My wife and I had a great experience at Shirley's! Cheryl and Jeff are great hosts, so laid back! The B and B is so clean and is quite a beautiful log cabin structure. The pool is beautiful and so well kept. Cheryl makes an amazing breakfast with multiple breakfast options to choose from, which often times you don't get at a B & B! Definitely a 5 Star Experience!..

On a trip to Roanoke we discovered Shirley's Bed and Breakfast. The house and property were beautiful with a very clean, spacious, and inviting interior. They also had an in ground pool that looked very refreshing, but we didn’t have our swimsuits. The hosts were Cheryl and Jeff who were very friendly and gracious hosts and they even provided dinner recommendations for places in the local area. Complimentary coffee, wine, beer, and snacks were included. They also served a delicious, home cooked breakfast the following morning. We moved on to a different town the following day staying again at a B&B and there was simply no comparison. Shirley’s had spoiled us and is definitely a cut above the rest!

On our way to Nashville, we decided to spend a night in Roanoke and came across Shirley's Bed and Breakfast as an option for lodging. We found so much more! The beautiful property and incredible house offering several suites to stay in with mountain views and vistas. Our hosts, Cheryl and Jeff, were lovely, and our stay truly wonderful. From the workmanship of the log home to the items on display, we really enjoyed every moment here and will be back! Complimentary coffee, wine, snacks and a delicious home cooked breakfast await you! Thanks again Cheryl and Jeff! Top notch!

One of the nicest places I have stayed. Owners are friendly & accommodating, not to mention great breakfast hosts. We stayed in the lower level suite with patio & pool entrance, yet all guest suites are equally amazing; clean, fresh, comfortable & fully equipped. The pool is private with awesome mountain views, a nice addition to this B&B. Yet a fall/winter visit would be just as nice with scenic views, and cozy suites. I highly recommend a visit to Shirley’s B&B. Can’t wait to return.😊

After a long drive from NYC, Shirley’s B&B was a sight for sore eyes. A spacious log home with a spectacular view of the mountains. We received a warm welcome from Jeff, shown snacks, water and coffee. Then Cheryl waved to us from the sunlit pool, “Come on in!” Our room was enormous, immaculate and furnished with wonderful memorabilia from Jeff’s auto-restoration business. The bathroom offered a full set of environmentally-friendly toiletries - and a view of the mountains. The pool was delightful, we couldn’t pull ourselves away - and Cheryl called a restaurant to postpone our reservation so we could linger longer. Breakfast was a multi-course affair, beginning with fresh fruit, yogurt, freshly made pastry and then several options as a main course with fresh and healthy ingredients. Jeff and Cheryl even made sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and can’t wait to return.

My husband and I loved staying at this amazing bed and breakfast. The house and location are beautiful. The host’s made us feel welcomed and comfortable in their B&B. They easily accommodated my food allergy and breakfast was delicious. The peaceful location was just what we were looking for. The pool and outdoor sitting areas are also amazing. We would have loved to have stayed longer but they were booked up for the next night. We can not wait to return to this B&B, it is absolutely gorgeous!

We had the best weekend at Shirley's! It was beautiful, everyone was accommodating and friendly, and our cottage was spotless! We had a blast by the beautiful, well maintained pool! Added bonus, it was only 10 minutes from downtown Roanoke! We had such a relaxing weekend and cannot wait to go back!

Shirley’s Bed and Breakfast is the perfect little getaway. As soon as we arrived, Cheryl and Jeff greeted us and gave us the tour. The EASIEST “check in” I’ve ever experienced, for sure! They are SO friendly and welcome you with snacks, coffee, waters, and complimentary beer/wine. The entire log cabin, property, and pool was amazing. The pool was incredibly clean, and had a basketball hoop, floats, and more. We stayed in the Lookout Suite. It was absolutely beautiful, incredibly clean, and I CANNOT talk enough about how COMFY that bed is! I would have never gotten out of it…. until I smelt the breakfast Cheryl had began cooking downstairs. The best part of the trip… breakfast! Jeff and Cheryl started us off with cinnamon rolls and yogurt parfaits. We were then offered an array of choices and had such a delicious breakfast. The potatoes are to die for! We enjoyed conversation with the other guests, as well as Cheryl and Jeff during breakfast. They really are great people! Could not recommend this place enough! We will most definitely be back!

Stayed at Shirley’s B&B the weekend of November 10-12, 2023 with a girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. We had such a wonderful weekend at the B&B. The owners were so kind, and had great recommendations for us to try in the area from hiking trails to restaurants gems downtown. The house is spotless and they’ve very thoughtfully provided everything you could possibly need for a mountain getaway trip. We really enjoyed the outdoor space downstairs around the pool. Lots of seating, an electric fireplace, and a glass of wine provided by the hosts. I could really go on and on about the excellent experience we had at Shirley’s but really what you NEED to know is that the location is 10/10, the pillows on the beds are 10/10, and the breakfast each morning was 10/10. We left Sunday morning feeling rejuvenated from the fresh mountain air and with VERY full bellies. If you’re passing through Roanoke, or looking for a weekend retreat in the mountains, this is your spot.

Our experience at Shirley’s was, in a word, stellar. The lodge is beautiful, artfully appointed (automotive chic!), and perfectly suited to guests’ comfort. Breakfast is a special scrumptious treat, excellent fuel for the day’s adventure. The owners are welcoming, witty and warm — they operate together like a finely-tuned engine!

We booked a trip to Roanoke to experience Illuminights. We arrived just after check in time (3pm) and Jeff welcomed us right away. He gave us a brief tour and a great recommendation for dinner. We stayed in the Lavista Suite and it was HUGE! The decor was so interesting and we could have spent an entire day admiring it all. The cleanliness of the entire house was very appreciated. We opted for a breakfast consisting of eggs, the best bacon I’ve ever tasted, fruit with yogurt and bread of choice. Cheryl and Jeff were wonderful hosts and we would definitely recommend this hidden gem to the best of the crowds.
