I cannot recommend 8 Martial Arts highly enough. I joined the studio as a complete novice to martial arts and was encouraged by Instructor Will and my classmates to dive in. I found the experience to be deeply rewarding and beneficial to my overall health and well being (in no time at all). The practice helped de-clutter my mind and build strength and flexibility in my body. Instructor Will is extremely knowledgeable of how the body is engineered and has deep expertise of the traditions, history and lore of the practice. He is dedicated to sharing this passion with students of all levels and backgrounds and takes the time to work with all his students, regardless of their ability level. He is among the most caring, communicative instructors I have yet to practice with, often reaching out just to check in when you might miss a few classes in a row. The 8 Martial Arts facility itself is top-notch with plenty of space, bags, and equipment. Everything is kept very clean and orderly. What really sets 8 Martial Arts apart is the community. All the students are supportive of one another and it feels like a familial environment. There's no ego or competitiveness in the class, just a shared love for learning about the history and ceremony of the practice. Whether you're a beginner looking to get in shape and learn self-defense, or a seasoned martial artist deepening your training, 8 Martial Arts is the perfect place for any and all. I looked forward to every class and continued to improve under the guidance of Instructor Will. The only reason I'm stopping is because we are moving away. This school has my highest recommendation - a must visit if you're ever curious about martial arts in the area!

I have been a student for about 8 weeks now and I love every class! I enjoy learning multiple martial arts and becoming more confident in my abilities to defend myself and challenge my body and mind! It's fun to learn different practices. I feel the benefits both mentally and physically and leave class each time feeling better than when I walked in. Instructor Will is an excellent teacher and provides an awesome experience each class! It's a wonderful experience and a positive atmosphere!

The 6-week challenge program had inspired me at a time where I was looking for results from my exercise regimen, but I gained much more. I became mindful about the food I consumed and learned what foods actually feel good to eat. It encouraged me to meal plan and prep. I found discipline through being accountable for being present for classes. Learning in classes was beginner friendly. I enjoyed the experience being introduced to different forms of martial arts. It was very engaging and became a lifestyle shift that really shaped my internal strength as much as my physical strength.

I have been training in the school of Oom Yung Doe for over twenty years. When I started in college I was shocked by how quickly and profoundly it helped me to improve mentally and physically. As the years have gone by, I have continued my training and experienced these benefits even more deeply, along with a growing sense of peace in my daily life. To this day, I challenge myself with this training because I continue to find it to be the most powerful self development method I have ever experienced.

I just want to say a special thank you to Instructor Will. Instructor Will asked me what my biggest take away from the 6 week challenge has been. Even more than the 35 pounds I have lost, it has to be HOPE. I feel so much better than I did 6 weeks ago, and I am resolved to do another six. And then hopefully another 6 and keep going. With all the money that I am no longer spending on junk food and alcohol, the class pays for itself. Thank You.

I am 52 years old and became a student here three months ago. I would like to take this opportunity to express how beneficial this experience has been for me. I’ve been introduced to multiple martial art forms( super fun!) I feel more confident about physically defending myself. My flexibility and muscle tone have noticeably improved. The breathing/meditation and energy exercises are a lasting respite from the chaos of today. Best of all, Instructor Will is an incredible teacher, encouraging and challenging to everyone in the very diverse group of students (all ages, body types and fitness levels). What we all do have in common is a desire to better ourselves physically and mentally. I just love this bunch! Thanks for all you do instructor Will! I look forward to each class!

Instructor Will has a real gift for bring all levels of students along fully engaged in their martial arts practice despite varying skill levels. A truly gifted man sharing his love for the art in an incredible way. This has allowed me to develop my beginner skills faster than I would have thought possible.

My husband and I were very excited to see something like 8 Martial Arts come to our area. We jumped at the opportunity and enrolled our son. We have seen a tremendous improvement in our sons focus and confidence. Will Hanna is a fantastic instructor who connects with his students, teaching them new skills they can apply in their lives. Will brings structure and discipline while having fun. There are classes for all ages. The best decision we made!

I went for the free tai-chi lesson in April 2022. That was 18 months ago. I now have skills in 8 martial arts. What you will find here is a complete system, that at its heart, encourages the marriage of mind and body to reach a level of mastery that will provide you with a lifetime of health and wellness. These are practices that are not readily available around here, so to have this close by is very appreciated, and I travel an hour 3 times a week to learn. Our instructor Will, a 4th degree black belt, is as passionate and dedicated a teacher as you could hope to find. What is most appealing is that the school takes people of all ages and abilities. What is clear is that you are able to benefit from these teachings whatever you think your physical or mental ability currently is. This is a highly recommended undertaking that will serve you for years to come.

Instructor Will is an awesome instructor to have! I have been in his class for about 8 weeks now and I have learned so much about martial arts. I enjoy every second of class knowing I am there to better my self and push my self out of my comfort zone. I feel safe and respected during every class. Instructor Will teaches the class in great detail and makes sure you understand what your doing. I 100% recommend getting outside of your comfort zone and practice martial arts here!!!

😠 Where to even begin.. Kids care is always booked. Everything is adults only until 10am. They have a massive pool, but close the pool so 5 adults can swim in the deep end? Awesome What is the point of even having a family membership? This place is terrible. Has about 4 squat racks and any class you’d...

👍 Nicely appointed Y with excellent fitness center and outdoor pool. Friendly staff and members. Watch out for machine users who bounce randomly or "camp out" for extended sets.
