Probably the best historic house museum tour I've ever been on. Spent an hour by myself with a very knowledgable guide. Besides the Myers House being a beautiful example of Federal style architecture, there is much about the Myers family that will be interesting to those interested in maritime and naval history.

Awesome historical house with free admission. The house belonged to a merchant called Moses Myers and 70% of the furniture is original. It worth a visit.

5 stars aren't enough for this tour. The docents in this house are Extremely knowledgeable. I've taken several tours similar in the last few months since Covid restrictions have eased and none compare! Tour is free but a donation is accepted.

I walked past this historical house hundreds of times, but never went in until recently. It's interesting to hear about the history and of Norfolk from the perspective of the families that lived here. This house dates back to the 1700s. It's worth a visit any weekend you can make it.

We loved our tour of the Myers House! We opted for a guided tour with Christine who was absolutely PHENOMENAL! She was a great story teller and knew so much about both the Myers family/house as well as Norfolk history in general. I would say to definitely utilize the awesome knowledge of the guides when you visit for a fun and interesting visit. MEYERS HOUSE IS A MUST SEE SPOT IN NORFOLK!!!

What an incredible historical tour this was. So much of the original house has been maintained due to the fact that it is the same family that is maintained ownership of it. It really is like going back in time! Tour guide didn't excellent job!

I attended a "History Speaks" talk-and-tour at the Moses Myers House. Our host brought history to life; Her topic covered the many perils experienced by Norfolk citizens after the Revolutionary War. Highly recommend. (Talks are more or less monthly, and topics change. Probably best to refer to Chrysler Museum website for dates.)

If you're a fan of history and looking for learn more about the city of Norfolk, I highly recommend visiting the Myers House. Here, you'll learn about the Myers, prosperous Jewish family, as well as a wealth of information about the Norfolk and time they lived in. Admission is free, and we were able to get a guided tour during our visit. Our host Alex was extremely knowledgeable, and I felt extremely fortunate to have him show us around.

The Myers House is among the best historical house tours I’ve been on. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and able to answer any questions off the cuff (it didn’t feel like a memorized/scripted experience). I really didn’t know anything about the history of Jewish families in Norfolk, and the information I learned here was fascinating—some just generally about the Federalist style, too. There are also so many great stories and tidbits throughout the house that you wouldn’t know just by looking at the architecture, like the history behind the gold leaf on one of the fireplaces (no spoilers). I also appreciate that this museum is expanding its exhibit to include the history of enslaved people in the house. As our guide said, “It was their home too, even though they didn’t choose it.” I wish we could’ve stayed for longer, we got there 45 minutes before closing, but given that it was basically a private tour with a super knowledgeable person, I could’ve stayed for 3 hours asking questions.

Favorite historical site in Hampton Roads. Such a rich history and narrative of the Myers family --- oh, and the house itself is beautiful! Chrysler Museum employees who staff the house are always super knowledgeable and helpful. Plus, it's free! Go check it out :)

Let me call my visit a "happy accident" , we'd set out for the Art Museum, but an inadvertent GPS entry brought us here. We found the tour and home downright fascinating. Our guide was knowledgeable beyond words. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in history.

My friends and I had the pleasant surprise of being offered a tour while visiting the house. Our guide was unbelievably knowledgeable & we enjoyed every minute of the tour. There is so much to grasp about the times of this family and their influence on Norfolk. I only wish regular tours were offered as we could never have understood so much wondering through on our own.

Wonderful old house, needs more visitors, has convenient parking lot. Most furnishings original to house, has displayed dueling pistols that were actually used in a famous duel. Staff very knowledgeable & really love the house and their job.Do visit on your next trip to Virginia or if you live local also.

My family and I had an amazing experience touring the Myers home. Taylor took his time hosting the 4 of us on a private tour as he answered a million questions and offered a trove of knowledge. This historic home is an absolute gem and worth every second of a persons vacation time.
