AMAZING bar owned by local artists. I was visiting from out of town from NYC so I'm not easily impressed but this place blew me away. It has live music with wonderful artists playing gorgeous music on the guitar almost every night with their biggest night being the multiple acts starting at 5pm and continuing till 10pm on Saturday. The beer is incredibly cheap but good and they have a great variety of drinks, liquor, beer, wine, etc. The owners, especially Julia, are so so friendly, really willing to talk with you be you a tourist or local alike. Plenty of space to sit inside and it has a cosy, fun, yet intimate atmosphere that would make this place perfect for either date night or a fun outing with friends. Do yourself a favor and come experience this place for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Lame house band cost $10pp to watch them struggle to find the right key for the first set. Lady owner likes to just stand on the stage. I hope they found the right key next set. We left. Too much music in AVL to waste time here. Edit: Since I cannot reply to the owner's reply I have no choice but to edit my review. The "experience" we were hoping for was music from professional musicians, not a social club gathering of friends. Mighty neighborly of you to charge $10 for a rehearsal. You keep mentioning "local" this and that, yet we overheard you talking about Florida and Atlanta with the couple next to us. However, geography has nothing to do with a quality music venue. We don't want our money back, we're just inserting a PSA for Google users to get an accurate depiction of your "guitar" bar.

Very nice small venue often featuring stellar local talent. Husband & wife (Mark & ??) own/run it - clearly for reasons of passion for quality music and reflected in their tasteful and comfortable decor. Cozy/comfy furnishings that include an outside deck, reasonably priced cover charge and drinks - what's not to like? No food available, but Mark says you're welcome to bring something in. Check their Facebook page for talent line-up and come enjoy!

I stopped by Asheville Guitar Bar during my recent visit to Asheville and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of my trip. It's a cozy, eclectic space with a friendly and welcoming crowd, which meant a lot as a solo traveler. The 40, 20, 10's band was so good, and it was fun to see the owner Mark get up and play harmonica with them. So glad to have stumbled on this musical gem.

Great little bar! Some of the beer is $1-2 more than I’m used to seeing, but it’s a small place and the selection is pretty good. The venue is a lot of fun, the atmosphere is very inviting and the owners are very friendly! We will definitely be back next time we visit Asheville and highly recommend others check it out! They had Miami Gold playing while we were there. The band was great and a lot of fun to listen to/watch! Definitely check it out!

The atmosphere was nice enough, friendly staff and guitar decor was cool. I went to a Sunday open jam run by the guitar player with medium sized talent and COLOSSAL ego. I’ve been playing for 35 years, thought I’d sit in, like promoted, I didn’t. That’s okay, but why be such an unpleasant host. It’s not an open jam. Don’t waste your time.

Had a great time! Per a recommendation from a friend of mine...I saw some of the best musicians I've ever seen huddle in this quaint location. The guitar playing, obviously the focus here was amazing! The owners mingle, work and are gracious. They truly get the full pulse of the clientele! This is a must visit when coming to Asheville!!!

Love this place! We were out exploring the River Arts District. Hitting a few places. Was planning on stopping by for one beer, but we ended up staying for four hours! A couple of beers and a bottle of wine, cheese board, live music, hanging out with strangers & great service make for a wonderful night.

Came to Asheville for 2 days from Mismi looking for some good live music venues. I stumbled across Asheville Guitar Bar on a Saturday night and was greeted by Mark the owner .. The Atmosphere was very appealing and the band playing Miami Gold Put on a spectacular Show. Looking forward to my return visit in October

Fantastic. What a quaint place and the music was just fabulous. We took in "Mr Jimmy's Friday Night Blues" and really enjoyed the ambiance, people and musicianship. The inside was busy by the time we got there, so we sat out back on the deck. Just a great time. They have music on other nights as well!

This small, eclectic bar is a fun place to hear live music intimately. The owners are a couple who greet you when you come in with enormous amounts of hospitality. The bar serves a nice selection of craft beer and has a good wine list. The decor is a collection of guitars and music memorabilia. Comfortable couches and chairs are scattered throughout the small space as well as bar stools. They invite Musical groups that offer Lounge Style music in many genres at a bearable audio level that allows you to sit and listen and even talk to your friends at the same time.! The relaxed, comfortable atmosphere combined with good drinks and friendly people is a reason to keep coming back to this gem in Asheville.

Every Friday through Sunday the bar owners bring in great local music. Fridays is blues Saturday's Rock and Sunday is an eclectic version that can include a potluck meal. They have local beers on tap and the owners are really friendly.

Fantastic, intimately cozy, family owned music venue. Owners always there and often play with the bands. Beer and wine only, and you can bring in your own food or have it delivered. Variety of music is great. Venue is super cool with lots on instruments hanging and other cool wall ornamentation

During my trip to Ashville, I contacted Mark to introduce myself and request an opportunity to visit. In short, I was blown away from the total experience. I can't tell you, which impressed me more. The talent was spectacular, the warmth of the ambience was inviting, Mark, his wife and the crew was are lovely people and real pros, but the soul of this gem are the patrons. They love this place and are seemingly a family. Don't miss stopping by. Thank you all for a great night.

Loved this place. It was like going to a private house party where everyone feels like family or friends. We are in our 50s & 60s & really had a good time. The owner & his wife were great to talk to.

Amazing atmosphere and felt extremely welcomed by the locals and staff! By far one of the best live music bars in the Ashville area. If you like music and good vibes this is definitely a place to go check out! Thank you to all the musicians and owners!

Went for a drink after dinner (around 8pm) 10 dollar cover ( disappointed) standing room only. (Cover was over priced for standing room only and quality of the band. Neat SMALL place with a ok band. Had to sit on the back deck with a window that if you sat in the right place you could see the heads of the band members. No speakers on the deck so sound was distant. NOTE: go early to get a seat, if their all taken go elsewhere. The place was decorated with a great guitar theme which was very cool!!!
