The Alliant Energy Center hosts a variety of sponsored events throughout the year. We attended the Gems and Mineral Show. When we pulled up they were charging $8 for parking. We turned around and found free residential parking about a mile away. I don't know if they always charge for parking but I found that to be an inconvenience. There was also a small fee to enter the event that only accepted phone tap or cash. It appeared they did have a card reader but it wasn't working. They had an atm close by. It was $4 per adult. The entrance/main room was sponsored by the Madison Geology Society. They had rocks, gems, fossils and other mineral specimens on display and mostly everything you saw could be purchased. There were two side rooms filled with local vendors from all over the country selling and showcasing everything from jewelry, room decor, collector's finds, and other art forms all made from rocks, gems and other stones. Pricing was very inclusive for all budgets. The price range ran anywhere from $1-$10,000+. As a appreciant of many disciplines I found the show to be very fascinating. I learned a lot asking the vendors and geological society representatives questions. Everyone was so kind and passionate about their craft and hobbies. I can't speak on other shows or events that have occurred there but as a whole it is a nice facility with plenty of space for big events.

Saw the big quilt show with my wife who is a big sewing enthusiast. Lots of great vendors, workshop and great creative vibe. The food kiosks had a great cranberry chicken salad sandwich.

The GREAT WISCONSIN QUILT SHOW was incredible this year! The vendor mall actually had room to move/walk in. It was well lit and clean. There was a nice selection of vendors. Many classes were available, some were sold out. Something for everyone. Volunteer opportunities for quilting for charity, assisting with anything that was needed. What I did hear from MANY, over the course of the show, is that it was dreadfully cold. I thought so too, and should have brought a coat. Big shout out to Jan, who I greet every year. She is caring, wonderful with visitors, knowledgeable, pleasant, professional, and always has time for questions. Looking forward to next year!

We visited the midwest horse fair on a Saturday and had a great time! So much to do and see. Next year we have to plan to go two days to even see half of what we want to. The food trucks are awesome for grabbing a bite to eat. Plan to stand in line for a long time for food though.

I've been to this venue many times. From my experiences, the Alliant Energy Center never disappoints! Sporting events, championships, conversations, and exhibitions are always a blast at this location!

Cool venue with great sound! We went to see Cory Marks, Brantley Gilbert, and Five Finger Death Punch. It was a great show. We had seats directly behind the pit, in front of the soundboard. You typically get great sound in that area, we did. I definitely recommend section 5 or the pit, if that's your thing. Getting older, I prefer seats, plus I have a bad knee. Anyway. Great venue, it seems like most of the seats will give you a good view of the stage for a concert. I obviously cannot speak on other types of events as I've only been there this one time. The food and drinks were pricey, but similar to other venues, so I guess you can call that the new standard. The handicap parking was very close to the main entrance, but there was a fairly steep walkway from the lot to the entrance. I assume there has to be an easier route to take if needed, but we did not see one. Overall, we had a very good time. The venue was nice and the staff was friendly. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, would definitely see them again, and visit this venue again. If you end up there at some point, I'm sure you'll have a nice time.

Attended the Dane County Fair. It was very nice. Only $3 to get in and nothing to park. Had bbq pork eggrolls and ice cream. Good day.
