A friend and myself drove 1,000 miles just to visit brent and his shop. It was well worth it. The shop has several items ranging from beginner to professional. So there’s really something for everyone! When you walk up to the store you see an amazing illusion in the window. 2 decks of cards floating in the air. The interior of the shop is defiantly unique. The wall opens up to the theatre area, which is quite an experience in itself. The prices are fantastic. Usually with Magic shops you see way over priced items that usually only cater to tourists. That is not the case at J&B. I’d travel the distance again, and I recommend you do as well. 5/5 in my book!

A beautiful magic shop located in thriving downtown New Albany, IN! The shop itself is everything you could dream for a magic shop, framed charmingly in an old brick building, classic magic posters and decor that implies so many great and wonderful secrets are within these walls! The shop features magic for every level of magician... From the casual collector, to tricks for young magicians, to hard-hitting professional illusions. But that's not all! Avid playing cards fans can find a great selection of playing cards to browse. The shop also stocks fun gag gifts and pranks, and a great selection of unique puzzles. If reading is your thing, J&B has many magical books to further your understanding of the art, or just to expand your mind on the ways of deception! The owner, Brent, has been featured on national TV on Penn and Tellers Fool Us, and has even published his own book on magic! Past the main shop is an intimate theater where professional level magic shows are held, and the shop has a wealth of nationwide known magicians to draw from. Even the theater area exudes a air of mystery from the red curtains to the chandelier. There aren't many places like J&B Magic Shop, so if you appreciate magic at all, or are looking for a truly unique experience, you owe it to yourself to check this place out!

My wife invited family and friends to Brent's establishment to celebrate my birthday. Brent arranged for Caleb Wiles (seen on Penn and Teller's 'Fool Us' show) to provide a private performance for us and we were all amazed. We had a great, fun, mind-blowing time during his act and saw many unbelievable things. He included many of us in his tricks, making for a memorable experience for each of us. Before and after Caleb's performance, he and Brent engaged many in our group in casual conversation about many facets of magic. It was fun and interesting and speaks volumes about Brent's love for the art of magic. The theater is awesome (30 seats max.), so there's no bad seat in the house. Seeing magic up-close is a unique experience and way different than watching it on TV. Yes, I'll come back for other events/shows that he books in the future. I didn't spend much time in the shop portion of the store but know I'll be going back to hang out with Brent. Yes, Brent is that kind of guy and he comes off like a friend, not just someone running a business. He's a genuinely nice person and someone I'm glad to help with his business endeavor. This is a fun place to hang out, see a show with friends, celebrate (like I did) or for business/team-building events. Check it out!

Good people. Great vibe. Bought some simple props I needed (silks and a blank face deck). My kids were goofing off and broke a small squishy kids toy (some kind of banana thing) and I went to pay for it and clean it up...Brent didn't let us. There were multiple customers inside, and the staff engaged with everyone. This is a small business that deserves every accolade possible (prices, service, and availability...read the next sentence). Plus, if they don't have it in stock, it can be ordered online at decent prices. I really wish I lived closer than an hour away because I'd rather go in, but thankful for the online atmosphere. EDIT 12/02/22 - Nothing's changed. Brent is just a good person. Gives great advice. Uses his other employees well. Continued to interact with others in the shop while maintaining a conversation.

Randomly stumbled into this place while killing time in New Albany one Saturday afternoon. I now try to visit there every time I’m in the vicinity. My family and I have attended 3 magic shows, which are bargain-priced for the level of skill and entertainment you get. We’re always truly amazed, entertained, and sad when the show’s over. This place is a jewel in the Louisville / Southern Indiana area. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I’ve attended three shows (as of right now hehe) and I am amazed every time! Everyone has been truly talented and the atmosphere is incredible. I cannot wait to attend more shows in the future.
