Hands down, the best soulfood in this area! As a country boy from the backwoods of VA who grew up eating this same food from scratch, that's a compliment. I had given up on finding anything like this in the area, but I'm glad I stumbled across this spot. Definitely coming back and sending anyone I know.

This place was amazing!!! The environment was comfy and modern. The service was wonderful. Shabaz who was on of the servers was lovely, funny and hospitable. The food, I don’t know where to start. The food was delicious and so flavorful.10 out of 10. It’s a must go to if you are in the Essex area.

Listen…not everybody can fry catfish without making it greasy. They did it right! And my son was quiet the whole time while eating his fried chicken. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the staff was attentive and welcoming. We finally found a soul food spot that we like close to home; we’ll be back!

Great restaurant and great staff. I have tried a few dishes, and none were disappointing. The Cornbread is official. And the baked chicken. Is my go-to. The sides are really good too. Will be doing a group meeting here next since my staff is craving the chicken and waffles. Please keep up with this great food. Pictures are from the first week they opened.

After learning my buddy Meka had a hand in this spot, I had to give it a try! Bold move to open a fried chicken and soul food spot next door to a popular fried chicken place & down the block from a well known soul food / cornbread place…. but mannnn when I tell you this place blew both out of the water! Flavors, on point. Location and ambiance, nailed it. Good soul food variety, A+. Customer service, great. And did I mention the amazing taste!?!? Hands down the best fried chicken, Mac and cheese and cornbread I’ve had in NJ. Good vibes across the board! Run here people! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
