I
switched
to
Ark-La-Tex
from
Regional
in
hopes
of
a
more
personal,
less
"human
cattle"
experience,
as
was
the
case
with
Regional.
Unfortunately,
my
experience
has
only
been
slightly
better
at
Ark-La-Tex.
The
1st
appointment
I
attended
I
watched
a
nurse
make
fun
of
an
elderly
man
who
appeared
to
be
suffering
from
dementia,
she
was
behind
his
back
making
faces
to
the
receptionist.
Totally
classless,
unethical,
and
unprofessional.
The
wait
time
was
almost
2
hours
for
my
1st
appointment.when
I
was
the
last
person
left
in
the
waiting
room
I
asked
the
receptionist
if
I
had
been
forgotten.
I
was
met
with
disdain
and
a
horrible
attitude,
how
dare
a
lowly
patient
question
the
receptionist.
On
today's
visit
to
have
my
labs
drawn
prior
to
my
appointment
tomorrow
as
I
have
been
instructed
to
do
by
my
physician,,
I
was
met
again
with
resistance
from
reception.
When
I
tried
to
explain
my
situation,
I
got
the
"you
don't
know
what
you're
talking
about"
spiel
from
reception.
So,
I
finally
asked
her,
"do
I
need
to
find
somewhere
else
to
go
to
be
treated?"
The
receptionist
said,
"That'll
be
fine".
Obviously
no
concept
of
patient
care.
Eventually,
a
nurse
came
from
the
back
and
she
put
her
two
fingers
up
and
said
"Mr.
YOUNG,
COME
HERE!"
...like
I
was
a
misbehaving
preschooler.
She
then
handed
me
some
paperwork
and
said
"Go
upstairs
to
the
lab!"
No
"sorry
for
the
misunderstanding"
or
"here's
what
you
need
to
do
to
a
oid
this
in
the
future"....just
the
unfortunately
typical
attitude
that
is
way
too
common
in
the
medical
field
today
where
the
emphasis
is
much
more
on
quantity
rather
than
quality
and
patient
care.
So,
unfortunately,
my
"diagnosis"
of
Ark-La-Tex
Urology
is
that
it
is
just
another
"human
meat
market"
specializing
how
many
patients
they
can
bill
in
the
shortest
amount
of
time.
Very
little
in
the
way
of
compassion
and
patient
empathy.
