My husband and I enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful and relaxing place to celebrate our anniversary. Jenn and Brett were great hosts. Fresh made charcuterie board and trail mix upon arrival (we added our fav wine) breakfast was yummy, the inn was beautiful, room was clean and gorgeous and the grounds were beautiful! Can’t recommend this place enough. Plus their dog Fiona is the cutest! We will be back😊

I could write a novel, but it’s really hard to add anything additional to what is captured in ALL the other 5-star reviews. Brett and Jenn are GREAT hosts. We were met at the door, received a warm welcome and shown around the property. The room and property were extremely clean. Great hiking and biking options from the doorstep- and they have bikes to use. The food was exceptional and beyond expectations - breakfast, snacks, charcuterie board. We’ve been blessed to stay at a lot of nice B&Bs across the country and this one is at the top of the list.

Beautiful location in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. Jenn and Brent were fabulous hosts, greeted us with smiles and a charcuterie board, coffee was always on and they were quick to accommodate the smallest requests. Breakfast was an amazing 4-course meal. The rooms are newly renovated and EXACTLY as described online. If you’re looking for quiet, nature and an amazing place to stay, this is it.

Highly recommend booking a stay here! Brett and Jenn are so welcoming and kind! We stayed in the Forest room and were instantly at peace. The space is beautiful and all of the small details are thought out. You can enjoy walking trails behind the Inn and spend some time in the wildflowers by the creek. Breakfast was delicious! From scratch cooking and baking that will make your taste buds sing! Bonus: their dog, Fiona, is adorable and loves pets! My husband and I are looking forward to being back!

If you’re reading this, please read the entire review. It is long but worth it to you to know what to expect on your weekend/weekday getting away. We visited Journey Inn for a memorial service for a family member. The drive there was spectacular. Hills, valleys, river and lake views made the distance feel closer. The Inn is located just off the most inquisitive & quaint country road ( great for bike rides and walks). As we approached we saw nature at its finest. Gorgeous hills, Birds, wild flowers, sun glistening everywhere and nature’s beauty. Our surroundings gave us a sense of calm for this emotional gathering. There are three buildings (cabin, garage and main house with rooms and dining). The red well pump (which provided fresh cold water)caught my eye as did the outskirts of the property having long blowing grass and flowers. The most important observation on this June day was minimal to no mesquites and no deer flies. The owners shared the gardening scents were created to reduce the bugs but eco friendly to protect & support the nature around them. The new owner’s, Jen and Brett, greeted us at the driveway. Their welcoming felt sincere with genuine smiles. It was a soothing serenity at a difficult time. The inside of the Inn had a feeling of luxury and yet, a pleasure of home. The adorable decor, coffee nook, snacks, furniture and tranquil setting we saw when we entered the main door of the Inn made me warm inside. The Inn offers breakfast and snacks. Each room guest completes a menu checklist which provides choices for breakfast. The breakfast and snacks were fresh, home made and delicious. The modern amenities (fast Wi-Fi, spa tub, patio grills, outdoor games, outdoor chairs, balcony patios, flower gardens, mini refrig in each room, central air conditioning and trails to name a few) were available for use and all worked perfectly. Cleanliness is a priority to me. This Inn is very clean. The bathrooms, the beautiful hard wood floors, the rugs in the bedrooms were so soft and warm to the touch, the hand rails upstairs and even the door knobs, all felt clean. Sleep is another priority to me. The queen bed mattresses were all new and were perfect. All of the bedding was soft and cozy. It felt so fresh! Amazing! Words cannot explain the bedrooms. They are adorable and each are individually decorated with a natural, tranquil beauty which gives you a sense of peacefulness. Loved all of the details of each room including the balconies with their new chairs to watch nature from above. It is pleasantly clear, Jen and Brett, have compassion, commitment, and have provided their own personal touches in this new adventure. It is not just about their financial success. They truly cared about their guests experience, happiness and comfort. We will visit again. Maybe even a girls visit for scrapbooking and relaxation in their adorable cottage. Thank you Jen and Brett, you get five stars from us!

Do yourself (and your mental health) a favor and book a room at the Journey Inn Eco-Retreat! Just a little over an hour outside the Twin Cities, over the river and through the woods, a peaceful respite awaits. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful, comfy, clean, and accessible. Jenn and Brett (the lovely hosts) are just the best! My sister and I got to experience a weekend in the Flora & Fauna Room complete with private entrance/patio area, gorgeous steam shower (wheelchair/walker accessible), and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. The room also offers a smart TV, cute dining area, comfy robes, and they welcome you with a basket of slippers, loofah, bath bombs, and a charcuterie board when you check in. We got a tour of the grounds and all the other amenities too. Jenn and Brett made sure we had everything we needed to be at ease, and were SO accommodating to all our celiac/dairy/egg allergy restrictions for breakfast without sacrificing any of the taste (anyone who can bake muffins gluten/dairy/egg free and oh sooooo yummy is a true hero in our book)! If you’re still reading this review, what are you doing with your life?! Go book your room (or the cottage) and get to the Journey Inn!

My two sisters and I had the cottage all to ourselves and it was a perfect place to relax and explore. The setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. After day-tripping for shopping, wine tasting and dinners, it was a very lovely place to return to and hang out.

Recently, we visited the Journey Inn in Maiden Rock, WI, for a family event. The new owners, Jennifer and Brett worked endlessly to modernize the Inn. The amenities were luxurious and they were accommodating and welcoming. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the Journey Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend. From the large bedrooms equipped with mini refrigerators, luxurious cloud-like mattresses, plush bathrobes, make-up towels, and even hair wraps made us want to stay longer. With family, we were able to spend time in the common area where we had snacks and enjoyed the new coffee bar. The surrounding countryside views were breathtaking and peaceful. We look forward to returning when we have more time to explore the nature walking paths, local shops, spa and trout fishing.

Wow! Jenn and Brett have really made a such a beautiful oasis at the Journey Inn. Such an easy escape, just an hour out of the city. We were lucky to come just 2 weeks before Christmas and got to relax in all the cozy holiday vibes. Having Jenn’s homemade cookies by the fire with the twinkling Christmas tree was just what I needed going into the end of the year. We stayed in The Forest Room, and enjoyed the claw foot tub, soft king sized bed, and watching Christmas movies. We also spent lots of time playing games and sipping drinks in the common area, where we were very well taken care of with fresh treats from Jenn and Brett starting us a fire!! We will be back and we highly recommend!!!

Highly recommend!!! I showed up at Journey Inn and felt an immediate tangible peace upon arriving. Jennifer and her husband were so genuine and kind and truly went above and beyond to make me feel served and cared for as a guest. They’ve thought of every detail in each room to make sure guests have what they need. Also the food Jennifer served was amazing!!! The most abundant breakfast! I couldn’t be more happy with my stay. The grounds were peaceful and I loved walking back by the creek and simply relaxing. Such a memorable stay and I highly recommend!

5 Stars! The owners Jenn and Brett are a delight as is Fiona their pup. Awesome little weekend getaway only a little over an hour from Mpls. I had been here a number of years ago and had a great time, but was excited to see there are new owners and they have updated and refreshed absolutely everything. Glad this special place is open again and has had new life breathed into it! I'm already plotting how I can come back - maybe a yoga retreat weekend or renting the cottage with friends.

My wife and I stayed only two nights here but we wish we could have stayed longer! Brett and Jenn are absolutely amazing hosts and the location is ideal for those wishing to get away from the city yet still feel remote. The inn is located in a wonderfully secluded area with plenty of privacy. It has been beautifully remodeled. We were fortunate enough to see a double rainbow during our stay which made the entire experience even more magical for us! I do suggest booking early! The inn only recently reopened and once word of mouth spreads, I suspect their calendar will fill quickly and often.

The Journey Inn is absolutely magical. I stayed for two nights but wish I could have stayed a whole week! From the delicious homemade breakfasts, the Sister Golden art prints on each door of the rooms, the softest comforters on the beds, heated floors in each room, spotting two blue jays on my hike, to the warm welcome I received from the owners ~ I felt so much peace here but also experienced wonder and inspiration. Every detail throughout the inn felt very thoughtful and purposeful. I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for your warm hospitality, Brett and Jenn!
