One word: Exceptional! The mansion is gorgeous. Steve and Mary Ann made us feel exceptionally welcome. The rooms are elegantly decorated and everything has been thought out down to the smallest detail. Delicious breakfast is served in a very pretty veranda. Steve will tell you the fascinating story of this beautiful mansion and how he and his lovely wife got involved in rebuilding this historical house. If you like mansions, history, calm, nature and would like to escape the city for a quiet stay in a "Downton Abbey" atmosphere, then the mansion is the perfect place.

Stayed there for work, it's a quaint beautiful place with a lot of history. Steve and his wife Mary Ann are great story tellers on the history of the mansion along with the history of the town. The town has a good variety of places to eat, unusual for such a small town. The mansion itself is on a hill with great views, ample easy parking and sometimes wildlife comes to visit, we saw baby deer and their mama during our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious with air conditioners (we stayed during a heat wave), ceiling fans and private bathrooms. I would recommend this bed and breakfast and would definitely stay again.

Was out here for work but absolutely loved it! I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so this was a great first experience. Rooms were large and comfy and the place is filled with antiques. Beautiful location.

The MOST AMAZING experience! We stayed at Sheldon Mansion for a wedding that was in Vermont. Steve and his wife were so welcoming and friendly! The breakfast was outstanding every morning filled with great conversations. The homemade brownies and the beautiful views were also outstanding! Every aspect of this house was perfect for our stay! We will definitely be coming back for another stay and highly recommend this B&B!

Labor Day weekend we ventured from the Finger Lakes to our destination in Vermont. We booked our overnight at The Sheldon Mansion. How lovely was this home built in the early 1900's. The details of the build as well as the history of the family who once resided within the depths of its walls was an amazing account. I still believe a photo rendering and descriptions of the restoration would be a terrific addition to the stay! We had a super peaceful rest and were greeted in the morning by our hosts both with smiles on their faces and Vermont maple syrup on the table! I highly recommend a stay at The Sheldon Mansion.

We were planning a trip to Vermont and at the last minute decided to stay in Granville, NY….. and I am so glad we did. Stumbled across the Sheldon Mansion B&B website. This was our first stay ever at a Bed and Breakfast and it did not disappoint! Booking and check in were a breeze, the room and amenities exactly as described. Place was clean, and rooms were large. Common areas perfect for relaxing and scenery was beautiful. Stephen and Marianne could not have been more welcoming and provided a tour as well as information on the history of the house.

Extremely nice place to stay! Nice couple Maryann and Steve provides good service and delicious breakfast. This is a historic building with classical American interior finish, with awesome foliage views of mountain. Worth to stay!

Took a trip to Vermont with my girlfriend. We found this place last minute not too far from where we were looking to go. The mansion is in a quiet spot with great views. Stephen and Marianne had great hospitality. They were so kind and showed up through their home and the history of the place. Our room was wonderful! It was just the right size for a couple with plenty of space to sit and keep luggage. The room was very clean and comfortable as well. We had a good night's sleep and enjoyed breakfast. Sheldon and Marianne were very accommodating with breakfast and made sure myself and my girlfriend had a breakfast that we would enjoy. We had great conversation and, overall enjoyed our stay! We got a great value for the price. I would strongly consider returning when we're back in the area!
