Starting with the pros, the bed was really comfortable and I liked the architecture especially in the courtyard. The room was a bit dated. I wish it would be given the TLC it needs to truly make it shine and feel like Taos. The bathrooms could use a total renovation, as well as the wooden walkways with boards coming out. For the price, it was decent. I wish the old pool was useable. Maybe the more expensive parts of the hotel are nicer?

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Spending time in the courtyard or the patios is a wonderful way to spend the time and enjoy the climate. LOVE the architecture and feel of the place. The rooms are very reasonably priced and clean. Definitely a hidden gem of the region I look forward to staying at again.

We checked in late, but the front desk ladies were nice. As far as the room, we walked in to bugs all over the bathroom and floor…some dead, some alive! The room is definitely older, but very spacious. Be aware most of the plug ins in our room did not work and there aren’t USB plug ins, which made it hard to charge our phones. The beds were fairly comfortable.

What a gem. Ask for a room on the original side. There is a pretty courtyard with lights. Perfect place to relax and walk the dog. Usually the restaurant and bar at a hotel are pretty dreary. Not here. We liked the atmosphere so much that we had 3 meals there in 2 days. The food is much better than you'd expect. I had steak and enchiladas and wanted it again the next night. Make sure you have cocktails in the cantina. The music is great and the elderflower margarita is outstanding. The artwork , the atmosphere, and the staff are all a delight. Ask about the good old days when artists and actors drank the night away here. If I was a local, I'd go here all the time

We had a business trip to Taos from Santa Fe and stayed a total of 4 nights at the Sagebrush. It was wonderful! The rooms were cozy and clean with wonderful kiva fireplaces. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The pet fee was also super reasonable! The location is very convenient, just a short drive to downtown and easy access from Santa Fe! Will definitely stay again!

Love this place! Rooms could definitely use a refresh/remodel, but everything worked, beds and furniture comfy. Food is OUTSTANDING New Mexican fare, large portions and excellent flavors. Cantina is great, with live entertainment most nights and buckets of character and history. I'll definitely be back!

Classic Taos motel and a great spot for an authentic experience 💎 We were upgraded to a suite and enjoyed the spacious room, sitting area and of course the kiva fireplace. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean with great water pressure. We had a great Saturday night at the bar dancing to a great live band with cowboys and margaritas!

Very comfortable bed and great customer service at front desk. The rooms were very roomy and was decent. The only complaint I have was the weird smell in the room. I found out it was the AC filter and pulled it out (it was gross). I cleaned it and it smelt a little better in the room. The food at the hotel restaurant was excellent. Food came within 15 min and was very delicious. Ordered the enchiladas and it was filling.

Good room. It's an older hotel so some things might be dated, but it was a great time. Thought it was a bit far for what I was in town for, but the location having everything here made up for it. Will remember this for next time I'm up there.

Very beautiful and peaceful. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. The food and the cocktails at the restaurant were delicious. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi were very enjoyable. We will definitely stay again.

Great older hotel. Actually in good shape considering it was built in the 1930s. They have spent $$ to Maintain it. There is no room service daily. Great place for folk with pets! Pool was not open which was a disappointment. Would stay again.

Was pleasantly surprised how nice and accommodating the front desk clerk was upon check in. Even while checking in late at night she was over the top helpful in giving us a room that suited our needs. I appreciate this more than anything as it's seen less and less nowadays. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Could use new carpets but that can be totally overlooked. We would stay here again just because of how wonderful the women was at the front desk. Thank you Sagebrush! We'll be back!

It's an older hotel. Rooms are large and beds comfortable. There's almost no service, and no room cleaning. WiFi is pretty much non-existent. No breakfast. Everything is old. Dogs are allowed at $15 per day

Friendly staff. Large room was clean and the bed, comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a nice shower. Plenty of parking. Nice courtyard. Nicely tiled bathroom. A table and chair in the room is a nice plus. The open wood kig beam ceiling is super awesome We had a lower cost room, which was plenty for us, but it looks like you can upgrade to a fireplace in your room as well. An on-site restaurant can take care of breakfast or dinner.

Old, but okay. There for New Years and rooms temperature was too hot. Couldn't regulate temperature with two thermostats. Had to open door to cool room down. Cold air was nice. Still would stay again.

There are places that one visits where the staff ensures a high rating and this is one. Candice was the bearer of first impression duty, and she nailed it. She put us in a room with a fireplace which is a real treat for anyone from Florida. The kindness she greeted and treated us with was genuine. After a long day of driving and exploring, we were ready to crash and the room was comfy and warm. Lara and Jeff delivered a wonderful breakfast. Jeff knows how to make an over easy egg which experienced travelers will note is a plus. A few notes: You’ll probably want to ask for extra pillows. The rooms are a little older which is part of the charm. However, you’ll probably want to bring extension cords as there aren’t many outlets.
