AVOID
AT
ALL
COSTS.
Imagine
spending
a
vacation
you’ve
saved
up
for
for
years
too
sick
to
get
out
of
bed
due
to
taking
a
medication
used
to
treat
a
disease
that
doesn’t
exist
in
that
country.
Imagine
paying
hundreds
of
dollars
for
the
privilege.
We
were
prescribed
anti-malarials,
which
are
extremely
hard
on
the
body,
for
a
trip
to
Bali
which
has
had
ZERO
cases
of
malaria
since
2017.
It’s
rated
in
the
lowest
category
of
risk
and
anti-malarials
are
NOT
RECOMMENDED.
Not
only
that,
but
the
nurse
was
very
far
from
transparent,
overstating
‘dangers’
in
order
to
con
us
into
buying
EXPENSIVE,
unnecessary
medication.
Instead
of
us
that
that
are
fewer
than
1,000
cases
of
Japanese
Encephalitis
in
all
of
Indonesia
per
year,
she
focused
on
the
remote
chance
of
fatality
in
the
case
of
infection.
She
should
have
told
us
that
for
the
short
duration
of
our
stay,
chances
of
infection
are
one
in
a
million.
This
medication
cost
us
$1,000
dollars
and
we
didn’t
even
complete
the
second
dose,
which
would
have
cost
another
grand.
At
best
this
provider
was
a
shameless
grifter.
At
worst
she
borders
on
malpractice.
Despite
having
filled
out
a
detailed
form
in
regards
to
our
travel
plans
prior
to
our
appointment,
she
clearly
knew
nothing
about
the
country
and
did
not
seem
to
have
even
read
the
information
we
provided.
Dangers
were
overstated
and
we
spent
the
time
at
a
5-star
resort
thinking
that
all
the
food
was
poison
and
that
going
outside
could
kill
us.
I
am
beyond
appalled
that
I
have
to
leave
this
place
even
a
single
star.
I
was
foolish
to
think
that
a
travel
clinic
would
actually
do
their
duty
to
responsibly
explain
the
risks
in
order
for
us
to
make
an
informed
decision.
Lesson
learned:
always
do
your
own
research
first.
And
beyond
that,
DO
NOT
GET
YOUR
VACCINES
HERE.
You
will
regret
it-
I
certainly
do.
Find
a
clinic
with
ethical
and
transparent
practices
that
trains
their
staff.
