Came in Sunday evening. Was just hoping to enjoy a beer and support a previously strong local business's reopening. New space was nice. However, I stood at the bar to order for 5 minutes with multiple staff ignoring me before I asked if I was suppose to order at bar of if there was table service. Told there was table service and sat at table 15 minutes with multiple empty-hand staff passing me without even a greeting. I've always wondered what it would be like to be invisible. Guess I got my taste of that experience. I left. Waiting 20+ minutes to order a drink is nuts. I was reluctant to post review, but saw a customer with an even worse experience and management's response. I understand it is very hard to run a service business this day of age, new staff, etc. But there was also seemingly no management present to help support staff and assist customer who weren't receiving service. That is unacceptable for all parties involved! Just makes for frustrated staff and customers.

Had a really good burger and a beer. Nice place. I like the not so fancy feel to it. Cool to see folks with their pooches. Dog friendly. 👍

This is a great place to go for some top notch craft beer and spirits. To find it though, you have to know where to find it. From the road, the building looks like any of the other non descript commercial buildings in the area, but once you see the silos outside, you know you have made it. For food, they offer food trucks and you can bring your own food as well. They have their regular offerings and like most other breweries, have seasonal and special releases. The staff there is amazing! They are all very helpful, friendly, and willing to share their knowledge. It is a welcoming atmosphere and they also offer a heated igloo for sitting outside. We didn't try the food, but the beers were all top notch. If you are in the East Lansing area, Ellison is only a mile or so from the Michigan State University campus. I highly recommend a visit!

While this place is a little out of the way, off Grand river, it is well worth the hunt. It has outdoor seating as well as indoor. It seems dog friendly on the outdoor patio. I had a pint of the American Ale. It was tasty! Next time in the area, I will try the food..

I was looking for a good brewery and this place was perfect. Dog friendly, great atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff. I was helped right away after sitting down by Pagan who was super friendly. All of her recommendations were spot on. Pagan was very attentive and easy to talk to. She was very passionate about Ellison Brewery and I could tell that she really cares about giving exceptional service. Can't wait to go back and try the nachos along with a hand crafted cocktail or beer. 5 stars all the way!

Dreadful experience. So bad it was hilarious. Ordered a margarita pizza and pretzels with beer cheese via DoorDash. Order was almost an hour late in preparation (not delivery... preparation). Received my order via my delivery driver within 10 minutes of it being finished at the restaurant but it was stone cold. Not one leaf of basil on it despite it being a margarita pizza. Couldn't figure out why it was so spicy but after some investigation I discovered the sauce is full of raw (and crunchy) chunks of garlic. Pizza was literally smashed against the box as well and totally cold so it couldn't have been during delivery. Pretzels were ice cold, hard, and soggy. Beer cheese was so cold it was congealed. Laughable. It all went straight into the trash and was totally inedible. I called and the front desk said they were not able to process a refund.

If you like spicy, the Brewer's Special is absolutely delicious! The beers are good (not great), but the Marzenbier was quite good. Bree was very helpful.

Went to try them out after a friend mentioned we have a local distillery in town! I was really impressed with their work until the bartender mentioned it wasn't theirs. Apparently they buy the liquor in bulk and just put it in barrels??? I didn't even know that was legal, but either way it's a shady copout if you're calling yourself a distillery.

Terrible service. Walked in and stood at bar for 10 min and was ignored for 10 min. Could not get the attention of the bartender who was drinking a beer and chatting with guests at the bar. Walked outside to patio and sat for 30 min before being greeted. Ordered one round which took 20 min to receive and then sat 15 min with empty glass. Finally received water after asking 3 times. I had better service at Denny’s.

If you don't know exactly where this place is, you'll want to use your GPS because it's not visible from Grand View. I've only been here a few times but have enjoyed it. Personally, I prefer their beer over their spirits, but that doesn't mean that they aren't good. The peach punch is very tasty, not sweet. The Caipirinha is a little sweeter, which I enjoyed. They don't serve food but do have popcorn as a snack Very cool atmosphere with a mixture of eclectic art and the brewing stills in view. Seems to usually be busy (not packed) and a little bit on the louder side, as to be expected in a busy brewery.

They make good beer. Much better than some other local brands, and way better than a watered down Bell's. The Tiramisu stout is amazing. But I'm not too sure of everything they have listed, such as their lambic. I believe that a lambic has particular wild yeasts that it ferments with in Europe.

Ordered nachos. Over a half hour later they came out soggy and lukewarm. The beer was ok. Not worth the price and terrible service. There are better bars and food all over.

Excellent food & beer! I’ve been drinking Ellison beers for years but this was my first time visiting the brewery. Really enjoyed their lager & hazy pale ale. The pizzas were wonderful. Wings are $1 on Sundays and those were great, too. Spicy Buffalo sauce wasn’t too spicy. Friendly service.

The service was very slow. We got there at 5 and we didn’t get our food until 7:30. Only good thing was the food and drinks were pretty good but they definitely weren’t worth the wait They forgot my order as well. We complained about the wait and how they forgot some of our food and they were very rude.

We have come many times and enjoyed the beer. Today’s visit, not so much. Tried two different beers both with some off-flavors and not up to standard I have seen in the past. We think you should know.

Good beer but food took a long time and was cool when recieved. Then when you pay your choice for tip were skip, 25%, 30% or custom. Who's going to take the time to do the custom tip. I should have pushed skip!

Went to the new Ellison in reo town and it was great!!!! Our server Elijah was extremely friendly, personable, and quick to get everything we asked for! I got the goat cheese fig pizza and it was so good!

Had vodka and cranberry juice to drink, that was fine. Ordered nachos and they took forever. When we finally got them they were the saddest looking nachos I’ve ever seen. Barely any chicken or pico de gallo. My bf’s jalapeño bread was burnt on the bottom. We were both very disappointed.

Disappointed. From reading other reviews it seems like there oven "breaks down alot". Very limited beer menu and on our visit they pretty much only had appetizers available. Doubt I'll return. Server was awesome though. No Wow factor here.

Disappointing. We were meeting family in Lansing and decided to meet at one of our favorite breweries. I checked their website to validate they had the stuff we liked on their menu (we were taking my mom). Validated hand-held sandwiches, validated the beers, jalapeno bread etc. We get there and they have a puny menu. No jalapeno bread, no hand held sandwiches, no IPA. I ask the waitress about the menu I saw online. "We don't have a website" was the response. I explained I was on there just this morning. I got some response about them not being in control of said website???? I don't know what's going on there - but TAKE DOWN YOUR WEBSITE if it isn't valid. Whatever. We decide to move on and place the order for a couple of pizzas only to be told 10 minutes later, their pizza oven just broke. Whatever. I don't hold a broken pizza oven against them, those things happen, but I just think the entire visit was a bad experience. Small beer selection, small food selection, website that is theirs but out of their control. Not the Ellison we know and love!

Location is a little tricky to find. Beers are pretty good, service is great! Detroit Frankie pizza was there making up some wood fired pies! Delicious! BRB fruit ale was delicious. Next time we'll try some of the house distilled liquors

Steer clear of this place. The owner has driven the brand into the ground with cutting corners. Very shady guy. Eating or drinking anything you are likely putting yourself at risk for some kind of food borne illness. 5/6 years ago it was great but the owner heard “expansion” and it’s been downhill since.
