One of the most spectacular vistas I've seen in the United States. We booked a boat cruise with a local company and it was well worth it to get the overview. Spending another 3-4 days to enjoy the intimate parts of the shoreline is a must. You can tent camp, glamp camp, motel/hotel or even book a lodge within 10 minutes of the Lakeshore. Take your time and enjoy the sights. World class!!!!

Chapel Basin Loop trail review. My app clocked this at 11.4 miles with 1800+' of gain. It took us just over 5 hours to complete. We're in our mid-late 50's. We took this in a CCW direction on 5/18/21 starting at 9:50am. The parking lot was full when we returned. Beautiful weather, green spring growth and flowers along the route. Water falls (Chapel, Mosquito, and Spectacle) can be seen along the way. Great smells. There are endless views of the water and rocks along the way.

Breathtaking views! Visiting Pictured Rocks by land or water delivers a great adventure. For hiking enthusiast there are miles and miles of hiking trails to enjoy. For kayakers the water is so clear and fresh, and the shoreline provides a completely different perspective of the shoreline. Beaches are beautiful sugar sand. The park has many waterfalls and points of interest. Late in the day, in the last few hours of daylight, is one of the best times for viewing, as the sun lights up the shore and brings out the colors of the layered rock. Remember, if you’re on the water that it is Lake Superior and conditions can change in an instant.

We went on a gloomy day in fall but it didn’t disappoint us. We took the cruise to see the 20 miles pictured rocks lakeshore and enjoyed every minute of it. Also, went on a hike, Miners castle, Miners beach and it was worthwhile.

This is an amazing area to visit with incredible views and so many amazing things to see. The best way I found to see it was through a local cruise. Because there is so many large cliffs, getting a good view while hiking is very difficult. That is referring to the cliffs that is. There is so many small caves and bright colors that you will miss without a cruise. There's also a couple water falls that are positioned where you have to view them from the water. Regardless of weather, this area won't disappoint. I still can't believe how clear the water is, truly amazing.

This is not open to the public. It's only their administrative headquarters. They direct you to the Munising visitor center, which is just a trailer and has no maps to hand out and charges $20 and does not take cash. Can't find anything good to say, but the park is amazing, so they are doing something right.
