One of the few stops of my cross country road trip from California to Maine. This location is somewhat hidden and far off of the interstate highway. This is the birthplace of Wilbur Wright, the older brother of the famous aviation duo. He is known, along with his younger brother, for his success in making the first free controlled flight of a power-driven airplane. He would later on die in 1912 due to typhoid fever. Would recommend this place for those interested in both aviation and American history.

Wonderful place to visit, lots to see and do! Families, groups and RV. Large parking lot in back of main facility and community room to rent. Picnic tables, grills and very clean bathrooms. RC plane and drone area. Lots of things for the kids to do and handicap accessible. Very happy with so much to see and experience. Museum, gift shop.

I don't think the museum was worth the $10 entrance fee so we skipped and just looked at the outside exhibits. There is enough information there to give you a good idea of his life.

This is definitely worth a couple hours to learn more about Wilbur Wright’s life journey from his birth in this house to his untimely death and the amazing things he did in between. He and Orville had no formal training and yet accomplished so much. Their contributions to air travel are noteworthy but they did much more than I understood prior to my visit. If you’re in the area, take the time to check it out!

We were burning across I-70 and saw the signs. It was quite a ways off the Interstate but very interesting. I only saw the one volunteer and she was running the store but she was very nice. Quality displays and quiet setting combined for a very nice afternoon.

Wonderful. So much history. Tour at your own leisure. Well kept ground's. They have discounts for senior citizens. Also other discounts. I live in Richmond indiana and to know the family lived on N 12th. N13th. And N14th street i found interesting. Richmond high school diploma. Want to learn history of Orville and Wilbur wright enjoy an afternoon at their homestead.

Awesome history stop. They are doing a fundraiser where you buy bricks with your name on it. It’s a awesome way to leave your mark and support the museum!

A little out of the way but worth the drive. Great history of an America great!

We arrived at 11:50am on a Wednesday. Saw a woman on the porch go inside as we drove in, and her car was parked in the lot. We were unable to gain access as the doors were locked, lights out, and the closed sign is on the door. Pretty disappointing after driving 1.5 hours to get here. The website says nothing about seasonal hours, and Google says it's open. Someone needs to take responsibility for updates.
