Horrible, is an understatement! Rude staff, at front, rude security at the door. Waited over 6 hours and witnessed so many obnoxious staff treating ill patients waiting already over 5 hours so poorly. Would have given Zero star if possible! They send patients in on no priority and just randomly. Disorganized and poorly managed.

I went in last week because I had concerns with an antibiotic prescription from Sutter. I couldn't articulate this well because the antibiotic had horrible side effects. The doctor said to deal with the side effects and quit taking the medication at day 5. If a tendon snaps I guess nobody gonna give a darn. Seriously scary. Guess drug side effects Don't matter? I asked for iv antibiotics since I'm literally allergic to about 5 main families of antibiotics. Sucks to be me. "Red line of doom" from an infection can kill tho! The darn survey sent from John Muir won't work either. Why don't doctors care about patients wishes? At my age with the amount of doctors I've seen I think I know my body and my concerns do matter. The emergency room is nowhere you want to be unless your dying or having a baby. I honestly remembered this hospital caring about patients. Sadly I see that has changed in the last 20 years.

This is the best hospital emergency services in contra costa county. My daughter had a severe croup episode and could hardly breathe. Saturday morning there wasn’t anyone in the waiting room, we were admitted right away and the doctor came in within a few mins. She was seen by multiple doctors and respiratory therapists and her attack was resolved within an hour. This is the second time that we’ve used this hospital and both times the initial wait was negligible and the doctors and nurses were very attentive and friendly.

This staff in ER don’t even deserve 1 star The front desk and triage are slow and incompetent As well as lack of empathy for many patients during our 2.5 hr wait. Unbelievable 24 years ago I almost lost my son due to this ERoom Don’t come here pick any other hospital

Destroyed my ankle and came in an hour later with it the size of a handball. Couldn’t move it and stayed in severe pain for four hours before called back only to meet a PA after 30 minutes which then immediately dismissed me since it wasn’t broken (was a grade 3 high ankle sprain). Cost me 2k post insurance for one xray and to never meet a doctor or have pain alleviated. Avoid at all costs due to severe medical incompetence.

The John Muir Emergency Room has a license to steal. I went there on 11/27, they were not able to help me, and billed my insurance company $13K for two hours of terrible service. My insurance company paid them over $8K. Unbelievable. They did nothing for me and got paid $8K. Seriously. This is unsustainable. They should not be allowed to steal.

Dr. Anastopoulos and the entire team were thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. I felt well taken care of and was provided with reassurance and remedy! Thanks so much for everything!

They saved my life I was going down 2 years ago and I got shot six times just because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time those people that help me are the best people in the world I think each and every one of them that helped me out and brought me back to life I love the staff that was there that helped me at that time it was God's plan I was on life support for a whole month not knowing how things was going to come to be thank you y'all
