Just got home from a wonderful weekend stay in the Meadows Room. We were absolutely blown away by this beautiful property. We were looking to get away to a quiet and peaceful location that would have everything we needed to disconnect for a couple days. Well, let me tell you, Hawk Valley is perfect for just that! The hosts, John and Jim are fantastic. They provide help when needed, but not overbearing like some other bed & breakfast can be. We spent most of our time playing chess in the main living room, with the fireplace on and some coffee in hand. Every morning we received a delicious breakfast, handmade by the hosts. We even enjoyed the awesome Galena Halloween Parade. As we said goodbye this morning, we were already planning our next trip out here. We are hoping to snag a cottage next time around! Thanks John & Jim! :)

My wife and I were looking for somewhere small and intimate for us to elope. After searching for places in the galena area we came across Hawk Valley and were SOLD just by the pictures. Jim and John were both very communicative the 2 weeks leading up to our planned elopement and they made sure that we had everything we wanted for our wedding. Now fast forward to our time at Hawk Valley, boy did we NOT want to leave. Jim and John made our wedding absolutely incredible and just our overall experience a delight! Never did we ever think a wedding with no family and friends could feel so amazing and personal. The detail and thought that they both put into our special day left us speechless, it was everything we both wanted and SO much more. I mean, they even cooked us breakfast in the morning and oh my lordddd was is delicious! My wife and I both agreed that we will make sure to make it back here at least once a year for a get away for a beautiful remembrance of an amazing wedding.

I can’t speak highly enough about our stay and experience at Hawk Valley! My husband and I got married there this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect. From the Hillside cottage we stayed in, the FOOD(absolutely delicious), the nature, the animals, the elopement package/mini moon package, the ceremony, the pictures, the everything, it was absolutely wonderful. 100/10 recommend, and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you so much, Jim and John for this experience and all that you both do. Outstanding. 😊

You have to stay at this quiet, peaceful, relaxing B&B. Everything here was beyond my expectations. We stayed in the Garden Room. You couldn’t even tell anyone else was in the house except the occasional shutting of door or footsteps down the hall. They have a large common area with a fireplace and beverage bar and connecting dining room. At the front entrance they have brochures and maps of the many things to do in the area. The hosts were available to answer any questions and give recommendations. Now let’s talk the breakfast!! Amazing!! Made from scratch and sooo delicious. You never walked away hungry. They offered two sittings 8:30 or 9:00. Can’t say enough about this place. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

We highly recommend a get away to the Hawk Valley property!! Our cottage was perfect, just enough space, beautifully decorated and just the right amount of privacy!! Loved seeing the bee boxes! Breakfast was fantastic each morning and loved talking to John and Jim about the area and getting tips on things to explore! We recommend a balloon ride, visiting House on the Rock and antique shopping!! We look forward to our future stay!

We had an amazing stay. Highly recommend going during the fall because of how pretty it is. My partner proposed while we were there. I can’t wait to go back for our anniversary. The complimentary breakfast and treats made our stay extra special. Such a relaxing getaway and I love that it’s adult only. Perfect for a couple’s trip!

My husband and I loved everything about our stay! Our cottage was cozy and intimate, the breakfasts were to die for, the sunset views were gorgeous and our campfires were complete with howling coyotes, hooting owls and honking geese! We will most definitely be back!! John and Jim were great hosts and we loved all of the little extras to make the stay even more special. ❤️

This was our second visit and everything was wonderful again! There is a great balance of privacy and opportunities to interact as little or as much as you choose, which my husband and I appreciate. The breakfasts are amazing and feel like a special treat, both the delicious food and the thoughtful service. We took advantage of the marked walking path to get some exercise and enjoy the goats and chickens on the acreage. The separate cottages are cozy without being too small, and we enjoyed the veggie lasagna one night and the charcuterie board on another board (separate costs). We look forward to our next visit!
