Great hike! Beautiful views. You can walk the trail or take the 470 steps to the viewing platform. The trail continues in a circle for a total of 2.2 miles or you can just enjoy the view and go back down.

Great place to hike for adults and children of all ages! The view from the top makes the trek up there absolutely worth it! The trails weren't crowded and were very manageable even for our 2 and 5 year olds. I highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a place for fresh air and exercise.

Horrible, no Gift Shop at the top. A Pure Michigan Classic. Great views of Lake Charlevoix, quick hike for the family- a great spot for a picnic. If you’re in average shape, the direct hike to the top is only about 10 minutes long. There is no water along the way so bring a water bottle. The most direct hike to the top is also mostly stairs, but if you’re looking for a more “woodsy” or longer hike, those options are available. High traffic area, so please keep your dog on a leash and pick up after it!

Killer cardio and awesome views. This place has trails for downhill biking hiking. Beautiful disc golf course as well. Watch your heart rates on the stairs though.

Hiked and mountain biked this great trail system on the same day. I love this place! Strolling the Steeps on the mountain bike is one of the MOST beautiful sections of trails here in Michigan! Thanks to the volunteers that maintain this awesome park. I will be making many returns to this place!

Went for a nice hike with the family on the 2ish mile loop to the top, then down the stairs. Very manageable... Some nice ups and downs but not too strenuous, and we were rewarded with beautiful views!

Challenging and gorgeous, well-marked MTB trails! I don't live close, but I will be back as much as possible!

Super easy flowy trails! Ride up to the look out for a beautiful view! Trails could be marked better for the people like me that came from out of town and never have been there before. That didn't stop me from riding tho! The parking lot was easy to find and had enough room.

Perfect place to view a sunset. Great trail. Stairs are great for going up and getting a good workout, then heading down the winding dirt path. Have taken my fat bike up the trail to the top, well maintained and fun.

Very nice trails. Some spots can a bit challenging for ones that don't get around very well or those not used to hiking at all.

Great sledding hill and ice skating rink. My 11 and 13 year old enjoyed it a lot. We came from out of town and sleds and ice skates are available.

Beautiful place, i always make a point of hiking/walking at avalanche at least once during every trip to Boyne City (sometimes more than once... Every day!) Has a disc golf course and mountain bike trails. I believe you can snowmobile and snowshoe or ski here during the winter. The view from the top is absolutely beautiful, well worth the ~300+ stairs (or the easier but longer walk up a trail).

Best place to hang out for hiking and biking experience. 2.2 miles trial was most beautiful with forest like experience and dog walkers will also enjoy it.

Awesome short (2mi) hike in the summer. Not too easy with climb up but also not too hard once you get to the top. Great views.

If you want to see a most beautiful site and get your steps in, this is a must do attraction. 462 steps to the top not counting all the steps it takes to get to the actual steps. Amazing view and if we could have gone at peak tree color would have been very beautiful. Amazing view over Charlevoix lake. Well worth the drive to find this place. Absolutely amazing!

A cool mountain climb of 467 steps that yields a gorgeous view of lake charlevoix and towns around it. The only negative is that they could put better signage do you know where to go. There is one small sign about 300 yards from the parking lot

Amazing view. A lot of steps or walk the 2 mile trail, either way you're in for a treat! Top 5 overlook in Michigan!

Very nicely maintained trail. Good integration of the foot path, disc golf, and biking. The view at the top is great as well. Great spot for birding, awesome trees, and convenient location. The trail is mostly uphill but if that is a major problem you could start by taking the stairs to the top, then going down backwards.

👍👍 A very nice dog park, almost in the middle of nowhere. It has a small dog area and a large dog area. The size is plenty big. 50 dogs could easily be comfortable. 👍👍 Nice park with lots of activity options, as the sign at the roadside says. There are tennis and pickleball courts, ball fields and soccer fields. The city page and the sign says there are trails too. There is a very minimal playground as well. The city page also says there's concession building with...
