My wife and I stayed here for a week this summer on our honeymoon and it was an excellent place to stay. If you’re interested in exploring more than just the city of Duluth, but not being too far away from the city, this is the place to be. Wonderful establishment and I really enjoyed being there. Make sure to look for our journal entry when you go to stay!

Comfortable and quiet, the beds are great and the view is awesome! Great home port for 3 State Parks! You won't be bored here and if you want to relax there's some nice decks and comfy furniture to relax on. Great firepit and hammocks too!

4/11/22 Found this place accidentally while looking for places along the North Shore Drive. We stayed here for 2 nights at the Temperance Room. It is really cozy and the decor inside is cute. The little fireplace was nice. In terms of location, it fit perfectly with our plans. Located very close to the Split rock lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls State Parks. We also liked that you can just go to your room without seeing anyone (and leave the same way). They had some cool dvds as well. We never got to use the fire-pit as we either arrived late, it was too cold, or was too tired from the day-hikes. Small negatives - the room is smaller than what it looks like on the website, the shower space is REALLY small, maybe a little overpriced for the facilities it offers (compared to hotel-chains and other places that offers free morning breakfast, pools, spas and such), the pillows were flat and not fluffy. Overall a great experience and will come back again :)

Such a great place for the quick getaway with the spouse. I will always come back to this little slice of heaven on the North Shore. The best accommodations and such cute amenities. Not too far from Gooseberry Falls, Two Harbors, Split Rock Light House and Tettegouche State Park.

We had a wonderful time here, even with rain and fog. The property is beautiful. We stayed in the Temperance River Room. Cozy, has a gas fire place, a fan if you need outdoor air. TV and DVD player (it is not a blue ray, keep that in mind). Small fridge with freezer. Microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Some dishes(mugs, plates, bowls, utensils). What we did not expect was it did have a single burner and a couple pans to cook if wanted. Because of rain we did not use the private fire pit, but its a beautiful area with lights in trees. Seating and a hammock. Honestly we already miss being there. Wish we had a couple more days to enjoy. Bell Sheep is super close to Gooseberry, Iona Beach and other outdoor nature places. You could drive a half hour more north and hit so many fantastic spots.

This place is amazing. The rooms so cheap compared to all of the other hotels and lodging along the north shore. Plus, there’s all sorts of amenities: fire pits, hammocks, a swing, and even a play house and sand pit! You can also rent bikes there. The rooms are very clean, and have a lot of extra things, such as tea, dishes, a hair dryer, board games, and much more. Plus it’s close to a lot of great places like Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls State Park. Absolutely going to stay here again on my next trip to the north shore.

We stayed at the Lake Superior Cabin for 6 nights in July 2022 and it was perfect. The space is used so well and has everything you need for a relaxing cabin get away. We can't wait to go back again. The location is also nice being only a few minutes from two state parks.

Love this place and the owners. This was my first time to the North Shore. My girlfriend decided it was time for us to go up before Memorial Day weekend. I also knew it was time for me to propose to her. However, the ring wasn’t going to make it in time. That’s when I contacted Danielle to see if there was a way I could have it delivered to her while I was up there. So before we went to the room we stopped by and I grabbed the ring from Danielle when my girlfriend wasn’t looking. I proposed at Gooseberry State Park and she said, “yes”! Thanks for the help Danielle! Moving on to the actual stay…it was fantastic and refreshing. The Temperance River Room is so cozy and relaxing. We enjoyed making S’mores by the fire pit and listening to the whip-poor-wills at night. Will highly recommend staying here and we will be back again!

The owners Nick and Danielle are absolutely the BEST host and hostess you will ever meet!!! They anticipate your every need and make you feel like one of the family from the moment you arrive! The rooms are all super clean and cozy with each one unique!! Bike rentals in summer, snow shoes and cross country skiing rentals are an awesome bonus! This is the only place on the North shore we will ever stay again!! Absolutely LOVE it!
