I’ve been purchasing clothing through Todd for a few years and he’s been able to build out a closet that makes since for what I do. Whether it’s a special occasion or a normal day it’s easier to make a decision on what to wear. His options of materials is more broad than any tailor I’ve worked with and I often get comments on clothing he’s helped me with. I highly recommend working with him.

My first encounter with Joshua Gold was several years ago in July of 2020 when Todd came to my work because our boss wanted to buy everyone a custom dress shirt. I figured this will be fun as I have never had actual custom clothing before and only shopped at “big box” chains. Well we ordered a shirt and I ordered a suit and figured this will be a nice touch…to have one custom shirt and one custom suit. Fast forward to today…we are 21 shirts in, three jackets, four suits, two vests, several sweaters, a car coat, a cashmere jacket, gloves, three pairs of pants, four pairs of shoes and counting. My wardrobe has completely changed. There is simply not enough amazing things to say about Todd and the staff at Joshua Gold. They annoyingly take their commitment to perfection and customer satisfaction above and beyond. I have argued with Todd over letting me take a piece of clothing home that I thought was perfect and he wanted to tweak. They have become my friends. I am proud to bring co-workers and friends to their shop in downtown Royal Oak. My co-workers have completely revamped their wardrobe and most importantly look amazing simply be starting with a few key pieces. One of the best things about Todd and Joshua Gold is they are not pushy salesmen. They have no problem telling you “no this isn’t going to work for you.” They have a sincere interest in suiting your specific needs and getting the clothing that will work for you. This is a level of integrity that I feel is lost at a lot of pushy chain clothing stores who just want to make a sale. I had the pleasure of meeting Josh almost three years ago. This was my first experience with having custom clothes made. I couldn't have imagined how much fun this process would be. Josh is extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about clothing and he takes great pride in the clothes he produces. His joy is evident throughout the process. It starts with getting to know his client; learning what types of garments are needed and desired. Whether it is a business suit, sport coat, slacks, shirts, jeans, sweaters, overcoats, Josh recognizes exactly how to help the "novice" build a wardrobe. The first thing that Josh made for me was a business suit and a couple of dress shirts. From that point forward, I have added another suit, several sport coats, slacks, a top coat, and numerous shirts. We have now reached the point in our business relationship that Josh knows what I have, and he helps me fill my closet with additional garments that coordinate well with what I already have as well as help me stray from my "comfort zone". Joshua has been recommending fantastic custom suits, amazing coats (from mills in England - no big deal) and on point accessories for my husband over the last 8 years. Josh has a great eye and his ability to combine colors and patterns is excellent. He gets to know his clients and knows what would work best for us - from pocket squares to great looking work shoes to cool jeans for the weekend he is always looking out. He is a really lovely person and a great haberdasher!
