    I’ve been a patient of Dr. Spain for a few months now since my car accident in February. He is very thorough, kind and patient. He takes his time and answers all of my questions. I never feel rushed or unimportant. I always feel that he sincerely cares for his patients and you can tell that he loves his profession. Thank you Dr. Spain for all that you do.

    My review is about how office works, not the doctors. They hired a bunch of unprofessional personnel. Communication is nonexistent. I called multiple times and was transferred to receptionists whose mail box was full, or person (female) picked up the phone, put me on hold for more than 15 min! Then she would pick up again, and put me on hold again. Unacceptable. My issue was that my daughter visited doctor in October and got a script for physical therapy, which would cover 6 weeks of physical therapy. I found PT office which is covered by my insurance, but they told me that because the time I have available only on afternoons, they could put me on schedule in 3-4 weeks if I didn’t mind waiting. I agreed. By the time my daughter started her first appointment, the script was too old and our PT office called the Sports Orthopedics office to get another script (which is usually not a problem for other offices.) Someone whose name is Jose communicated to my PT office, that the patient has to make appointment for evaluation first, and then if needed, they will give us another script. Evaluation? Of what? My daughter just got her first PT appointment! Then, I started calling this morning, and after being transferred several times, I finally spoke with receptionist who’s name was Sophia, who said she will call me after 2pm after she speaks with the doctor. She never called me back. On afternoon I started calling office again someone whose name was Sara kept transferring me to receptionist described above, who kept putting me on hold for more then 15 minutes! Finally I called again and someone named Brian transferred me to “mail box is full message” and after I called him again, he transferred me to Daniella, who sent me the script within 5 minutes. I have a feeling the office personnel does not care about patient needs. All they care is about making appointments. They brought me to the point that I wanted to quit physical therapy. People be aware!

    Dr. Spain was the most thorough doctor I've met, with regard to my fractured ankle. He offered plenty of time, answered all of my questions. I've been dealing with this for 5 months and had been to 2 other Doctors. I feel that I'm finally getting the right course of treatment.

    Dr. McCormack is a great physician. He takes his time explaining to me my progress. I can tell that he really cares about me getting better. And the staff are all very kind and professional. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.

    The first time I came to total orthopedics, I waited almost 3 hours to be seen…. Yes, 3 hours. The place looked like a clinic, it was insanity. 2 hours in the waiting room, then I was called to the room to wait another hour in a room that was hotter than a sauna. Once the PA finally did come in, I will say she was extremely pleasant, very attentive, and took her time to listen and treat me. I went for my follow up appointment, and to my surprise, the place was a zoo all over again. I requested to be called when my name was up, because I couldn’t afford to spend another 3 hours of my life waiting to be seen again. Once again- 2 hours later I was called and told I’m ready to be seen now, at this point I had another appointment with my daughter and was no where near the facility, so I was not seen this day, and to my surprise a PA that runs behind 2-3 hours on her schedule, is some how able to leave right on time at the end of her shift 2pm. I’ve worked in healthcare for over 18 years- I’m not even sure how this is possible. This organization really needs to work on respecting the patients time, because this is outrageous.

    I had a great experience a Total Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. All the staff were very friendly, and took the time to explain everything and answer questions. I really liked Dr. Trotta. She was very helpful, very friendly, and pretty funny. Usually you aren't smiling too much when you are in pain and seeing a doctor. It was nice to get all my questions and concerns answered and get a laugh while doing it. Great doctor that I highly recommend.

    A great experience. Dr Spain explained all my options to relieve my knee pain and the order he would suggest doing them in . After a cortisone shot that relieved the pain from my meniscus tear and ruptured cyst , I still had a bit of pain on the other side of my knee. After doing a sonogram he could see the bursa was inflamed and suggested one more cortisone shot on that side. It worked and I am walking normally now without pain or needing surgery. Hoping this buys me a good amount of time without surgery

    The staff and PA at this location are both very kind. This review is actually for the billing department over the phone. I recently checked my claim and realized that they billed me for an out of network doctor who I didn’t even receive treatment from; only the PA under him. I realized this and immediately called my insurance, who informed me to call billing to address this. Guess what? Billing said did you speak with us before your visit to make sure your treatment was within network and covered? This lady had absolutely no empathy and refused to help me. I hope this person can seriously take this feedback because if she was in this same situation, I would definitely not say what she said — it’s absolutely unacceptable and frustrating nonetheless. So before you see the doctor, make sure your services are covered, within network, and that you understand what the expected costs are. Otherwise, billing will absolutely throw you in flames, especially if you talk to that lady.
