Our very first trip to Beaufort SC , and to start the trip off in true fash is on we decided to take tour. Our decision on which tour to pick was decided by be our daughter. Southern Rose is a horse drawn carriage and her love if horse won over our decision. Justin was out horse your guide and Sam wad our human tour guide. The young lady was very knowledgeable and you could tell she loved the area. I don't want to give away anything from your. I would highly recommend going. The entire tour takes about 40min - 50 min. You honestly will learn a great deal. Great for all ages. Bring money for a tip. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved our tour with Bandit, Rose, and I think the gentleman's name was Chalres or Charlie(sorry I have blanked on his name). I would absolutely recommend that you take part in this tour during your visit to Beaufort. He told us a lot of history (he was a retired history teacher) and stories about the area. Bandit was great and was a hoot when avoiding water puddles! The horses are well taken care of and checked on to make sure that they don't get too hot in this summer heat.

My sister and I had a marvelous carriage ride on 9/15/23 at 10:00 a.m. with Link and a wonderful young lady (Taylor?). Everything about the tour was so entertaining, informative, and FUN! Our driver was from Beaufort and knew so much information, all delivered beautifully with lots of humor as well. It was the highlight of our week’s stay in Beaufort. Thank you so much for this amazing tour!!!! (And the weather even cooperated!).

Taylor and Linc (horse) made this tour fun, informative, and memorable. I'd been hesitant to book a carriage tour given the unfavorable publicity associated with animal rights. However, it sounds like Linc is treated like a valued member of his family, and in fact, may be living a life more comfortable than he did previously on a Midwestern farm. Reading articles and plaques is a good way to learn history but it's nothing compared to hearing it presented in a colorful, fun way. We highly recommend spending an hour on this great tour.

We did the last spot today and got the horse Bandit with the amazing tour guide, Tyler. She was funny and made the whole experience enjoyable!! I love history and love horses, so being able to feed and love on Bandit just added the cherry onto for me!! Definitely plan to bring some friends down for another tour!! From the LaBoone family, thank you for a wonderful tour!!!

I gained so much inspiration & knowledge from this experience. Our trip was filled with stories, facts, dates & laughs. There is a significant amount of history in this small area. Our guide shared stories that showcased undeniable courage & perseverance. There were life lessons that can even be incorporated & passed along in our lifetimes. I was impressed with how well Anastasia knew her city & was connected to people within. Her playful nature was an added bonus. Link, her horse, has the best personality. They are a strong team! I recommend this tour if you are in the Beaufort area

Awesome Tour! The carriage holds up to 8 comfortably. The tour is about an hour and covers all of the historic portions of Beaufort. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and covered a lot of great facts, stories, and some fun items about the area. Much of the information would take you quite a while to research yourself. This is a MUCH better way to see the downtown historic area, than trying to drive on the very narrow streets.

The people were super nice! The tour guide was awesome, I learned so much. They were great with my 2 year old daughter too. Which a mother always loves! Philippe was a beautiful, gentle horse.

Anastasia was a very good tour guide. It was just our husband and I on the carriage. So she personalized it to our interests. She had interesting stories and gave us a nice history. Also, the horses are very well taken care of through this tour company. Blaze was our Clydesdale and he seemed very happy.

My favorite experience while staying on Hilton Head Island! Charlotte and Maximus were fantastic. Her narration made our short stay in Beaufort very worthwhile.

I'm a resident of Beaufort for over 6 years now. I've never taken a tour until today. I recommend it for anyone. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Thank you Sam!!!

My family took this tour back in May and my wife and I have taken it a couple of years ago. It does not disappoint! I highly recommend the Southern Rose Carriage Tour as it gives you a great introduction to Beaufort: history of Beaufort, recent local history, movies that have been filmed there (and there has been a bunch!) and great idea/starting point for other places you may want to visit during your stay in Beaufort. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and entertaining. If you are concerned about the horses (because my daughter was as she is a "horse nut") the horses are Well Cared For, traded in and out and not overworked. She was very pleased.

I wasn’t wild about doing a carriage tour. We had done one in Charleston, SC and I wasn’t impressed. My wife talked me into it though, and I’m glad she did! This was a wonderful tour. We got to hear so much about the history of Beaufort as we toured the Historic District. Our tour guide, Charlotte, was super friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable! The good experience began even at check-in though. The young lady who checked us in, Anastasia, was equally as enthusiastic and friendly. It was such a pleasure seeing these young ladies as they worked together at the beginning and end of the tour. They obviously got along well, loved working together, loved working with the horse, Max, and loved working with their guests! A great, informative tour of a beautiful area rich in history by a wonderful staff. My wife and I would absolutely recommend this tour as a thing to do while visiting Beaufort!

We were a last minute group. Taylor and Link were great. We enjoyed the tour with all the stories. Taylor was a great commentator and Link did a great job pulling the carriage. We would recommend this ride. Thanks for the history and entertainment during the ride.

This was an awesome experience! They accommodated a late schedule change with a large party. Rose could not have been more kind and helpful, and Charlotte gave a tour of a lifetime. All our kids said that it was the best touring experience we have had. And Wyatt Earp was a fantastic horse leading us through the beautiful streets of Beaufort. When we return with friends, this tour tops our list! Thank you, Southurn Rose team!
