We decided to go here since we had a few hours to kill before our flight out if Buffalo. It was worth it. This cemetery is over 200 acres and has a lot of history. Rick James is buried here...but more important historical figures are as well. The monuments are so huge, varied and beautiful. Don't miss the big memorial that has the mother, the father looking down on their son...all marble figures in glass and concrete.

I'm standing on a bridge within the cemetery. Looking backwards and looking forward. I know there's a metaphor here, somewhere. The snow ❄️ is steadily coming down and it's cold. I know a lot of people buried here and each time I pay respects, during the grief - I feel it in my heart, reminded of the love that people shared. I'm going to share 3 quotes on death. Years ago, I met the Chilean 🇨🇱 American writer, Isabel Allendé at Klienhans. She said, " Just as when we come into the world, when we die, we are afraid of the unknown. But the fear is something from within us that has nothing to do with reality. Dying is like being born. Just a change". "Death smiles at us all, all a man can do is smile back", Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. And best for last, "... If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for - he isn't for to live...', Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Have a safe day folks.......

OMG! In the heart of Buffalo, an amazing place not to be missed! Many old famous Graves, beautiful, wonderful wildlife , peaceful, relaxing, heartwarming, not to mention the best place to be buried in. Several of my family members are buried there and someday I will be there too. I have taken my granddaughter there many times and she always happy as we see a lot of Wildlife and she enjoys learning about the rich history !

I normally visit cemeteries that are much older than this but this is, by far, the most beautiful. Take a tour. Grab a map from the office and visit the graves of many Buffalo celebrities. Great for walking.

Our group made a reservation for a trolley tour. It's well worth it. Not only are the grounds beautiful, but the guide was extremely knowledgeable.

Forest Lawn Cemetery is located in the heart of Buffalo and although in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, you can't help but feel in the country and at peace when on its grounds. The entire cemetery is well landscaped over rolling hills and scattered with lakes, ponds and a stream. The old time arcticecture and stones is something you just don't find anymore bringing you back in time. When it's time to start looking for a site, you will not find a more professional, caring team then the one at this cemetery. They are extremely fast at getting back to all questions and concerns and work around your schedule as much as possible. When finally meeting in person, they all sit down and listen to your needs and wants. They take you through the grounds and mark specific grave sites that are available. Upon completion, you go back to the main office where you will discuss further options, from payment, to stone types allowed all the way down to how many caskets/urns can be buried in a single plot. At no time do they pressure you and give you as much time as you need to make your decision for your loved ones or yourself. All financing is done in house and can be either paid up front in one single time where you will get 30% off the plot site or over a period of time with 10% down. When looking for a final resting place, look no further then the grounds of Forest Lawn Cemetery.

From my initial email to this review, my experience has been excellent. Erica called and arranged my parents’ burial and walked me through everything. The gentleman that met us at the entrance and let us to the family plot was sweet and patient, and the gentleman that waited for us to say goodbye and then put the ashes in the ground was very professional and kind. Both sides of my family are buried at Forest Lawn, and I have been going there since I was very small to “visit” and feed the ducks. I carried on this tradition with my children. I was very surprised to receive the message from Elizabeth extending her sympathies and making sure all went well! All of the staff at Forest Lawn made the experience of laying my parents’ to rest peaceful and and stress-less! Thank you from a grateful daughter. Suzanne

I love it here. Great for a walk, run or photography. Very scenic views. The cemetery is safe and clean. Security will escort you out around 430 as the cemetery closes at 5.

This is one of the most beautiful cemeteries I've ever seen. However, the process to bury a loved one here was terrible. It was a few years ago now, but burying my God-father here was awful. The people who worked here kept telling us how the caskets were stacked like pancakes. Don't ask me why she kept saying that to us when we were seeing if we could bury him with his mom. There were different quotes given to me and then my God mom when she got there to do arrangements (mine was much lower). Nothing was digitized so the lady pulled out an ancient book to pencil in that we were buying his ashes there. I couldn't go back to the cemetery after the graveside service for awhile I was so angry. Later, when we buried my grandmother, they broke the headstone and we walked on top of other flat headstones on a tarp to get the the grave side. It felt so disrespectful. It's beautiful to visit, but I don't think I want to bury anymore loved ones they're after my past few interactions with the business side there.

Beautiful, quiet place. Great place to walk, bike, and even drive through (maybe even go on a date! ;). I was a little surprised about that last bit, but I quickly realized how big the cemetary was and almost got lost! Fortunately, someone's marked the road so you can find your way out of the labyrinth!

I got a request from Forest Lawn to write a Google review, which is kind of odd. It's not like I'm a connoisseur of cemeteries, or some TikTok graveyard influencer. ("10/10 would recommend!") But I did just bury mom there and I have to say everything went perfectly. They were ready for our somewhat crowded procession to the grave, and the employees at the grave were professional and efficient. If you've never been there, Forest Lawn is full of trees, lakes, and historic memorials - a lovely, serene and transcendent place. I am glad mom and pop are there, together again.

There were no bathrooms. Was told to go out on Delaware ave in a neighborhood we were not familiar with and look for a bathroom. Would be pretty nerve racking for a tourist not knowing where to go. Was planning on spending the day there but had to leave. Visitors center was locked and didn’t feel very inviting. Not recommended for seniors or veterans or handicapped with urinary issues. No place to dispose of garbage and women at visitor center just gave us a map did not show interest in what we came for and willing to help us with directions

Great place to go for some peace and quiet. Also, a great place for bird watching and photography. Little annoyed that the bathrooms are still closed. Have been since around covid. Signs on the door state that something terrible and disgusting happened and that's why they're closed. I don't know what happened but it sure would be nice to go there (3 years later) and spend some time knowing that I can use the facilities if I have to.

Beautiful cemetery in the heart of the city. There's a US President buried there as well! Great for walks and jogs throughout and awesome tours as well (currently no tours due to COVID-19). Can't speak to their actual burial services this is purely about the "recreational" experience.

We appreciated the care and compassion that was shown to our family. Everything was handled in a professional manner. We are deeply grateful -- job well done!

The staff was exceptional with compassionate care for my family. They even followed up with calls and texts to check on us. I highly recommend Forest Lawn Buffalo as a resting place for a family member.

I recently took the trolley tour with my dad and was left with a deeper understanding of the people who made the city of Buffalo (and the world!) what it is today. It's a profound experience to move through a place where so many incredible spirits are all laid to rest. It's not only an absolutely beautiful natural space, but one that will leave you with a sense of pride in Buffalo. The guides were great and after having car trouble on the way to the tour and missing our appointment, the staff squeezed us in to another without trouble. Highly recommend visiting this wonderful place!

I lived across the street from here and this place is just serene and peaceful. The graves are works of art and the history is amazing. Class trips should be mandatory in this place because there are just so many historical people in it, many of whose names bypassed the books. The dead do talk to us if you listen closely enough

Recently we buried my mothers ashes at Forest Lawn. We had a Catholic mass two months earlier and we were waiting for better weather. Unfortunately the day we buried her ashes was cold and wet. We had a small service in one of their beautiful chapels. One of their employees , who use to be in the religious order gave a wonderful heartfelt talk about my mother, death and the process of dying. It moved me to tears. Forest Lawn is not only beautiful, the people who work there are compassionate, professional and quick to respond to needs. I would highly recommend their services when someone is faced with the death of a loved one.

Lovely cemetery! It’s well taken care of. It’s nice to know your loved ones are being cared for even in their after life. There is so much history in this gorgeous piece of land.
