservation, yet somehow we didn’t even get our drinks until 5:45 and despite everyone around us getting bread, we had to ask 3 times and finally got some around 6pm— an hour! Every time we tried to get our waiters attention, he was no where to be found. Food arrived in weird waves between 6-6:30. I get that it was super busy but at a certain point it’s really not okay. To top it off, there was a mud worm in one of our oysters, which are apparently harmless but there should NOT be worms in the oysters at such a fancy place.

This place was incredible!! Their happy hour is FANTASTIC ($1 oysters and large frozen drinks for the price of a small and $4 house beers and wines). I definitely recommend having a reservation on weekends. My friend and I didn’t have one and we were like scavengers trying to get either a spot on the bar or a high top table since that was the only way that we’d get seated without being on the waitlist (which was about an 1.5hr). Oysters were HUGE and tasted delicious and so fresh. Definitely a spot to go for these!! Truly a great deal since there’s no cap on how many you can order at a time!

Do make a reservation, very busy for a big place. Piano man is hilarious, if you can get a seat by him. Or the patio is bright and cheery, draped with hanging plants. $1 huge super fresh oysters before 6:30pm. Fried alligator with Cajun mayo was amazing Blackened catfish was a bit spicy for me, but the Flounder was delicious.

Every time I visit Nola I come here. Best freshest oysters at a reasonable price, especially for happy hour. Must order the frozen French 75 with aperol float. Haven’t had much else from the menu but the grilled oysters are really good and so are the salads. The service is always friendly and attentive. Love catching a breeze on the patio. Sometimes they have a piano player that always sets the mood. One time they didn’t even have power after a bad thunderstorm and they were still open for business! Love Superior Oyster Bar!

Y'all go here! That's the message! That crawfish cornbread left me bewildered. How can the two go so well together! Everything we ordered was delicious! Definitely get the pomegranate margarita, too!

Another banger. Did dinner at Superior Seafood. Drinks were hitting. Food was delicious and just enough. I had the Redfish Magnolia. Saw the table next to us return several meals. Not sure what that was about and not my business because we had a great experience. Waiter was a like scattered but no harm no foul. Very busy so try to reserve a table before going. Try it and decide for yourself.

Had a good experience at this place last night. The food was very fancy and good. The pasta was a little bland for my taste but all in all - the experience was really good. Worth a shot if you visit NOLA.

Terrible! What’s with the hype??? Overpriced mediocre food with small portions. The ‘risotto’ was awful! Literally white rice - no flavor. The vegetables were hard as a rock. The shrimp was the only decent thing! The ‘bread pudding’ was a microwaved off tasting hockey puck. This place is awful

The people who works there are so nice. And I’ll come back just for that.🤍 Oysters are amazing. fresh bread. And the seafood pasta.👌🏽. Bread pudding is delicious but very sweet.

First time to New Orleans..... My husband and I jumped on the street car until we found this place. I'm not a big mac n cheese person but the crawfish mac n cheese at this place was ridiculously delicious......and the oysters, escargot, dessert and drinks were really good. Our server was awesome, everyone working there was great!

We visited creole-style seafood restaurant twice in December 18th and 19th. We have impression that West sides such as garden district and Tulane university are much more established than mid city. This restaurant is also serving stylish plates and entrees.

Incredible oysters!!! The chargrilled oysters were good but the raw ones were even better. Huge, sweet and juicy. Other stuff we ordered was pretty good too. Staff were friendly. Be sure to make reservations early though because this place can really fill up!

Steven was our server, and his attention to detail was amazing! Great drinks, amazing charbroiled oysters, everything was perfect! Will return soon, and will of course ask for Steven 😊

The food was very tasty!! We got the Char-grilled oysters, which had a little bit of sand in them, but the flavor was delicious. If you’ve never tried the Escargot De Bourgogne then I would say it’s something you have to try at least once. It had great flavor. The Pasta De La Mer was also very good for our main course. Our server was very friendly, but got upset at us when we noticed that she charged us for an extra glass of wine. She didn’t apologize, rather just came back to the table, dropped the check off & then walked off. Overall, I would come back and recommend.

Really enjoyed dinner at this location. Our server Kayla was very sweet, friendly, and helpful. The food was incredible, the drinks were delicious, and we took dessert to go. I would definitely dine here again. It was a beautiful evening and we chose to dine outside.

Waitress was sweet and she recommended some things to do for our first time in NOLA. Getting the food was a little on the slow side, but it was hot when it came out. The spinach dip was tasty for an appetizer. I had the blackened catfish, it was very good. My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits, neither of us really found anything good to say about that. The shrimp was really, fishy. And just not the flavor I was thinking would be in a Louisiana shrimp and grit bowl. We didn’t do any drinks except water. So I can’t tell you if they’re good or not. Overall, good experience, I just do NOT recommend the shrimp and grits.

A rowdy crowd singing happy birthday every few minutes made this a little louder than we liked, but the food more than made up for it. Very classic New Orleans experience with yummy seafood and great frozen cocktails. I highly recommend the oysters and anything your waiter suggests. Our oysters superior appetizer and carrot cake dessert were the highlight. A great place for a large group. If you don’t like an entire wait staff singing happy birthday every few minute, then this is not your spot. The pecan crusted redfish was decent, but lost all flavor being fried. I may try a grilled fish option next time.

This place is fabulous. Don't tell anyone else it's here. This place and Clancy's need to be for the locals...oh and Irene's too. Pictured: The Benson ( grilled chicken breast with spinach artichoke dip at a house pickles on a bun with french fries & ketchup) and chopped almonds eating green beans followed by a flourless chocolate cake. Superb!

Wow. We absolutely LOVED this place. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Addison was our server (I think that’s how you spell it) but she was amazing and so helpful! I would definitely ask for her when you come! Although all the servers seem amazing. We will definitely be back before our trip is over and ask for her. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was top tier. Highly recommend.

Food was delicious! I loved the crawfish mac & cheese and the crawfish beignets!😋 I also had the filet mignon which was also great.

  • 4/5 Tyler C. 2 years ago on Google
I enjoyed the look and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everyone was very friendly but my one critique was that our server got caught up with a large party in one of the rooms and no one seemed to step up to help cover her area so we wound up sitting waiting for water refills and to order more food. The Pasta De La Mer- 4/5 very tasty and just a bit of spice. The Roddy Diaz- 4/5 this sandwich was excellent.

Great service and fresh tasty food! Our server was so kind and perfectly attentive. The drinks were exactly what we wanted. Of course the Uptown location is ideal.

We just moved here 5 days ago and been trying to find a good spot to eat and drink. Excellent service, conversation and food. Oysters are super fresh and shucked by hand in front of you. Phu is a rockstar!

Great experience! Very good cocktails. The Oyster Happy Hour with $0.75 cent raw oysters was great. We also got an order of the chargrilled which was also very good. I ordered the crusted flounder which was a nice portion of fish beautifully cooked and garnished. The seared tuna was also cooked to perfection and very tasty. A great spot!

Celebrated my birthday here with 11 ladies and they took such great care of us! The food was delicious, but the service was impeccable! Would definitely reccomend! Even had non seafood eaters in the group who were very impressed with their meals.
