Had
an
IUD
placed
and
had
a
cervical
biopsy
done
at
the
same
time
here
in
2020
by
a
male
doctor
I
had
never
seen
before.
When
I
asked
why
my
OB
wasn’t
going
to
be
the
one
to
put
it
in,
I
was
told
the
man
I
was
scheduled
with
was
the
only
one
who
was
authorized
to
do
it
at
the
Johnson
Center.
Dr.
Brian
Assent
was
the
man
who
ended
up
treating
me.
I
was
refused
pain
management
or
any
local
anesthetic
for
this
procedure,
and
was
told
to
take
a
tylenol.
The
pain
was
the
worst
thing
I
have
ever
experienced
in
my
entire
life,
causing
me
to
cry
and
shake.
The
doctor
was
visibly
frustrated
at
my
crying
and
he
said
to
me
“If
you’re
going
to
be
difficult,
then
I
won’t
continue.”
After
it
was
finished,
he
made
no
effort
for
bed
side
manner
or
talking
to
me
about
what
had
happened.
Before
I
had
my
next
OB
appointment,
I
called
to
explain
the
situation
and
that
I
wanted
add
a
complaint
note
to
my
chart
about
that
doctor
and
that
I
wanted
it
written
down
that
I
was
mistreated
and
I
never
wanted
to
see
him
ever
again.
They
didn’t
take
me
seriously
and
told
me
he
had
nothing
but
glowing
reviews
from
other
patients,
and
I
said
I
found
that
very
hard
to
believe.
Invasive
procedures
like
this
without
proper
care
aren’t
normal.
Biopsies
without
pain
management,
IUD
insertion
without
pain
management
is
not
normal.
The
dismissal
of
patients
who
ask
for
pain
management
for
these
premieres
is
completely
unacceptable,
and
a
doctor
having
poor
bedside
manner
when
a
patient
for
crying
while
undergoing
those
invasive
procedures
because
they
are
in
pain
for
being
refused
any
sedation
is
even
more
unacceptable.
This
review
is
late,
but
I
wanted
to
share
that
experience
for
others
who
are
asking
that
kind
of
treatment
so
that
they
can
advocate
for
themselves
to
have
proper
pain
management
as
well
as
to
be
treated
by
a
doctor
they’re
familiar
with.
