I recently came her just to try scuba but everyone there made it clear to me that being a diver is so much more than just going underwater, and the experiences with everyone at Mac's was one I've never had! they made me feel like family and I am incredibly thankful that I was later chosen for The Brian Grindey Scholarship thus allowing me to get open water certified! I am eternally grateful for all the good memories that I was left with, thank you Will and Russ!

I got a "diving class" gift for my birthday at Mac's Sports store back in May 2022 ))) I decided to go to the Open Water Diver course only in June 2023, which I was very happy about! Our group was taught by William Grindey. In my opinion, this is the best and most fun instructor you can have. It was very easy to learn and get new diving skills with him. If something didn’t work out for someone, he was happy to help figure it out. And another important point, at the time of training, my English was not very good and I told Will about it. He told me not to worry, and if something was not clear, he would personally explain everything to me, and it was so. In general, I am extremely glad that I took this course in this store and with this instructor. I advise everyone.....

Had the best time learning how to dive with Keith grubbs and our amazing scuba team. It has been a memorable time and we made friends for life. Keith is so patient, kind and funny. It made this whole experience easy and exciting. Any wait to go on dive adventures with Mac sports.

I had a great experience getting certified as an Open Water Diver at Macs Sports. I started out with their free one hour trial class on a Saturday morning to see how I felt about it and after that I felt comfortable and was super excited to get started with their scuba certification class. They provided most of the equipment needed other than mask and fins but had some great options right in the shop for purchase. Keith was an amazing instructor with decades of diving experience under his belt. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating to everyone’s schedules. This was a 6 week course. Our group met at Macs pool once per week and then finished with two trips for open water dives at Hudson Grotto and Rainbow River which were both great diving experiences. I couldn’t recommend Macs more. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and also provide a great experience overall.

My name is Clint and I am a first time aspiring scuba diver. The owner Mike made me feel very welcomed and comfortable during my in store experience. He got me signed up for my open water cert and my nitrox class. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I got all of my snorkel gear at Mac’s and wish I waited to buy my BC there as well. The prices are incredible and they will match any price you can find. can’t wait to start my classes in January.

I recently took my nitrox class at Macs which was a great experience. Kevin presented the material in an easy to understand matter and ensured we were all ready for the test. Mike helped me make a purchase on a used regular and BC which worked perfectly for me. Highly recommend Macs for scuba!

I live in Newport News VA. My mother and father moved from WV to Hudson, FL six months ago. I had just finished my open water scuba cert pool work and class room work at the time my parents moved to FL. I searched for a SSI dive shop close to Hudson to see if I could complete Open Water in FL. That is how I found MAC Sports and the Master Diver called Billy! He allowed me to completed training and we dove at that time in Rainbow River. I had the best of time. Billy stayed in touch with me and sent me info about a trip to the Keys with his MAC sports family. I signed up and brought my wife and my mom and dad met us there. We flew into Miami and drove to Key Largo. First time to the Keys. Billy set up all my hotel arrangements and diving. Billy cooked dinner for entire group Friday night. WOW. The dives on Sat and Sun were amazing. I can say this with certainty, being on two dive events now, Billy’s MAC Sports family out of Tarpon Springs is the best. Did not feel like an outsider and glad to say I feel part of this family now. Thank you so much Billy, we all had the best trip due to you!

I had a great experience receiving my open-water dive certification with Mac's. Our instructor, Keith, was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and supportive of everyone in the class. We just completed a refresher course with Steve Nunemaker; we had originally certified back in 2011, but stopped diving just before the pandemic. Steve was really personable and very knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable again with getting in the water. He took the time to answer our questions as well as quiz us with things we should know (and had forgot). He also helped me get a new prescription dive mask, picked out a great option. Thanks Steve, and Mac’s!

I walked into Mac’s and Keith Grubbs helped me pick out a complete dive rig which I used through my certification class. Keith was patient, understanding and made sure everyone us in the class got comfortable with diving. The class was very focused on building competency and capability to dive. I am looking forward to more dives and developing my skills. Everyone at Mac’s was very helpful and supportive. Really cool that the shop has been around since 1978 and still helping everyone learn to dive. Thanks to Keith and everyone e at Mac’s!!!

My husband and I signed up for the Open Water Dive certification in December and from the time we first walked into the shop to when we received our cards, we had a wonderful experience! Mikell was our instructor and he was phenomenal - he made the classes exciting and answered all of our questions. I can't wait to go on dives with this group - everyone in the shop has been incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and you can tell they truly enjoy being there.

Great experience with Mac's Sports! I attended the refresher course and brought my children to get their open water certification. Keith was our instructor who was very personable and a joy to meet and know! The most important thing to consider when picking a dive shop is the folks working there. You want a dive shop that treats you like a friend as it should be a long-term relationship. The hobby/sport of scuba diving promotes friendship and comradery and having a good relationship with your dive shop is key. You will want a place you trust for buying or servicing equipment, dive trip organization and planning, etc. I checked out other dive centers closer to me, but ultimately chose Mac's. Highly recommend Mac's Sport.
