I’ve gotten some certifications from different dive shops, and I can say with absolute certainty that Scubadelphia is the one that stands out the most. The crew over there is the friendliest, most knowledgeable bunch of people I’ve come across in diving. When you take a course with them, they’re incredibly thorough with the material. They don’t just go through the motions and sign you off, you actually learn what you’re paying for, so you can feel confident and safe in the water. And if you’re looking to buy something, they carry all the top brands and best products, and can answer any questions you have about any of it. I’d recommend them for all things dive-related. They can’t be beat!

I absolutely love Scubadelphia as both a training center and dive shop! Every single staff member, whether they're working at the desk or instructing me on skills in the water, has been incredibly helpful and invested in my journey as a scuba diver. All of the prices are comparable to what I saw online PLUS you get a discount on equipment if you are receiving your open water training there.

Melissa and Dave are the BEST. Very kind and very patient. I got certified with them and so did my Daughter and Son and so will my other Daughter soon...it opened up a bond with my children that we all share and made us closer.

Top tier dive school and shop in Philly! Great experience from start to finish! The entire team at Scubadelphia were knowledgeable, patient, kind, and fun! I was nervous to go through the certification process but that feeling quickly disappeared once I got in the water with the instructors. They made the certification process easy to understand, apply, and achieve. I'm now diving comfortably and getting to truly enjoy the underwater world. I love this place. They have good prices on pretty much any general gear and some specialty stuff you might need. Recently they overnighted me a Petrel 3 AK for my rebreather after my NERD depth sensor went nuts. If I hadn’t gotten the Petrel in time, my weekend charter would have been toast! Great communication and nice people. Highly recommend!

Let me take some burden off of your decision making. This is the place you need to choose for diving instruction. Like, literally - if you choose to go somewhere else you’re wasting money, time, and the opportunity to meet rad people. The instruction is patient, personalized, enjoyable and applicable. The owners are knowledgeable, funny, kind, professional and responsive. One word of warning - you’ll want to continue your education after open water - trust me. Inherently, being around this group of people will make you decide that you want more to do with diving, so … saddle up. Also, buy crocs now, you’ll thank me later. Those guys are great and Joe does great work. I drop my dry suit off on Monday and got it back on Thursday It was a great experience.

Awesome staff , Got my certification over the summer , I always felt comfortable and safe , staff is very attentive and patient, I have always wanted to get certified to dive and now I absolutely love it , will be going for my advanced open water next year !

I initially came to Scubadelphia in the summer of 2014 with an interest in diving. I knew of other shops in the region, but wanted to find a location close to home to make obtaining training easier with my work and military schedule at the time. From the first time I walked in the door, Dave, Melissa and all of the instructor staff have made scuba diving an easy-to-navigate and enjoyable experience. Through Scubadelphia, I got set up with everything I needed to complete my various certifications from open water through rescue. I have also had a great time with the boat dive trips that I've taken so far. I ended up buying my own gear and love both the available selection and the personalized recommendations for best-fit equipment.
