This review has been updated for the second time based on the past 60~ days having lived here, Previous rating was 3 stars. Summarizing things based on personal perspective. Alrighty, so, recently things with managment have gotten to the point where anytime I pass by the main office there is a new face there, and when I ask if theyre a permanent feature or if they're just another temp, they're a temp. I have no idea who is running this circus of a company but they should step down as they have no idea what theyre doing. Hire a manager, and keep them there, stop turning the office into a revolving door of temporary hires, at this point I cannot be bothered to try and remember every new persons name because theres a 50/50 chance they'll be fired, replaced, or otherwise no longer coming to the office. I damn near feel like I need to compile a "New Hire" pamphlet for every single new manager or leasing agent that gets assigned here so they can at least get caught up to speed with all the god awful handling of this place. How is anything supposed to get accomplished when there is no manner of permanence happening? In the past two weeks of visiting the office i've seen no less than 8 residents that were either on the verge of tears or trying to cancel their lease due to this company failing to hold up their end of the lease contract. For anyone wanting to rent within a couple weeks of this udpated review going out, look up renters rights and have a renters rights lawyers information handy in case you decide to rent here, because at this point I fear the only way you can get anything accomplished with with a court order or lawsuit.

I haven't had any issues with this place until recently. I had to move out of state due to work emergencies and now I am paying rent in 2 locations. I asked about terminating my lease, MOST property management companies have a fee and usually willing to negotiate, but I have never seen a fee this high. If I terminate my lease it's going to cost me about $10,000. Most places don't charge this absurd amount. The stars are for Yvette because she's awesome, but this company is grossly unfair in their renters. In case of emergencies, I would not sign a year lease with them a lot can happen in 1 year and most property management companies understand that.

Date of Review: 4/11/2023 - Toured this apartment complex earlier this year. It was very fresh and new, but already showing significant signs of wear and tear, like tenants didn’t use caution when walking down hallways not to scrape walls. We ultimately decided not to lease an apartment here for two reasons: 1. the bedrooms in the 1BR1BA townhomes and 2BR2BA apartments were so small, we didn’t even know how we’d get our king-sized bed in there and 2. while touring, we noticed a handful of folks with whiteboards on the outside of their apartment doors, similar to a college dorm room atmosphere, with one even having writing, “F—- You!” on it.

I sent in an inquiry on Wednesday, heard nothing back. Tried again on Friday, still nothing I live at the Triple Crown apartments, and because they’re trashy, I was looking for something else, but can’t get an answer Tells me all I need to know. Your questions will go unanswered, so I assume any concerns will be met with the same response, none Maybe hire professionals that can do their job

No parking pass system implemented. People have company vehicle / vans parked in parking lot that take up more than one parking space. Which makes me think there’s a possibility of having two cars parked in parking lot. Meanwhile you can’t park on side of road without risk of being towed or ticketed. People have resulted in parking in handicap spots and moving their cars before staff members get in because underground parking is $70. In Shakopee Minnesota!? Crazy!! $30 okay but $70?? Do better. I’ve tried bringing this concern through voicemail in the past but no response. Something needs to be done because with snow coming nobody should have their car towed nor ticketed for parking on side of building they live in!! We aren’t in Minneapolis!! This complex has made it nearly impossible to pay for parking on top of paying $1300+ for an apartment no bigger than 570 sq ft with no amenities besides a ping pong table and a coffee machine that has had fruit flies last month in it. I do love my apartment don’t get me wrong but this is outrageous. Parking passes need to at least be implement. If you don’t have enough spaces for each resident to have one parking pass then ??? Hello?? There needs to be surrounding parking..? Or lower your parking garage fee!! Nobody who lives here should have the risk of their car getting towed or ticketed. There’s no need for that where we are located. Sorry for being a Karen but this needed to be said for our complex sake. I’m tired of it. Nobody should have to worry about this. It’s not the “chance” you take when you decide not to pay $70. Some people genuinely can’t afford that extra bill. Times are tough truly. Where is the compassion?

The apartments are very nice. Great price, plenty of space, great layout options, and clean. Located next to Shakopee downtown which is nice. The staff has been very responsive. Dani, has been great at responding quickly to any maintenance requests. The only downside is the sound at night. It is right next to multiple train crossings as well as its an area that has a lot of cars revving engines at night.

Overall a great place to live. Safe, reliable, and great staff. Pros: - Super pretty units. - Central Air and Heat are affordable and keep the place cool/warm at all times - Huge kitchens. As someone who cooks a lot, the kitchen is fantastic. - Built in privacy blinds (we put up blackout curtains in our bedroom for the light) - Affordable utility costs. - Secured entry - Never lose packages or mail - In unit washer and dryer are fabulous - We basically live on our balcony. Love that most of the units have them. - very little neighbor noise! - Maintenance is handled quickly. - Walking/biking trail access is amazing. - Nice people! - Overall, we have loved living here and highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Cons: - Train is noisy, but you get used to it. - Units are pretty small for the price, but that’s what you get for the nice kitchens, in unit laundry, etc. - Gym is not included in price. Not the end of the world, just didn’t know at first. - Not a ton of storage space. We pay $35 for a storage closet for our Christmas tree and some other stuff. - Parking has been tough lately. When we first moved in, they were less than 50% capacity, so we got our choice of parking spots. Now there are times in the evening that there are none available in the main lot. Underground parking is $50 if you start in the summer and $75 if you start in the winter. Great place to live. Listen to reviews from people who have lived here!! *photos from our original tour last year*

I moved here from the east coast. Needless to say I blindly rented from Shakopee Flats. I was NOT disappointed when I saw my NEW apartment :) It's beautiful! However, with ALL newer construction, there are a few hiccups, but my concerns were addressed & solved in a timely manner. I had the pleasure of working with Kenya, the regional manager. She was very understanding, put herself in my shoes, and took care of me. I know from previous reviews she walked into sort of a mess. A lot of companies are dealing with keeping help these days, and especially good help. I would say Ms. Kenya is a keeper! My view of the river is AMAZING! The property is quiet, CLEAN, and people are friendly. If you don't want to hear the train, spend the extra money for a unit that is facing the river! You will be in heaven. :)
