Love music on a Thursday night... more beers on draft than I can drink in a week... great atmosphere. Overall a very cool venue to visit. I love me some German food and they have a great selection during the week and Sunday brunch is awesome as well. I can't wait for Oktoberfest even though I don't need to here!

Delicious German food but with quite a few people pleaser menu options. Everything was delicious and the portions (especially for the roast chicken) were very generous. Not pictured was bier cheese that went with the large pretzel, so good. Our server was very friendly and everything came out fast and hot. The outside area is very nice as well.

Our Service tonight was TERRIBLE. The food was AMAZING! Not sure if the waitress was just young and inexperienced or if she really didn't want to be there. Lack of attentiveness, had to flag her down to get her attention, otherwise she wouldn't have refilled drinks or gotten us what we were missing. Zero personality. We will be back though because the food was so good!

I am ashamed of myself for not having ventured to new restaurants any time I pass through New Braunfels. Normally it’s the tried and true Grist Mill but I wasn’t driving out that way this time. So I did a search for restaurants nearby and this German one came up. It’s been quite a few months since I’ve had it so I thought let’s do it! Tucked away in what looked like an old downtown, is this super fun place! Great atmosphere, pretty landscaping. There is tons of seating and parking, too. I ordered the Bavarian pretzel with cheese and no lie, that was the best I’d ever had! It was so warm, soft, perfectly salted, and omg that cheese sauce was heaven. Then I got the Wiener schnitzel as an entree, which was also super yummy. I am sad to say I didn’t partake in dessert but I know it would have been amazing. Next time it’s Apple strudel! The great thing is I’ll be traveling through here next week for work so I’m gonna stop in again! Wish I could have tried some beer, too. Did I mention the bar is huge?! Lots of drink selections. And the environment is so laid back. This is the kind of place you could come every day just to get away. Can’t wait to return!

Love it! Love it! Best German spot in the south of the US. Only comparable to Frankenmuth in Michigan. The waitress was super! The beer was huge and went down smoothly. The meat… just wow! Bring the family here or just come with friends, either way, you won’t be disappointed! Try the bacon wrapped venison!

Atmosphere was awesome. Sat outside under the covering and it was very nice. They were busy because they had a concert so our waiter was everywhere but he was still very attentive to us and made sure we were happy. Food was excellent. Apple strudel and the potatoes were to die for. Loved everything and am excited to go again.

My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary here. We had been looking forward to dining at a traditional german restaurant since we have so many good memories in Germany. I really don't know what happened during our visit, but the food was awful. Our $13 sausage appetizer was small, random sized pieces of sausage. I thought for the price we would have gotten whole sausages. These pieces looked like they were repurposed from other plates. Our Reuben was not just dry, It was rubber. It had the appearance, taste, and consistency of sitting in the service window for an hour. The potato salad was mush. Seriously, mush. There were no longer pieces of potatoes because the vinegar broke it down into a pickled sludge. Although, the odd german meatball plate was amazing. The gravy I could drink. I see the other reviews with pictures of what we ordered, and I'm beyond disappointed with what we received. The best part of our visit was our wonderfully sweet waitress. So, Beware if you dine here. You may not get what you expected or paid for.

Awesome! The meatball was very tasty. The beer was great ($4.00 for a liter) and the schnitzel was so satisfying! Just hitting all the marks for our lunch/ dinner. From Florida so this experience was not something we get to do on a given day! Will be back even if we have to make a detour to get here.

The Wild Sausage Sampler and Sausage Samplers were both amazing, they are larger than you'd expect, and all taste different from the last. Best experience with our waitress too. Amanda B was awesome, we appreciate the suggestions on ciders and food.

This was a very pleasant atmosphere with a great selection of German and Texas beers! The Bavarian pretzel was delicious! The German Meatball and the Bratentashe were delicious as well and we loved it. The spicy mustard was so different than anything we have ever had! Great spot!

Awesome food, great beer, and super friendly staff. What else could you ask for. I started off with a pretzel (I just moved back to TX from Munich in Nov and these pretzel are the real deal) i was hungry so I ate that pretty much without thinking about taking a picture 📸. Oh well just gives me a reason to go back. I would highly recommend this place.

The breakfast was amazing!! My friends & I got the biscuits & gravy with an egg, French toast, banana pancakes & the breakfast sandwich. Everything tasted delicious! And good price for what you get! Definitely will be returning. Service was great! Always had a full glass. Beautiful atmosphere.

Awesome lunch experience today! Cafe is large with 2 beer gardens attached. A great place to day drink & on the weekends & they have live music all day. We started with the giant pretzel which came with 3 dipping sauces. Hubby had the sausage platter & I had the Reuben. The meat had no fat on it & was so tender. Sandwich had great flavor. The waitress was friendly & attentive. $51.00 for lunch which is steep but we also had 2 beers. It was worth every penny & we will most definitely return!

Delicious German food in a very cool setting. We had a 10 minute wait which was surprising for how busy it was (Saturday around 1pm). Service was wonderful. Beer was cold. We had a Reuben sandwich and the wild game sausage plate, with a large pretzel to start. Everything was great!

Excellent Oktoberfest setup with picnic tables outside as well as cozy indoor seating. So many beers on tap its overwhelming to choose. Got sausage sampler appetizer which was fantastic. Wild boar was the favorite. Giant size beers and all it needed was some lederhosen to get like I was in the real deal. Service was great and everything explained if needed. Portions for entrees were huge and would love to be back when the place is packed for I'm sure the atmosphere is worth the crowd. Glad we stopped and definitely again when in the area.

Husband and I took a day trip to New Braunfels and tried Krause. Absolutely delicious! They have a wall of beer taps but can also .are cocktails! The portion sizes are HUGE! There is outdoor seating, semi outdoor seating and indoor seating. Our server Reid was fantastic! Pleasant, timely, and extremely nice! We will be back!

The food at Krause's Cafe was delicious and the service was great. The atmosphere was nice and had a German Biergarten feel. We started off with a large Bavarian pretzel which was amazing. Unfortunately, none of us opted for any of the German dishes so we probably missed out on some amazing food but what we did have was great. I had the venison burger cooked to a perfect medium and my wife wanted something light so opted for the charcuterie board. The chicken strips were big, fries were delicious, and my daughter loved the Mac and cheese. We would definitely go back in the future.

Loved this biergarten!! Of course the beer selection is vast and any person’s taste. The service (especially by Alicia) is top notch, and the food is not to be missed. The pretzel is crunchy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. There are many different choices. We couldn’t try all that we wanted to! Go here. It’s fun!!

Live music on weekends, good beer and good food, what more can you ask for. We really liked sausages and Schwine.....something we were not so big fun of it, next time we have to try something new. Very loud live music so if you are there to catch up in conversation maybe is not your best place. Service was fast even though there was alot of people. Also very polite.

I was excited to try this place. They had a big open area both inside and outside. You can bring your dog as well. They had a great atmosphere with live music being played by local artists. The food was great. I got the Texas Schnitzel which was delicious but I would say slightly overcooked for my personal preference. Their mashed potatoes we probably the best I had at a restaurant and their beer selection is top notch. I will be coming back for sure!

This place was amazing! Went in for brunch after a night out and was kind of doubtful since I don't usually eat German food but I really enjoyed it! It's basically the same type of food (sandwiches, burgers, steak) but with a few German (I assume) tweaks. AND THE DESSART!!!!! Food was so yummy there were no left overs. Price is good also, defiantly affordable. Staff is friendly and environment so nice and chill. Definitely planning on stopping by again when in the area!!

Great Beer selection from Germany and Texas!! Tried a flight of different German beers. Sausage appetizer sampler was awesome with four sauces. The Schnitzels were hand cut, pounded and breaded in-house y'all!!! Not delivered frozen from Sysco! Unfortunately they do deep fry them instead of pan fry. Veal for Weiner Schnitzel should be pan cooked in lots of butter eh?! Came with roasted potatoes and green beans. Green beans were excellent and also had a side of red cabbage which was good too. My sweet Vegan had their homemade vegan sausage. There's a small indoor seating with AC and two huge outdoor seating areas. Looking forward to returning when the weather cools off.

Pretty decent German food. I wouldn’t call it the best. The service was decent. My partner asked our server for a black coffee, and the server brought a black tea. I honestly thought that was pretty funny. I ordered the sausage plate. Sausage was good, and the sauerkraut was very sour as to be expected. The serving sizes are very large, so it’s priced really fair. The beer hall has a pretty cool vibe.

Large Biergarten with 3 different dining areas. They have many beer options and their food is really good. The chips and beer cheese was a great appetizer, the schnitzel was cooked nicely. The atmosphere of this place is amazing, there’s a band and they also played college football on the big screen and it was the first day of the season. This is a perfect place for food, drinks, and catching up with friends or family.

Great atmosphere and huge, there’s plenty of seats for small and large groups. They have live music and of course tons of options of beer selection! The food was great and honestly better than I expected it to be, I was really surprised and ended up wanting more at the end. I will def be going back there!

We had a excellent dining experience. Our waitress was outstanding. Our appetizers and entrees were served warm and without a long wait. The restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. The outside seating and beer garden are a fun place to sit with live music at night.

Went out on a Saturday to enjoy some live music and food with some friends. The place was really cool looking. An hour wait? Not a big deal on a Saturday. Luckily some people we were waiting near invited us to their table. Allison was a great help and our waitress Bella making sure that we got seated and eventually cleaning off the table of the people we were seated next to when they left, extra arm room. The pretzel and meatball were amazing. Would definitely hit up this spot again!

This is my favorite place to eat when I visit NB. I highly recommend the pretzel with beer cheese. They have an option on the menu to sample craft beers (4 at a time). I've had several dishes here and all of them are fabulously authentic.

Great atmosphere, outdoors and indoors, breezy. Kid and dog friendly. Great selection of food and beverages. Loved the spicy mustard. All food was on point (Nashville hot chicken sandwich, German meatball, Brussel sprouts, and deviled eggs.) Looking forward to returning to try more variety and craft beer. Great service as well

Love coming here when we are in town. Always great food breakfast, lunch or dinner We love the atmosphere and enjoy coming here to have a meal or appetizer. We enjoy the live music in the beirgarten, and the pretzel is a favorite to have while trying out their 100+ beers and cider options. Pet and family friendly. Highly recommend!

Great spot with an excellent food menu and 100+ beers. The wait time for us was about 15 minutes, not too bad for St. Patty's Day. Love the beer hall, and there is a separate dining area if you want a little more of a quiet area. Likely the best Reuben I have had in a long time; highly recommended. We really enjoyed it here and can tell that it would be a cool spot when there is live music.

We've been twice and both times were wonderful. On our first visit, our server, Antonio, was superb. Great beer knowledge and recommendations. The food was delicious and if you've ever seen Movin Melvin you know the music and atmosphere were amazing! We've only sat outside, but there are two separate indoor areas with their own vibe. We'll certainly be adding this spot to our frequented locations.
