Wonderful place to go with the family for walks picnics and events. The Oldtime Fiddlers Convention is a great annual event in the fall. Tours are available of the old Stowe house.

Loved learning about the history of this homestead and the family that started a good economy and agriculture in the area.

What a fantastic museum to show part of the lifestyle of early Goleta. We love the house tour. You can walk the beautiful grounds and see incredible flora and fauna. Walk to the lake and see ducks and all sorts of wildlife. On the 4th of July they have a great festival. The train museum is right next door. Great adventure for kids and adults alike!

It's so nice to visit Stow House and Rancho La Patera. Preserved and better than ever. I grew up roaming these sites and Lake Los Carneros... Goleta Valley Historical Society does such a great job. If you are looking for a nice place to have an event I highly recommend taking a walk through and meeting with the very welcoming and knowledgeable staff.

Experience the beauty and grace that was possible during the start of the country. Before electricity, before plumbing, there were chamber pots and bed warmers, each have inherent disadvantages. Everything handmade is made slowly and is well designed. Cause it's time - dependent, can't afford to waste time on anything less than fabulous. Luckily , a lot has been saved and collated by the GVHS and it's open to the public for four hours a week and the occasion holiday. The grounds and gardens are always open during daylight hours!

This place is a hidden gem. I got married last year and this venue was gorgeous and just what we were looking for. It's such a beautiful house with a lot of history and it's maintained so we'll. I recommend this to anyone looking for a venue on a budget.
