Great full-service dive shop with a the feel of a dive club. We went to Exos for PADI instruction and were pleasantly surprised by the fresh approach Exos takes to diver education and equipment sales, service and rentals. Exos has a curated selection of products rather that the 'everything' approach of estores, which is refreshing. PADI instruction is great and there are many opportunities to Dive with Pros, including club dives and boat charters in and around San Diego and So. Cal. Join the dive!

Such a fantastic dive shop! I’ve taken classes here as well as rented gear and made purchases. I’ve never had anything but exceptional customer service. The shop is really cool and unique. It has everything you need. There’s even a research lab on site working toward conservation. The staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. The dive shop has a dive club that does group dives as well as meet ups to socialize with fellow divers. My daughter is a junior diver and they are extremely supportive and encourage her to join in on the dive club dives when appropriate. I can’t recommend them enough!

I always wanted to learn to dive when I was young. Fifty years later and with the encouragement from my neighbors, I was introduced to Exos Dive. Exos Dive shop has a great atmosphere! All of the staff are extremely friendly and ready to help you advance in your diving skills. I personally have completed the Learn to Scuba Dive, Open Water Diver, and Enriched Air Diver classes. All of the instructors are professional, friendly, and extremely patience. The staff are knowledgeable and eager to help you in your diving needs from purchases new equipment or renting. They just want you to fall in love with diving.

From the moment we first walked in Exos Dive shop through, met nearly all the staff [including the person in charge of servicing our equipment] when we left we felt these are good people who have our best interests at heart! With their much appreciated assistance we purchased two sets of dive equipment and proceeded to complete courses with the owner – Daniel Ortega. Daniel not only a freakishly qualified instructor (with over 5,000 hours of diving including some gnarly cave diving, etc!) but he’s a great communicator who went above and beyond when things didn’t go well with my wife’s health during one of the dives! And for that and more we feel blessed having met this terrific group of people!

Exos is awesome!! Took two specialty courses with them and learned so much. Glad to hit my 50th dive with them and finish my Master Scuba Diver. Their shop is also huge, clean, and very neat. They also have a dive club that actually dives and also have social meet-ups. What more do you need? Highly recommend!!!

I just signed my wife & I up for the equipment specialist course, & wanted to give Daniel some appreciation. Specifically, I sent an email to Exos Dive last night (Sunday) inquiring about the course, not expecting to hear back until Monday at the earliest. Within 15 minutes, Daniel responded to my message & provided a detailed breakdown of the information that I requested. Within an hour after that, I was able to enroll in the course & Daniel had sent the eLearning over to my wife & I. I was very impressed with Daniel's awesome response time & great customer service. I'll be coming back to Exos Dive for more training/dives in the future for sure!

The team there has been great. They’ve overhauled my reg, BC, and helped me with advice on cold water diving and acquiring new gear (i.e. DUI drysuit at a steep discount). If you’re in North County I recommend stopping by Exos, they have a nice shop in San Marcos.

Daniel O. at the EXOS dive shop in San Marcos hooked me up with my dry suit. This positive experience led me to take the PADI Dry suit class with Daniel as well. The 2-day class (Pool and Ocean) was a great learning experience. His hands on and off approach (he let me make mistakes and then addressed them accordingly) gave me the basic skill to feel comfortable enough to venture out the next day. Daniel carried back up weights to ensure proper weighting and buoyancy. There was never a feeling of pressure to get the class over with. Diving in a dry suit is a real game changer, especially in colder So-cal waters. Almost feels like cheating!

Awesome place to fill up HPA tanks for airsoft or paintball. Friendly staff provide great service and cheap air refills.

Exos Dive is like coming home - such a great atmosphere- they serviced our gear and returned it in plenty of time. The store is very well stocked and has a very clean and spacious feel - you certainly don’t feel like you are having to search for ages for something. The gear they stock are all very reputable brands for all budgets. The staff are exceptional- all very experienced. This is our go-to store for sure.
