I did not expect to find the real building still standing, but here it is. Along with a small museum, nice bathrooms and a great garden (big) to stroll around in. The original building is out back of the visitors center... don't miss it.

I wish we could find more Visitor centers in small communities like Langtry, Texas! South of Route 90, it’s a must-do if you’re passing through the area. Easy parking for all types/sizes vehicles (RV friendly). Large, clean restrooms. Free wifi! Free admission that includes short video clips on the history of the area and a self guided walking tour of several small structures based off of local history and a well maintained garden of local cactus and plants. Countless maps and information* provided by friendly locals running the museum. We easily spent an hour here hanging out, walking and diving into the local history in the museum. * One small book included that we found especially helpful, listed all the camping in the entire state of Texas! It is well laid out and alphabetized by city name and includes all amenities (we were surprised by how many were FREE). What’s close by?? TINY Post office is across the street from Welcome Center/Museum (we only used the drop box located outside) and there was a small local convenience store on the other side of the Museum (didn’t go in but it was open).

Great pit stop with a great Texas visitor center. Easy close parking, with ample clean restrooms. Nice photo opportunities and expansive cactus garden. Front desk staff gave us some great tips for our trip to Big Bend. Stop in and stretch out your legs. Recommend

First-rate little museum that is well-worth a visit. It was fun seeing buildings I’d only seen in history books. The site is well-maintained and contains wonderful gardens that feature native plants. So beautiful and interesting! Their enormous century plant was getting ready to bloom, and the ocotillos actually had leaves on it since the area had just received some much-needed rainfall. Very nice visitors center with exhibits and travel information. We enjoyed visiting with the two ladies working there.

Such a good stop if you’re driving by in the area, there’s so much history there like info on a bear that drinks beer. Also don’t forget that the attendant’s there are very knowledgeable about the history of the area and that they given us pamphlets of other close by state parks and attractions and don’t forget to stop by the Pecos River picnic area overlook for some nice views overlooking the beautiful bridge and Pecos river where my family stopped for a picnic!

Judge Roy Bean's place is now owned by the State of Texas, and should definitely be on your list if you're in West Texas. The staff there are extremely helpful. They gave us tips on where to go, how to get there, and what to see. The bathrooms are clean, and the historical information is very cool. They have a lot of old artifacts and historical items related to West Texas and Judge Roy Bean. They also still have the Jersey Lily Saloon, where Judge Bean dispensed his version of Texas Justice. Interesting for both kids and adults. Highly recommend visiting. Bring stamps, as there is a post office across the street that is the perfect place to mail a postcard from.

Hello reader. This place is a few seconds off 90 and totally worth the trip! It is a state of texas facility that is super friendly, very clean and the garden is very well done. It is the homestead of a very colorful Texan justice of the peace and bar owner from the cowboy days. There was a movie made about him with Paul Newman etc. the man held court out is his bar/ Bullard hall. Which was preserved. And he had a bear, dude was in love with an English opera singer and build a little opera house so if she came to the town she could profits in it. She showed up a few months after he died. the staff is awesome. And they have stickers and postcards for free which you can mail from the post office for 51 cents each as of 7/23. Stop by and show support great people great little museum. Good luck reader. You can see Mexico and the rio if you heard south on Torres st. It’s kinda cool.
